He was definitely not with Rebecca Gayheart, whom he married in October 2004 and just said — on national news, no less — is the person he reaches out to daily for 'stalwart' support. Nope, even though Gayheart in early March requested the dismissal, without prejudice, of the 2018 divorce petition she had filed against Dane.
Dane revealed in April that he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a.k.a. ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease. Earlier this week, he revealed that he had lost function in his right arm due to the neuromuscular disease and felt his left arm failing.
So who's dating whom? Dane's relationship status is a bit fuzzy.
The 'Grey's Anatomy' alum, 52, has been 'in an on-and-off relationship' with Shirtcliff for more than three years, Entertainment Tonight reported Wednesday. The two 'care deeply for each other,' the outlet said, citing a source who added, 'Eric asked Janell to be there for him during this time, and she wanted to show up for him.'
Shirtcliff, who is a photographer and director, is in pre-production on the film 'Generation Angst' and post-production on the horror flick 'Triton,' according to IMDb.
But — Dane's alleged girlfriend, actor Priya Jain, 27, was 'blindsided' by his appearance at the event with Shirtcliff, 41, a source told Page Six on Thursday.
Jain and Dane met last summer and became 'exclusive' in November 2024, the source said. 'They never broke up.' The two have been photographed arm-in-arm in public and have matching tattoos, and she has spent 'almost every night' at his house since they coupled up, Page Six said. They reportedly were together last weekend.
This three-way confusion is a tiny bit reminiscent of Dane and Gayheart's nude 2009 bathtub video with actor Kari Ann Peniche, which the 'Euphoria' actor discussed in 2019 with Glamour. In the leaked video, the three could be seen bathing together naked — not having sex — and discussing their potential porn names about 15 years into the Gayheart-Dane marriage.
'I don't necessarily think I was breaking any laws and corrupting anybody. We were just three people taking a bath,' he told the magazine. He added, referring at the time to the entirety of his past — including the bathtub video and his addiction to prescribed painkillers — 'I have no regrets nor do I make any apologies for my life experience. It's my life experience and I am at peace with all of it.'
As for Gayheart, she and Dane remain estranged as husband and wife even though she called off the divorce and they are in frequent contact as co-parents to their two daughters.
'I call Rebecca. I talk to her every day,' Dane said Monday on 'Good Morning America,' fighting back tears as he talked about battling ALS. 'We have managed to become better friends and better parents. And she is probably my biggest champion, my most stalwart supporter, and I lean on her.'

Movie Review: In ‘Heads of State,' a buddy comedy with statesmen
Say what you will about the Idris Elba-John Cena vehicle 'Heads of State,' but it's surely the first buddy comedy about the fraying bonds of NATO. The potential collapse of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization plays a surprisingly pivotal role in this fitfully diverting, for-background-noise-only, straight-to-streaming movie. Elba plays the embattled British Prime Minister Sam Clarke, while Cena co-stars as the recently elected U.S. President Will Derringer, a former action star. 'Heads of State,' directed by Ilya Naishuller ('Nobody'), is mostly about their relationship, a tense and adversarial one challenged further when an assassination plot leaves them stranded together in Belarus. But that 'Heads of State,' which debuts Wednesday on Prime Video, is such a mild romp makes it all the more surprising to hear a line uttered like: 'If NATO falls, there's backstop against despots and dictators.'not It's a funny time to release a comedy set around international political disconnection and imperiled Western democracy. But if you were beginning to worry that 'Heads of State' is too timely, don't. Any nods to current events here serve more as reminders of how much 'Heads of State' — like most of Hollywood's output — is unengaged with anything resembling our political reality. You could argue that that's not necessarily a bad thing. You could also argue that the greater sin of 'Heads of State' is underusing Stephen Root. (He plays an expert working for the bad guys.) But the vaguest hints of real-world intrigue only cast a pale light on the movie's mostly lackluster comic chops and uninspired action sequences. The best thing going for 'Heads of State' is that the chemistry between Elba and Cena is solid. The 'Suicide Squad' co-stars trade barbs with a genial ease. Most of the time, those revolve around their characters' divergent histories — Clarke was a commando before becoming a politician — in debates like which one of them is 'gym strong' as opposed to 'strong strong.' That's one of the few decent gags in the script by Josh Applebaum, Andre Nemec and Harrison Query. But one problem in 'Heads of State' goes beyond the high-concept set-up. The best buddy comedies — 'Midnight Run,' '48 Hrs.,' 'The Nice Guys' — are predicated on opposites thrown together. Elba and Cena have their obvious differences. (Cena's Derringer is exaggeratedly optimistic here, too.) But ultimately they're both beefy dudes in suits. As the MI6 agent Noel Bisset, Priyanka Chopra Jones gives the movie a kick. But her scenes are left to the beginning and end of the movie. In between, we're left to wonder where she went, how two political leaders would have such non-existent security and whether a few half-decent jokes are enough to forgive the movie's geopolitical delusions. 'Heads of State,' an Amazon MGM Studios release is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association for sequences of strong violence/action, language and some smoking. Running time: 113 minutes. One and a half stars out of four.

Jerry Bruckheimer Confirms NASCAR-Based Movie Sequel With Tom Cruise

Co-producer of the F1 movie, Jerry Bruckheimer, has confirmed that a sequel to the NASCAR-based movie Days of Thunder is in the pipeline. Starring Tom Cruise, Bruckheimer revealed that an "exciting" movie will be put together for the audience. There has been much talk about a Days of Thunder 2 in the works, especially after Tom Cruise uploaded a throwback post last week on X, marking the 35th anniversary since he worked with the late director Tony Scott. In addition, Cruise also stressed his liking for racing films, which fueled further speculation. Now, Bruckheimer has admitted in an interview with Entertainment Tonight (embedded below) that a part two of Days of Thunder is being worked on. Gordon is excited about the movie, considering the big role it would play in boosting the popularity of the sport. Newsweek Sports reported his comments: "Let's do Days of Thunder 2, I am all for that. Tom Cruise has told me it's gonna happen, so let's make it happen. I can't go back to driving, I am too old for that, so gonna have to be one of our four or all four of our Hendrick drivers, Alex Bowman, Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, William Byron. When I came into NASCAR, Days of Thunder had just come out. It played a huge role in the growth of NASCAR. So let's bring it back." He added: "I've absolutely talked to Tom about it because I want him to do the project, and we want to be a part of it if it were to happen." Gordon believes that with the boom in the culture of docuseries and online streaming services, this is another area NASCAR could capitalize on. He said: "There's this kind of resurgence, which is awesome, and there's also a whole new landscape of opportunities with streaming services and docuseries and also the big screen, which I think it would be amazing to do. "I am seeing just a lot more momentum in projects like this coming through NASCAR and coming to Hendrick Motorsports and just more interest. So that's good, right? It talks a lot about where the sport is at, where it's heading."

Here's what Priyanka, Idris and John had to say about Heads of State. BFOZ: Heads of State was a mix of action and silliness. So, we need to know — who was the biggest goofball on set and who was most likely to mess up a take? BFOZ: Priyanka — John and Idris share what feels like an enemies-to-lovers type of bromance in the film — did you ever feel like a third wheel working with these two unlikely best friends? Idris: That's really kind but, the truth is when Priyanka walked on became the sidemen. We did. John: [Idris and I] had weeks to warm up, we were shooting with each other for weeks, we had a camera dynamic. We got each other's social profile. [Priyanka] walks on in one day and it's like — alright this is a power trio. BFOZ: And finally, you've all had your fair share of action roles, but was there anything that you learnt from each other about playing big, cool action stars? Priyanka: We were thrown a lot of things and retakes many, many times but working with pros is so amazing because everyone knows their job and how to do it safely and do it well. So you're never nervous when you're doing action, that someone's going to get hurt. I never felt that on set and that only comes from that kind of experience. John: A lot of the action in this movie is stylistic, but it's also action comedy. You get notes on how to do the action and I love watching professionals adjust to feedback and not be able to just fight but because it is action comedy, there had to be a lot of emotion with the action. Watching [Priyanka and Idris] take notes and apply feedback were notes and there was a lot of feedback, seeing the choices they make when given the direction — sometimes an ambiguous direction — is interesting.
