Kajol's latest film 'Maa' is produced by Ajay. In a recent interview, Kajol opened up on Ajay's career graph, chose her favourite movies of Ajay and also credited him for his resillience as a producer after his first production 'Raju Chacha' flopped.
During a candid chat with The Lallantop, Kajol said with a humour and wit on dsiplay, "His career changed after he got married to me. Achi tarah se seekha ke nikaala hai maine unko."
As for her favourite film from Ajay's body of work, Kajol picked two standouts. 'I love Company, it is in my top favourites,' she shared, but added that The Legend Of Bhagat Singh remains closest to her heart. 'Best film for me was actually Legend Of Bhagat Singh. It was amazing. I loved it. Ek kirdaar jo aise portray kia hai. Every bit of him was Bhagat Singh in that film.'
Kajol also opened up about the emotional toll Ajay experienced after the failure of Raju Chacha in 2000.
Produced under his banner Devgn Films, the film was one of the most expensive Indian productions of its time but failed to make a mark at the box office, leading to substantial financial losses. Reflecting on that difficult phase, Kajol recalled, 'It was really horrible. He was very upset that it didn't do well. It took him a long time to feel better, that was a big blow to him.
'
However, she praised Ajay's resilience and commitment to storytelling despite the setback. 'But, I have to give him credit that he still continued to produce films after that. Most people give up completely after such a big loss, they don't take that risk again. He is doing it till today. Kudos to him as a producer to still want to give a quality product at the end of the day.'

‘Ram Gopal Varma slept on the stairs, Subhash Ghai passed out on a swing': Lyricist Sameer Anjaan reveals how they met AR Rahman in a jungle at 3 am for recording

Many music directors, lyricists, and singers have spoken about A.R. Rahman's habit of composing and recording songs late at night. Lyricist Sameer Anjaan recently spoke about Rahman 's unconventional working hours and shared a rare, horror-like incident that occurred during the recording of The Legend of Bhagat Singh. Sameer Anjaan about AR Rahman's late night recording sessions AR RAHMAN–HANS ZIMMER SELFIE WITH RANBIR; 'RAMAYANA' TEASER SPARKS GLOBAL MUSIC FRENZY In a conversation on The Ashoke Pandit Show, Sameer recounted working with Rahman on the 2002 film The Legend of Bhagat Singh. They had to travel deep into a dense forest to meet the Oscar-winning musician at 3 a.m. According to Sameer, he was initially told that the music sitting would begin at 11 p.m., but the wait extended far beyond that. 'When we reached his house, we saw that Ram Gopal Varma had fallen fast asleep on the stairs, Subhash Ghai had passed out on the swing in the lawn, Asha Bhosle was singing inside, and Udit Narayan was just talking nonsense upstairs — but in all of this, Rahman was nowhere to be seen,' he said. Sameer opened up about a scary meeting with AR Rahman Rahman wasn't at his residence. Instead, his assistant directed Sameer, director Rajkumar Santoshi, and producer Ramesh Taurani to a second location. They were asked to follow a car, which eventually stopped on the side of a highway. There, they saw a man holding a lantern, who instructed them to follow him as they drove into a dense jungle. Kajol says Ibrahim Ali Khan and other star kids must ‘reinvent' on screen: 'It's a do-or-die situation'

Kajol says star kids now face the pressure of delivering immediate results rather than being given space to grow as actors. The actor, who is the daughter of yesteryear star Tanuja and one of the most successful female stars of her generation, said she had the space and time to grow. Kajol will be seen next in Sarzameen. What Kajol said 'Trolls will criticise you whether you have parents who are well-known or not. But we listen to them a little more when they're talking about somebody whose parents are well-known, maybe. "We had that chance to grow, we were given that time, or maybe enough films to grow and to become who we are. Today it's almost like a do-or-die situation for them, and for this, they're very well prepared. I have to give them that. But we can be a little kinder,' Kajol told PTI. The 50-year-old actor will be seen playing the role of a mother to Ibrahim Ali Khan, son of Saif Ali Khan, in the upcoming movie Sarzameen. Ibrahim was trolled badly for his debut performance in Nadaaniyan. 'Reinvention' is the key for actors to evolve continuously, Kajol said. 'For actors, it's necessary to understand that you have to unlearn everything that you have learnt earlier, and keep doing new things, whatever they may be." Despite these challenges, Kajol commended the current crop of actors and said they are seeking longevity not just through acting but by engaging in different ventures. 'Longevity now means something else. So, my kind of longevity may not be there. But in this day and age, the great thing about all these actors is that they will keep coming up with different kinds of films, and they will do other things as well, along with it (acting). It won't only be about movies for them. So, their longevity might not be limited to movies," she said. Kajol was last seen in 'Maa', a mythological horror film, directed by Vishal Furia of 'Chhorii' fame. (With inputs from PTI)

Kajol Kept Laughing During Shilpa Shetty's Death Scene In Baazigar: 'Itna Nail Polish Kaun Lagata Hai?'

Kajol recalls laughing during a serious Baazigar scene because of Shilpa Shetty's feet and nail polish, says Abbas-Mustan had to scold her to stay in character. Kajol recently looked back on a moment from the sets of Baazigar that still makes her laugh. The 1993 thriller might be remembered for its dramatic scenes, but for Kajol, one emotional sequence turned unexpectedly funny—thanks to her co-star Shilpa Shetty's feet. In a conversation with The Lallantop, Kajol recalled how she ended up laughing uncontrollably during a scene where Shilpa was playing a dead body. 'Bechari Shilpa ke saath huya. It was the dead body sequence, and for some reason, I just couldn't stop laughing at her feet. I looked at them and thought, 'Who applies this much nail polish while dying?' I was laughing uncontrollably just looking at her feet." Despite the seriousness of the scene, Kajol couldn't pull herself together. 'I kept laughing, 'Oh my god this is so funny, Shilpa's feet and nail polish'. Aur Abbas bhai said, 'Baby no, listen, you have to give shot right now and cry.' But I couldn't control myself. Toh Abbas bhai ne fir daanta mujhe uss time ki 'Stop it. Imagine if it was your real sister, then would you be laughing like this? Toh ekdum flip hogaya mera fir mood." The director's words helped Kajol switch gears emotionally, but the memory clearly stayed with her—and fans now know what was going on behind the scenes of one of Baazigar's most emotional moments. On the work front, Kajol's upcoming project is Sarzameen, produced by Karan Johar and directed by Kayoze Irani, son of Boman Irani. The film, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Ibrahim Ali Khan in key roles, is set to premiere on Jio Hotstar on July 25. About Baazigar Baazigar (1993) is one of the defining thrillers of 90s Bollywood, marking a major turning point in the careers of Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Directed by the popular duo Abbas-Mustan, the film stood out for its bold storyline where the lead actor played an anti-hero—a rare move in mainstream Hindi cinema at the time. Loosely inspired by the Hollywood film A Kiss Before Dying, Baazigar follows a young man out for revenge, stopping at nothing to get justice for his family. With chart-topping music, gripping twists, and powerful performances, Baazigar became a massive box office success and is still remembered for iconic lines like 'Kabhi kabhi kuch jeetne ke liye kuch haarna padta hai."
