And it comes just days before they're due to hit the stage at Worthy Farm.
In a statement shared to their Instagram Stories, the group - comprised of Amy Taylor, Bryce Wilson, Declan Mehrtens and Gus Romer - wrote: "VIENNA. We are so sorry, but we have to cancel tonight's show.
"Two of our band members and one of our crew have contracted a very nasty virus and they are receiving medical care.
"We're so sorry for fie late notice. We were hoping we would not have to cancel tonight, but they are just too sick to perform.
"You'll get an email from the promoter and tickets will be automatically refunded from the point of purchase.
"We'll come back as soon as we can."
The last-minute cancellation came just two hours before the band was due to take the stage, with disappointed fans left outside the venue.
Taking to a Reddit forum, one wrote: "Amyl and the sniffers have cancelled a show in Vienna tonight. Hoping their band members will be okay for Saturday!"
Another added: "They're great live and put on a hell of a show in Woodsies a few years ago. Fingers crossed everyone is ok."
Someone else moaned: "Talk about bad timing! I was waiting outside the venue when the cancellation was announced, only two hours before the concert was supposed to start.
Foo Fighters make surprise Glastonbury performance as The Churn Ups
"It was especially tough seeing two fans who'd flown all the way from Australia for this show.
"Disappointed for sure, but wishing the band a speedy recovery and really hoping they can reschedule for next year."
Glastonbury kicks off today with several mystery slots still unannounced - and fans are on high alert for clues about surprise performers.
This morning, a mysterious billboard popped up near Castle Cary, the main train station for Glastonbury Festival.
The large white banner features a cryptic message in red text which says: 'I've had my share of Monday mornings when I can't get up.'
It also included a mobile phone number. When one Reddit user contacted the number, they said they got a response to sign up to a "scam" investment scheme.
The billboard was spotted by a festival-goer queuing early for the gates, who shared a photo to Reddit with the caption: 'Does anyone know what this is about / who's it for?
'Just got here to queue for gates opening and haven't seen anyone mention it. Give me ya theories!!!!'
One fan was quick to point out that the same sign appeared in Glasgow recently, fuelling rumours that Scottish singer Lewis Capaldi - who made a surprise return to the stage in May after a hiatus - may be planning a surprise return on one of Glastonbury's stages.
The Someone You Loved star, who has been diagnosed with Tourette's syndrome, was forced to take a break from music after struggling to finish his set at Glastonbury in June 2023.
The legendary festival officially opens today at Worthy Farm in Somerset, with headline performances scheduled from June 27 to June 29.
This year's headliners include The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo.
Elsewhere on the bill are major acts like Charli XCX, Loyle Carner, Rod Stewart, The Prodigy, Doechii, and Raye.
Earlier this month, the full festival schedule was released — but fans noticed several TBA slots still in place.
Now they have a new theory about who else could make a surprise appearance at the legendary festival.
On the 2025 Glastonbury schedule, the Saturday 6.15pm slot has a mysterious act called "Patchwork" pencilled in, and fans have been trying to work out what it means.
It follows a similar mystery in 2023 when Churn Ups were revealed to be the Foo Fighters.
Fans are convinced that Chappell Roan is "Patchwork" after she posted a telling clue on Instagram.

It came after the Pink Pony Club star shared a picture of herself holding a patchwork quilt, and wrote next to it: "Insane vibe."
Dave Grohl also sparked a flurry of excitement after he jetted to the UK earlier this week.
Grohl, 56, sent fans into a spin after posing for a photo with US singer Amanda Palmer at London's Royal Albert Hall.
After grabbing the Foo Fighters legend for a photo, she shared it on social media and told her followers: "Well I'll be damned. Not who I expected to run into backstage at the Yeah Yeah Yeah's show in London tonight, but look, it's Dave Grohl."
The rest of the bill features big-name acts such as Charli XCX, Doechii, Rod Stewart, Loyle Carner, The Prodigy and Raye.

The couple, who were plagued by split rumours earlier this year, have seemingly proved their love is stronger than ever before with a wildly public display of affection. The rapper has travelled to the country for a headline concert this weekend but it seems he is making the most of his free time with wife Bianca whilst in the country. In the eye-popping clip, the couple can be seen dancing close with one another and surrounded by their pals. Strutting his stuff, Kanye had his hands above his head as he danced seductively with wife Bianca placing her hands around his body. The pair appeared to take a dip at the knees as his body began to lower onto hers whilst she stuck her tongue out playfully. Holding her tongue over the rapper's mouth, he soon stuck his own out as they caressed each other with their tongues in a public open-mouth kiss. Bianca appeared to be wearing a skimpy see-through top whilst Kanye kept his eyed hidden by a pair of shades. The couple haven't been spotted out in public as much over the last few weeks with Bianca instead turning up the head with a slew of seductive posts in barely-there underwear and outfits on Instagram. The Aussie model has been sharing several sets of Polaroid photos taken by her husband of late. In all of the snaps, Bianca is stood in front of a white backdrop while showing off her famous curves. Kanye West 'paid' Bianca Censori $100k to wear candy bra and thong in NYC after she 'first told him no' This November will mark the couple's third wedding anniversary. Shortly after Kanye's divorce from Kim Kardashian in 2022, the rapper began dating Bianca. The pair then got hitched just days after his divorce from the SKIMS founder was finalized. Since their nuptials, Kanye and Bianca often step out in sizzling and NSFW displays - often sparking backlash from the public and fans online. Bianca is often seen wearing very little clothing, and has her breasts and private regions on display while out and about. Bianca Censori and Kanye West's relationship Bianca Censori was born on January 5, 1995, in Melbourne, Australia Before her current full-time job, the 30-year-old started a jewelry company called Nylons after leaving high school. After working as a student architect for three years, she completed a master's degree between 2019 and 2020 ahead of moving to Los Angeles. In a radio interview, a childhood friend of Bianca's claimed that Kanye slid into her DMs on Instagram. The rapper reportedly said, "Come and work for me." At which point she says the designer moved to LA to join his company Yeezy as the "head of architecture" - and has been since November 2020. WEDDING BELLS On Friday, October 6, 2023, The Daily Mail reported Kanye and Bianca wed on December 20, 2022. The couple tied the knot under a "confidential marriage license" in the state of California. The two wed in Palo Alto, California, according to the document. The wedding came just one month after Kanye and Kim Kardashian finalized their divorce. 4 The couple are often known for their shocking displays Credit: X/Ye

Westside Cowboy's ramshackle Americana – plus the week's best new tracks

From ManchesterRecommended if you like Pavement, Ezra Furman, Guided By Voices Up next Debut EP out 8 August Westside Cowboy describe their sound as Britainicana. You get what they mean. The winners of this year's Glastonbury Emerging Talent competition are the product of a burgeoning new Manchester underground scene but started out performing Hank Williams and Bob Dylan covers in drummer Paddy Murphy's bedroom. While the vocals locate them firmly in the UK, there's a distinct country/rockabilly undertow to their sound. But equally, Britainicana feels like a slightly ungainly term for music that seems so natural and spontaneous. Recent single Alright Alright Alright rattles along at high speed, its influences buried under a layer of fuzz and feedback and punky vigour, the guitar lurching from the central riff into bursts of noisy abstraction: it sounds like a snatched recording of a band playing live, complete with the thrilling sense that their performance is seconds away from collapsing. The quartet's debut EP is forthcoming, and the first tastes of This Better Be Something Great are more sedate. I've Never Met Anyone I Thought I Could Really Love (Until I Met You) lopes in time-honoured slacker style; Shells starts out as a hushed ballad before unexpectedly bursting into life 90 seconds in. But they're equally marked by a mood of ramshackle invention at odds with the studied, polished air of a lot of current alt-rock. The name, incidentally, comes from the horse riders employed to ensure trains didn't exceed a certain speed in 19th century America: another weird choice, given the velocity Westside Cowboy currently seem to be travelling at. Alexis Petridis Flock of Dimes – Long After Midnight'People say it's not my problem / They say that actions have a consequence,' Bon Iver collaborator Jenn Wasner sings on a beautiful acoustic meditation about offering help against your better judgement. Kieran Hebden + William Tyler – Spider BalladFour Tet shatters the Nashville guitarist's arid playing into kaleidoscopic fragments, creating a tense, near-breathless strobing effect that evokes glimpsing horror in half light. Confidence Man x Jade – GossipGossip's delicious, destructive power is brandished like a weapon on this icy double threat, decorated with enjoyably unexpected acoustic guitar and Jade spitting a very rude word in pure South Shields. Joanne Robertson – GownThe sometime-Dean Blunt collaborator leads her new album with a song that evokes Sinéad O'Connor's Celtic hymnals heard through Grouper's damp-forest haze – with stirring cello by Oliver Coates. John Also Bennett – Ston ElaiónaFar from his formative years in the Ohio noise scene, Bennett channels the stillness and swoop of the view from his new Athens home, in gorgeous, consciousness-tweaking ambient bass flute oscillations. Daniel Avery – Rapture in Blue ft Cecile BelieveThe wildly underrated Canadian singer – and former Sophie collaborator – gets a deserved showcase leading this anguished, expansive and surprisingly pop turn by the British producer. Chuquimamani-Condori – LRC with Pueblo De Dios Capo E DJ edit One half of one of 2025's best records – Los Thuthanaka – blesses us with a 24-track collection of edits. On this highlight, whistles and heartfelt chanted vocals fight against hypnotic pile-driver production.
