Jennifer Aniston's alleged stalker, gate crasher facing felony charges

Yahoo08-05-2025
The 48-year-old man from Mississippi arrested for crashing through a gate at Jennifer Aniston's Bel Air home faces the possibility of three years in prison if convicted on all charges, authorities announced Wednesday.
In a news release, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said Jimmy Wayne Carwyle is charged with stalking the Emmy and Golden Globe award winning actress since March 2023.
Prosecutors said Carwyle, a resident of New Albany, Mississippi, repeatedly harassed Aniston, identified only as 'Jennifer A' in the release, leaving her unwanted voicemails, as well sending her messages over social media and email.
Carwyle's alleged fixation culminated in a frightening ordeal on May 5 when he reportedly crashed through the front gates of Aniston's Bel Air mansion, causing damage to the property.
The 'Friends' and 'Morning Show' actress was reportedly home when the incident happened.

Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the neighborhood around 12:20 p.m. on reports that a burglary suspect had driven through the gate of a home near Sunset Boulevard and Bellagio Road.
Private security in the area detained the suspect until officers arrived. Carwyle, who reportedly complained about being in pain after crashing through the gate, was taken into custody without further incident.
He has since been charged with one count each of felony stalking and felony vandalism, as well as an aggravating circumstance of the threat of great bodily harm, L.A. County prosecutors said.
'Stalking is a crime that can quickly escalate from harassment to dangerous, violent actions, threatening the safety of victims and our communities,' L.A. DA Nathan Hochman said. 'My office is committed to aggressively prosecuting those who stalk and terrorize others, ensuring they are held accountable.'
Prosecutors intend to ask the court that Carwyle's bail be set at $150,000. He is due to appear in court tomorrow.

49ers' cornerback Deommodore Lenoir discusses June arrest in Los Angeles

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir addressed reporters Sunday for the first time since he was arrested for obstruction of justice in Los Angeles in June and apologized for his actions. 'I'm different than who I was five years ago — being at the right place and not really hanging out in areas that I shouldn't be,' Lenoir said. 'So I want to apologize to my teammates, the organization and to my coaches and to my family for a mistake.' Lenoir, a 25-year-old Los Angeles native, was arrested on June 27 when Los Angeles Police Department officers approached a group that included Lenoir and saw a gun inside a parked vehicle. When police requested the keys, a man threw them to Lenoir, who threw the keys to another man who tried to hide them. Lenoir was released on his own recognizance at 1:18 a.m. the next day. Lenoir's court date was initially set for Friday, but a spokesperson for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office told the Chronicle last week that Lenoir's case had not been received. The L.A. city attorney generally has up to a year from the date of the alleged crime to file a misdemeanor charge. CMC and SpO2: Running back Christian McCaffrey trained throughout the offseason with his younger brother, Luke, a Commanders wide receiver who was a 2024 third-round pick. Falcons running back Bijan Robinson, who ranked fourth in the NFL in yards from scrimmage last year, also joined the brothers. 'He just hit us up and wanted to get some work in,' McCaffrey said. 'Obviously, somebody like that who I have the utmost respect for as a player and a person, I was fired up that he could join us for a little bit.' Robinson told reporters last week that he learned a lot about post-training recovery from McCaffrey, who uses an altitude training chamber known as the 'Stratosphere' as part of his routine. 'It's a new innovation, man,' Robinson said. 'We were 18,000 feet in the air, but we were like in a machine. … It was like the coolest thing ever.' Asked about the 'Stratosphere,' McCaffrey noted it's one of the 'gadgets and gizmos' he uses. 'There's the (hyperbaric) chamber, the hypoxic training, the breath work, the pool,' McCaffrey said. 'There's so many different things. We just try to take every little ounce. If you can find an advantage or an edge, we'll do it.' Hypoxic training, Christian? 'It's basically breath work where you fluctuate your SpO2 numbers to get a stem-cell flush into your system,' McCaffrey said. McCaffrey did spend his entire offseason in training-and-recovery mode. McCaffrey and his wife, model and actress Olivia Culpo, welcomed their first child, Colette Annalise, on July 13. 'It's been such a blessing,' McCaffrey said. 'I've been on cloud nine ever since she was born. It's definitely been special for me — life-changing, that's for sure. I'm grateful for my wife. She does a great job of letting me still keep football going and working my butt off.' Jennings exits: Wide receiver Jauan Jennings left practice early with a calf injury he suffered during team drills. Jennings was also sidelined during spring practices with a calf issue, and head coach Kyle Shanahan suggested he might have aggravated that injury. 'That's what he had in OTAs, so I'm sure it's similar,' Shanahan said. Jennings has participated in the first four practices of training camp despite seeking a new contract. Last year, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk didn't practice during training camp when he was seeking an extension, in part to avoid an injury. Aiyuk feigned neck and back injuries as part of his hold-in. Shanahan shelved: Shanahan hasn't assumed his customary practice role as the quarterback in certain defensive drills during training camp. In his place, general manager John Lynch 's son, Jack, a first-year defensive quality control coach, is tossing those passes. Why has Lynch taken his spot? 'He didn't take it, all right,' Shanahan said, smiling. 'I'm injured right now.' Shanahan explained that his throwing elbow began bothering him in December, but he continued to throw during practice. 'I think it ruined me,' Shanahan said. 'I keep waiting for it to heal. It won't heal. I'll probably have to fix it in February. It really sucks not being able to throw. Not just to (the players), but the tennis ball to my dog. Anything. I've got to fix this.' Apple added: The 49ers signed cornerback Eli Apple, 29, two days after corner Renardo Green suffered a hamstring injury in practice that's expected to sideline him for weeks, a league source said. Apple, a 2016 first-round pick, has six interceptions in an 82-start career that's included stints with six teams. Last year, Apple played 27 snaps in four games with the Chargers, who placed him on injured reserve with a hamstring injury he suffered in Week 12. Shanahan said he hoped Green could return during the week the 49ers have a joint practice scheduled with the Raiders on Aug. 14. Staff writer Noah Furtado contributed to this report.

Tulsi Gabbard fires back at Obama: ‘absolute failure'

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard fired back at former President Barack Obama, accusing him of deflecting from his administration's 'absolute failure' to vet intelligence reports used to fuel narratives of Russian collusion with the 2016 Trump campaign. 'The treasonous conspiracy that we have now released to the American people — the complicity, the deflection, and the silence of politicians, of the mainstream media, and of those directly implicated into this speaks volumes,' Gabbard said on Fox & Friends Saturday. 3 Gabbard fired back at Obama Saturday on Fox. MediaPunch / BACKGRID Advertisement On Tuesday, President Trump called for criminal charges against Obama, 63, for allegedly ordering an intelligence report saying Russia meddled to help him win the White House in 2016. Trump was referring to documents Gabbard declassified last week. Obama's office responded, calling the claims an attempt at distracting from the scandal over the administration's handling of the Epstein files. These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction,' he said, referring to the mounting pressure on Trump to release the Epstein files. 'President Obama's very carefully worded response that came from his office, again, deflects away from addressing any of the truth that was revealed,' she said. 'They would have to admit and actually address the details of their complicity in this or their absolute failure in conducting the most basic responsibilities of, again, asking, where is this intelligence coming from? Former prosecutor explains why Obama's 'terrible political dirty trick' isn't likely to be prosecuted

Former federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy suggested former President Barack Obama is "complicit up to his neck" in the infamous "Russiagate" scandal brought forth by DNI Tulsi Gabbard last week, but Republicans anticipating a prosecution shouldn't hold their breath. "The scandal here... is they had a legitimate reason to investigate Russia's meddling in the election and what they did was they used that as a pretext to basically investigate Trump to spy on his presidency and to try to make him an ineffective president," McCarthy told "Fox & Friends" on Thursday. "That's why it's a terrible political dirty trick," he continued. "The issue again is… is it prosecutable? And I just don't see it." McCarthy, a Fox News contributor who formerly served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, pointed to President Donald Trump's prior insistence that presidents have "complete immunity from prosecution" for actions executed while in office. He also noted that Obama's alleged wrongdoings took place nine years ago, beyond the statute of limitations on federal crimes, which is generally five years. Gabbard recently declassified a blitz of documents she claims provide "overwhelming evidence" implicating the 44th president and members of the intelligence community in what she described as a "years-long coup" to undermine President Donald Trump following his 2016 election victory over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. "Treason" and "conspiracy" accusations quickly followed from conservatives, who continue to accuse Obama and affiliates of politicizing intelligence assessments. Gabbard, on Monday, sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department related to her findings. Obama spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush pushed back on the Trump administration's claims in a rare statement this week, writing, "Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response, but these claims are outrageous enough to merit one. "These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction," Obama's spokesman continued. "Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes." He added: "These findings were affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio."
