If you have lived in the UAE for some time, you'll know that the dates of Ramadan can be predicted by astronomers, but not confirmed until declared by religious authorities across the Muslim world following official moon sighting. Over the last year, Dubai has even used drones in its quest to sight the moon, along with the moon sighting committees and the public's assistance.

Al Muntada Al Islami concludes 25th scientific session

Saif Youssef, head of the Technical and Media Committee, commended the level of participation and engagement throughout the session, noting that the success was due in part to effective media and outreach efforts that promoted Al Muntada's mission. At the end of the program, Dr. Bushlaibi honored several lecturers and participants, presenting them with certificates to acknowledge their valuable contributions. Participants expressed their appreciation for this educational initiative, highlighting its significance in promoting Islamic culture and the values of knowledge and learning within the community, especially in light of Sharjah's commitment to education and scholarly pursuits.

Holy Quran Academy launches 3rd summer programme
The programme features four distinguished educational tracks: Quranic Calligraphy and Manuscript Illumination, Fundamentals of Tajweed and Articulation Points, My Experience with the Quran, and Future Guide, which targets the age group of 9 to 17 years. This initiative falls in line with the Academy's mission to transmit and embed human values as well as Arab and Islamic identity. This would give Dubai residents a three-day long weekend when combined with Saturday and Sunday. However, if Rabi' Al-Awwal begins on Sunday August 24, then Prophet Muhammad's birthday (PBUH) should fall on Thursday September 4.
