PM approves traffic reductions, facilities matrix

Sana'a - Saba: Prime Minister Ahmed al-Rahawi on Saturday approved the traffic reductions and facilities matrix submitted by the Minister of Interior, Major General Abdulkarim al-Houthi, based on a proposal from the General Traffic Department. The approval of traffic reductions and facilities comes on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, and in recognition of the circumstances caused by the American, Saudi, and Emirati aggression, in an effort to alleviate the burdens and suffering of drivers. The matrix includes the following: 1. Reducing fees for all previous and accumulated traffic violations from before May 2022 to only 1,000 Y.R for each violation. 2. Adopting the minimum fee for all traffic violations committed before Ramadan 5, 1446 AH (March 5, 2025 AD), instead of the maximum limit, with the exception of the violation of driving against the lane, which will continue with its maximum limit due to its seriousness and danger. 3. Exemption from old renewal fees for all previous years, and it will be sufficient to calculate the fees for the last year only. 4. Exemption from the last fine for which the vehicle was seized and impounded. 5. Providing the possibility of paying traffic violation fees in installments, according to the amounts due. These facilities and discounts, which will continue until the end of Ramadan, apply to all means of transportation, whether they are registered or not. The Prime Minister praised the facilities, which represent a reduction of more than 50 percent of the fees, and called on drivers to take advantage of these temporary facilities and correct their legal status before the end of the specified deadline. He also urged everyone to adhere to traffic rules and etiquette for their safety and the safety of others, as well as to reflect the true civilized image of the country.
