More than 450 items of memorabilia were sold in the Los Angeles auction, hosted by Julien's Auctions and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) at the Peninsula Beverly Hills, where they fetched a combined 4.25 million dollars (£3.16 million).
The item which sold for the highest price was a group of 11 scripts from Lynch's unfinished film project, Ronnie Rocket: The Absurd Mystery Of The Strange Forces of Existence, which fetched 195,000 dollars (£145,206).
Items from films such as Mulholland Drive and Eraserhead were sold at the auction (Neil Munns/PA)
Other lots included three scripts from the production of Mulholland Drive, which made 104,000 dollars (£77,443), with a note on one script reading: 'We are very concerned about preserving the integrity of this screenplay. Please do not let anyone read this script – it is for your use only.'
Other Mulholland Drive items sold at the auction included prop menus from Winkie's diner, which sold for 7,800 dollars (£5,808), and an original diptych featuring portraits of Naomi Watts and Laura Harring as their roles Betty Elms and Rita in the film, which made 16,250 dollars (£12,100).

Catherine Williamson, managing director of entertainment at Julien's Auctions, said: 'Every object in this collection served as a window into Lynch's surreal and uncompromising creative world – whether from his ground-breaking films, television work, or personal studio.
'The global response to the auction speaks not only to the cultural importance of his legacy, but to the profound admiration and reverence he inspires among fans, collaborators, and collectors alike.'
Script copies of the pilot episode of Lynch and Mark Frost's Twin Peaks TV series, with its original name Northwest Passage crossed out and replaced with Twin Peaks, sold for 91,000 dollars (£67,762) at the auction, while scripts from its prequel film Fire Walk With Me, made 78,000 dollars (£58,082).
Lynch's personal 35mm print of his debut feature film Eraserhead sold for 52,000 dollars (£38,721).
The US director died aged 78 earlier this year, five months after he revealed he had been diagnosed with emphysema, a chronic lung disease, after 'many years of smoking'.

Rebekah Del Rio dead aged 57: American singer famed for her role in David Lynch's Mullholland Drive passes away at home

American singer Rebekah Del Rio has died at the age of 57. The artist was famed for her performance of Llorando in David Lynch's critically acclaimed 2001 movie Mulholland Drive. Rebekah, who grew up in San Diego but was of Mexican, Italian and Sephardic heritage, was found dead at her Los Angeles home on June 23. The cause of her death remains unknown. Her death comes 16 years after her son, Phillip C. DeMars, sadly died aged 23 in 2009. The singer's nephew Dan Coronado confirmed her passing with a post on Facebook, writing: 'Just found out my Tia Becky passed away, and we literally just saw her on Father's Day. 'So grateful the kids got to hear her sing. and also that I didn't listen to her and secretly recorded the moment. 'Her most famous song is titled 'Llorando' which is named after Roy Orbison's song 'Crying' which I'm doing right now as I type this out. 'Thank you for sharing your beautiful gift with the world. We love you.' Rebekah had taken to the stage at a live charity screening of Mullholland Drive in LA just a couple of weeks before her death. Her performance of the Spanish version of Crying featured in a famous scene in the film. Del Rio appears to be singing at a club in the scene, before fainting and falling to the floor as the movie's two lead actors Naomi Watts and Laura Harring watch on in tears. In a 2022 interview, the singer revealed that she recorded the track for David Lynch before filming for the movie began. 'There were many takes,' she told IndieWire. 'And with every take I sang along because I felt I had to produce that same feeling with the vibrato in my throat so the audience could see it. 'I also wanted the beautiful girls on the balcony, Laura and Naomi, to experience it live. They were present while I was doing my scene, so I sang to them.' She went on to sing for Mullholland Drive director Lynch on further occasions, including in a revival series of Twin Peaks: The Return. Following her sad passing this week, fans flooded to X to pay tribute to Del Rio. They wrote: 'Just learned that Rebekah Del Rio passed away a few days ago. RIP to an incredible voice', 'One of the greatest artistic experiences of my life (her scene in the film). I didn't know much about her outside of this, and Southland Tales, and that's my point. Never understood why she wasn't a household name', 'This is sad. Rebekah Del Rio had a stunning voice', 'RIP Rebekah Del Rio. Just like in Mullholland Drive, her voice keeps going when she's not there, and what a voice it is. Grateful to have seen her on the big screen the other month', 'I had the immensely good fortune to witness Rebekah Del Rio sing live at @RioTheatre two years ago. 'And yes, she also sang the Mullholland Drive song as well as the one from Southland Tales. RIP to such a bright and brilliant artist'. Rebekah's passing comes just months after David Lynch - who also directed Twin Peaks and Blue Velvet - died at the age of 78. After battling a period of ill health, Lynch's family announced his passing in January of this year. 'It is with deep regret that we, the family, announce the passing of the man and the artist, David Lynch.' It was later announced that the film director had died of a cardiac arrest due to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Del Rio made a cameo appearance in the film and was part of a scene shot at the Club Silencio in Los Angeles. In the scene, she belted out the Spanish-language track, which is known as "Crying" in English, before collapsing on the ground. She was carried out of the theater but she continued singing. Advertisement Del Rio later revealed she sung the track, rather than lip-synced, according to Indie Wire. 'Because I am a natural-born singer, and I don't know how to lip-sync, I sang along for every take of that scene,' she told the outlet. 'I've seen lip-syncing in a lot of films and television and have noticed the vibrato in their throats is not moving. 'It's pretty apparent that they're not really singing.' Advertisement Del Rio revealed it took several takes to shoot the scene, and didn't lip sync on any occasion. Fans on X have claimed the scene is perhaps the "greatest" in cinematic history. Del Rio also performed at a Mulholland Drive charity event. Naomi Watts and Justin Theroux also starred in Mulholland Drive, directed by David Lynch. Watts won the best actress award at the National Society of Film Critics for her performance as Betty Elms and Diane Selwyn. Lynch picked up the Best Director gong at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival, and he was nominated for an Oscar. Del Rio also appeared in the comedy thriller Southland Tales and performed the US national anthem. Advertisement She also performed the track No Stars in Twin Peaks The Return. Del Rio's death comes more than 15 years after her son, Phillip DeMars, passed in 2009. More to follow...
