Aquarelle Brings the European Seaside to Avenue B
Baris Koroglu, an owner of this new luxuriously appointed East Village spot, is serving a European take on seafood, with dishes like fluke crudo with blood orange, scallops spiced with piri piri, branzino with Meyer lemon, and salt-baked red snapper with herbs and olive oil. It pays to note that the stoves stay lit until midnight for that restorative lobster pasta with heirloom tomatoes before you call it a night.

Originally founded in 1873, this restaurant, a testament to the significance of the South Street Seaport, has been lovingly restored. It's also proof that the current appeal of foie gras terrine, snails, onion soup and steak frites is not new. The food is by Benjamin Wolff who worked at Racines NY, pastries are by Emma Scanlon, and the entire project is the work of Julien Legeard, the founder of Legeard Studio and Opus Hospitality, with a deep bow to the history of the place. This outdoor dining venue in Hudson Yards is from Alex and Miles Pincus of Grand Banks in Manhattan and Pilot in Brooklyn, pierside restaurants on vintage boats. The centerpiece for this summer's 200-seat sprawl is an old Hinkley lobster boat; the menu's mostly East Coast seafood lists oysters, fish and chips and a lobster BLT.

Previously, a dinner prepared by the chef Yvan Lemoine, a Food Network celeb, could be arranged only by booking My Kitchen, the catering company he owns with his wife, Rebecca Sussman. Now, from Wednesdays through Fridays, the venue becomes this intimate French American restaurant with a leafy garden lounge. Among Mr. Lemoine's specialties is classic pressed duck with cherries ($225 for two), a rare tour de force (pun intended) finished tableside in a silver duck press.

The restaurateurs Nino Coniglio and Drew Toresco have opened a pizzeria and Sicilian restaurant in a location that has one of the oldest coal ovens in the country. Exposed brick, vintage photos and leather upholstery evoke an era when coal-oven pizza was the coin of the realm for proper cheese-and-tomato pies.

Game Show ‘Scrambled Up,' Hosted By Michael Yo, To Launch On Stations September 8
New game show "Scrambled Up," hosted by Michael Yo, will debut on stations across the country on ... More September 8. Given the durability of syndication mainstays Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy! and Family Feud, it isn't all that common for a new first-run game show to snag station time period availabilities. But Playing Field Entertainment (Cutlers Court), Keller/Noll (Flip Side, America Says, Chopped), and Crazy Legs Productions have confirmed the official launch of Scrambled Up, which per the logline features 'brain-tickling clues in an easy-to-follow format.' It debuts on Monday, September 8. Specifically, Scrambled Up showcases four competitors who must solve puzzles featuring scrambled letters. As the letters correctly rearrange themselves, the clues the contestants receive will become easier. The first person who buzzes in with the correct answer will have a chance to win $10,000. A wrong answer means that player can no longer guess while the first player with the right answer wins the points. Hosted by actor comedian Michael Yo, Scrambled Up has been cleared in more than a reported 80 percent of the country. Included are stations in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston, and Miami. Launch partners include CBS Television Stations, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Nexstar Media Group, E.W. Scripps Company, Tegna Inc., Weigel Broadcasting Co., and Gray Television, among others. Playing Field Entertainment is handling distribution sales and CBS Media Ventures is handling advertising sales. Actor and comedian Miichael will host the upcoming syndication game show "Scrambled Up." Dave Noll, Cleve Keller, Ross Babbit, Dave Bulhack, Gary Apple, Tom Cappello, and Scott Thigpen will serve as executive producers. 'We are thrilled by the enthusiastic response from our station launch partners and know that audiences are going to equally embrace Scrambled Up', stated David Bulhack, Co-Founder, Playing Field Entertainment in a statement. 'Keller/Noll has again created a super fun and engaging game show that will have viewers eagerly playing along and wanting more,' noted Tom Cappello, CEO of Crazy Legs Productions. 'We're excited to bring another hit to the syndication marketplace, and Scrambled Up is sure to be it.' Scrambled Up! is the second new first-run syndicated game show for next season. The first is The Perfect Line from CBS Media Ventures, which features Inside Edition's Deborah Norville hosting this trivia game of questions about world events, pop culture, sports, science and other topics. Contestants are given a category and then arrange events, items or people to create 'the perfect line.' Anchored by CBS Stations Group, The Perfect Line is now sold to broadcast stations in a reported 90 percent of the country. Chances are it will be paired in many markets with season two of Flip Side, hosted by Jaleel White, which is also from CBS Media Ventures.
