Human mind will always be supreme, superior to any AI, India does not see this as concern for job loss: Piyush Goyal
He made these remarks during his interaction at the 'Future Frontier Forum' held in London on Thursday.
'Artificial intelligence is an area that India is absolutely going to adopt. It's going to bring it to our working. We do not see this as an area of concern that will lead to job losses,' the minister said at the event.
He added, 'Given our talent in the country, I think we should open up many, many more avenues to help the world in terms of data, in terms of decoding new possibilities with AI. So we are only looking at it as a need to retrain our people, to re-skill our talent, but adopt it.'
'So at the end of the day, most Indians are convinced the human mind will always be supreme. To get the best of AI, the human mind has created it and will be able to tame it and ultimately will be superior to any kind of AI. That I am absolutely sure,' he said.
Piyush Goyal is on a two-day official visit to the United Kingdom from Wednesday. The visit is aimed at holding key meetings related to the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
This high-level visit highlights India's growing efforts to strengthen its trade and investment partnership with the UK. It comes shortly after the India-UK FTA was announced by the Prime Ministers of both countries last month.
On Thursday, the minister also held a productive meeting with Rachel Reeves, Chancellor of the Exchequer, UK.
In a social media post, the minister said, 'Discussed avenues for collaboration in financial frameworks, sustainable finance, and unlocking new trade opportunities to further strengthen the India-UK economic partnership.'
He also had an engaging discussion with Oliver Prill, CEO of Tide, a business financial platform based in the UK.
'With India's massive strides in the digital world, we discussed the fintech ecosystem, digital empowerment, and fostering SME-led growth across both economies,' Goyal shared. (ANI)

'Any form of encroachment on these rights are unacceptable. We are committed to ensuring a supportive environment for artists to work freely,' he said. He said that the Kerala government will continue to uphold the spirit of artistic liberty and stand as a barrier against censorship and intolerance.

Apart from Brazil, PM Modi will visit Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, and Namibia during the trip, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD PM Modi's trip will begin in Ghana, marking the first visit by an Indian prime minister to the West African nation in over three decades. In Argentina, PM Modi's arrival will be the first by an Indian prime minister in nearly 60 years and will feature his first full bilateral engagement with President Javier Milei. On July 3, PM Modi is scheduled to reach Trinidad and Tobago, making it the first prime minister-level bilateral visit to the Caribbean nation since 1999. This will be PM Modi's second five-nation tour since becoming prime minister. His previous trip of similar scale took place in 2016, when he visited the United States, Mexico, Switzerland, Afghanistan, and Qatar in a single itinerary. In July 2015, PM Modi also undertook an eight-day, six-nation tour that included Russia and five Central Asian countries. Ghana on Tuesday In the first leg of the visit, PM Modi will visit Ghana from July 2 to 3. The MEA said that during the visit, PM Modi will hold talks with the president of Ghana to review the strong bilateral partnership and discuss further avenues to enhance it through economic, energy, and defence collaboration. Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday, Thursday From Ghana, PM Modi will travel to Trinidad and Tobago on a two-day visit from July 3 to 4. During the visit, PM Modi will hold talks with President Christine Carla Kangaloo and Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar. He is also expected to address a joint session of the parliament of the island nation. The visit of the prime minister to Trinidad and Tobago will impart fresh impetus to the deep-rooted and historical ties between the two countries, the MEA said. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Argentina on July 4 In the third leg of his visit, PM Modi will visit Argentina from July 4 to 5. According to the MEA, the prime minister will hold wide-ranging talks with President Javier Milei to further enhance the India-Argentina partnership in key areas, including defence, agriculture, mining, oil and gas, renewable energy, trade, and investment. 'The bilateral visit of the prime minister will further deepen the multifaceted strategic partnership between India and Argentina,' it said in a statement. BRICS Leaders' Summit in Brazil In the fourth leg of his visit, PM Modi will travel to Brazil at the invitation of President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. The prime minister will visit Brazil from July 5 to 8, 2025, to attend the 17th BRICS summit, followed by a state visit. This will be PM Modi's fourth visit to Brazil as the prime minister. The 17th BRICS Leaders' Summit will be held in Rio de Janeiro. 'During the summit, the prime minister will exchange views on key global issues including reform of global governance, peace and security, strengthening multilateralism, responsible use of artificial intelligence, climate action, global health, economic and financial matters,' the MEA said. Bilaterals on BRICS sidelines PM Modi is also likely to hold several bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit. For the state visit to Brazil, PM Modi will travel to Brasilia, where he will hold bilateral discussions with President Lula on broadening the strategic partnership between the two countries in areas of mutual interest, including trade, defence, energy, space, technology, agriculture, health, and people-to-people linkages, the MEA said. Indian PSUs seek further ties with UAE in steel and aluminium sectors
New Delhi: Union steel minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Tuesday met UAE economy minister Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri in Dubai to discuss trade expansion, resource security, and collaborative innovation in steel and aluminium. The two met at a time when India's leading public sector utilities are eyeing business opportunities in West Asia, particularly the UAE. The UAE can play a key role in helping India achieve its target of producing 300 million tonnes of steel by supporting raw material security and providing energy-efficient production systems, said Kumaraswamy in his meeting with the UAE economy minister. 'India and UAE can be strong partners in green steel production and sustainable industrial growth,' he said. Indian PSUs Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), and Metallurgical & Engineering Consultants India Ltd (MECON) are looking to expand their footprint and strengthening ties with the UAE, a statement from Kumaraswamy's office said. SAIL is exploring long-term supply tie-ups and the potential to serve the UAE's infrastructure and industrial sectors with premium Indian steel, as per the statement. Similarly, NMDC, India's largest iron ore producer, is keen to collaborate with UAE-based entities in developing the mining value chain. Meanwhile, MECON, India's premier engineering consultancy, aims to contribute to oil & gas, steel plant development, and smart infrastructure projects across the Gulf. The Union steel minister called for the creation of a joint working group to identify opportunities under the India-UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). 'India does not see the UAE as just a market, but as a strategic partner in reshaping the global industrial landscape,' Kumaraswamy said. 'We invite UAE investors and industry leaders to visit India and experience our steel sector's dynamism firsthand." Since the signing of the India-UAE CEPA in 2022, bilateral merchandise trade has nearly doubled from $43.3 billion in FY21 to $83.7 billion in FY24. A key target of this CEPA is to take the non-oil trade between India and the UAE to $100 billion by 2030.
