July 5 (UPI) -- Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher reunited their band Oasis in Cardiff, Wales, Friday night.
The Gallaghers ended their 16-year hiatus, performing songs like "Hello," "Acquiesce," "Some Might Say," "Morning Glory" and "Wonderwall," in front of 75,000 fans at the Cardiff Principality Stadium, according to TMZ.
"Because we need each other, we believe in one another #oasislive25," the siblings posted on Instagram Saturday.
The Gallaghers formed the band in 1991 and dissolved it in 2009 because they were not getting along.
Friday's concert kicked off their sold-out tour, which will play venues across the United Kingdom and Ireland through Aug. 17.
The North American leg of the tour kicks off Aug. 24 in Toronto and concludes in Mexico City on Sept. 12.

Joely Richardson, Alyssa Milano mourn death of Julian McMahon

July 5 (UPI) -- Julian McMahon's former co-stars Joely Richardson and Alyssa Milano were among the celebrities mourning his recent death at the age of 56. "Woke up to the shocking news of Julian McMahon's passing at 56," Richardson said in an Instagram post Saturday. "I can't believe it. We worked together for many years, covering every possible storyline and then some. Julian could be hysterically funny, was hugely charismatic (drama swirled in his wake), and most of the female population fell for him as 'Christian Troy,'" she said, referring to McMahon's Nip/Tuck character. "I remember our 1st script reading, we knew we were onto something but no clue what a ride we were about to have- Julian suggested we do a meditation to quell nerves ( we didn't do it). I remember presenting with you at the Emmys when our autocue cut out and we somehow improvised our way through it on live tv. I remember the year we both got Golden Globe nominations and our show won best tv series- your mom, sat beside you , beamed with pride. I remember the episode when we all had to age up with prosthetics- how we laughed then, and how it's making me cry today. My enormous condolences to your family and children. You lived a large life my friend." "I'm heartbroken. Julian McMahon was magic. That smile. That laugh. That talent. That presence. He walked into a room and lit it up -- not just with charisma, but with kindness. With mischief. With soulful understanding," Milano wrote on Instagram. "We spent years together on Charmed-years of scenes, stories, and so many in-between moments. He made me feel safe as an actor. Seen as a woman. He challenged me, teased me, supported me. We were so different, and yet somehow we always understood each was more than my TV husband. He was a dear friend." Notable deaths of 2025

Oasis pay tribute to Diogo Jota during 'Live Forever' in first concert in 16 years

Oasis kicked off their reunion tour Friday night in Cardiff, Wales and paid tribute to the late Diogo Jota, who was killed in a car crash in Spain along with his brother, André Silva, on Thursday. As the band finished their performance of "Live Forever," projectors behind the stage displayed an image of Jota from behind in his No. 20 Liverpool jersey. That drew a loud ovation from the sold-out crowd inside Principality Stadium. Oasis frontmen, Liam and Noel Gallagher, are noted fans of Manchester City, Liverpool's Premier League rivals. Advertisement Supporting act Cast honored Jota earlier in the show with lead singer John Power dedicating "Walkaway" to Jota. "This is Walkaway. This one is for Diogo Jota. Take it easy, brother," Power said. Two of Diogo Jota's Liverpool teammates, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson arrive for Saturday's funeral. (Photo by Alex Juarez/Anadolu via Getty Images) (Anadolu via Getty Images) Tributes continue as Jota, Silva are laid to rest The investigation into what caused the crash that killed Jota, 28, and Silva, 25, remains on-going. The Spanish Civil Guard confirmed that the car they were in went off the road near Zamora, Spain. The Lamborghini was found in flames and firefighters were called in to prevent the flames from spreading. Investigators are unsure who was driving the car, and are looking into whether a blown tire led to the crash, which occurred shortly after midnight local time. Advertisement The brothers' bodies were returned to Portugal on Thursday and a wake was held in Gondomar on Friday. Members of the football world, including many current and former teammates were in attendance during Saturday's funeral. Tributes from around the world continued for the brothers in the days after the crash. Portugal teammates João Cancelo and Rúben Neves were in Orlando for the FIFA Club World Cup and were emotional when a moment of silence took place before their match with Al-Hilal against Fluminense on Friday. At Wimbledon, Portuguese tennis players Nuno Borges and Francisco Cabral wore black ribbons during their individual matches on Friday. The All-England Club has a strict all-white dress code for players, but Borges and Cabral were given special permission to wear the ribbons.
