Jessie J clarifies cancer surgery update: ‘I don't have my results yet'
Jessie J is setting the record straight after fans misunderstood her recent update about undergoing surgery for breast cancer. The 37-year-old singer shared a post earlier this week that many took as confirmation she was cancer-free. Now, she's clarified: she's still waiting on her post-op results.
'You misunderstood my post,' Jessie wrote in an Instagram Story. 'I said 'cancer has all gone' as a positive affirmation, not a confirmed fact. I don't have my results yet.'
The singer underwent surgery just six nights ago and emphasised that recovery is still ongoing. 'I added the fingers-crossed emoji, hoping people would understand. I wasn't being literal,' she explained. 'The cancer journey isn't that simple.'
Earlier, Jessie had shared a candid list of 'pros and cons' following her surgery. Under the pros, she included light-hearted and hopeful reflections like 'cancer has all gone,' 'I can watch Love Island with no guilt,' and 'my mum lives with us.' She also credited her partner, Chanan Colman, and their two-year-old son Sky for giving her comfort during this time.
In the cons section, Jessie opened up about the emotional and physical toll. She wrote about missing her usual role as a hands-on mom, the lingering fear of not knowing if the cancer is truly gone, and the discomfort of healing. 'Sneezing is a myth.' she joked. 'That hurts.'
Despite the confusion, Jessie is staying positive and transparent with her followers as she continues her recovery. 'I pray the results will bring good news,' she wrote, reminding fans that healing especially from cancer is rarely a straight path.

Jessie J undergoes breast cancer surgery and shares emotional hospital updates on social media
British singer Jessie J has revealed she recently underwent surgery following her breast cancer diagnosis earlier this month. In an emotional social media post on Monday night, the 37-year-old shared photos and videos from her hospital stay, capturing intimate moments both before and after her surgery. Describing her post as showing 'the honest lows and highs of the last 48 hours,' Jessie thanked her doctor, surgeon, and 'all the nurses who cared for me.' She is now recovering at home while awaiting test results. Jessie J first shared her diagnosis in early June, receiving widespread public support. She had planned to undergo surgery shortly after performing at Capital's Summertime Ball, held on June 15 at Wembley Stadium. Her update featured candid clips, including a video of her singing while waiting to be taken into surgery. In another moment, she joked that the fluid in her post-surgery drainage bottle looked like a 'goji berry smoothie.' She also shared touching images of her partner, basketball player Chanan Safir Colman, and their son visiting her in hospital. Throughout the post, Jessie offered encouragement to others facing health battles, writing, 'Still hugging everyone going through something tough right now. We all got this!' Messages of support quickly followed across social media. TV presenter Gaby Roslin commented, 'Sending you strength, energy and so much love you beautiful soul.' Fellow musician Marvin Humes added, 'I know Sky will be keeping you smiling and giving you strength… You're an absolute warrior.' Jessie J previously explained that going public with her diagnosis helped her process the experience and show solidarity with others going through similar challenges.
