Prakasam police use drones to spread anti-drug message
Ongole: Prakasam district police, in an innovative move, used drones to fly banners with slogans such as "Say No to Drugs" and "Drugs Vaddu Bro" to spread anti-drug message. The drones were operated at all major junctions in the town, and the banners attracted the attention of hundreds of people. Prakasam district superintendent of police A R Damodar has taken the issue of narcotics seriously since the day he assumed charge about a year ago. He has visited several engineering and private colleges to raise awareness. He directed field officers to closely monitor the movements of suspects and take immediate action. The SP added that student, teacher, and parent committees would be established in schools and colleges to conduct large-scale awareness programs on the harmful effects of drug use. He noted that addicts are being admitted to de-addiction centers, while drug suppliers are being identified, with cases registered and action taken. District collector A Tameem Ansaria emphasised the need for collective efforts to make Prakasam district drug-free.
