Teddi Mellencamp's Sister Justice Calls Her 'The Strongest Person' In Update After Brain Tumor Surgery
Justice's update came after Teddi's estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, updated fans following her surgery, revealing that it went well.
Teddi shared devastating news about her health last Wednesday, revealing doctors found multiple tumors on her brain, which required surgery.
Justice took to her Instagram Story to post a heart-wrenching update about her sister's surgery.
She shared a black-and-white photo of her watching Teddi as she slept on her hospital bed. In the post's caption, Justice described her sister as the "strongest person" she knew.
The 40-year-old wrote, "Watching a loved one suffer is horrific. I've tried to get back to everyone who has reached out & I know Teddi will share her journey when she is ready."
Justice added, "She is by far the strongest person I know. So many emotions as I travel home today but her village is the best one I've ever seen and I'm grateful for them! Your prayers are everything. Thank you."
Justice's update came a few days after Teddi's estranged husband Arroyave eased fans' worries by revealing her surgery "went well."
Arroyave posted a brief but positive message on Instagram Stories in response to several concerned fans' inquiries about his estranged wife's well-being.
He wrote, "So many people asking for updates. All I will say right now is surgery went well."
However, Arroyave shared that he had never seen Teddi "in so much pain." He added, "She's finally getting some needed rest," before concluding, "I know she is so grateful for the outpouring of love."
Teddi filed for divorce from Arroyave in November 2024, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason. The estranged couple shares three children: daughters Slate, 12, and Dove, 4, and son Cruz, 10.
On February 12, Teddi revealed she would undergo an operation to remove tumors found on her brain.
In a post on her Instagram page, "The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills" alum, who has always been open about her health struggles, wrote, "For the last several weeks I've been dealing with severe and debilitating headaches."
She added, "Yesterday the pain was unbearable and required hospitalization. After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least 6 months."
The 43-year-old shared that two of the surgeries would be surgically removed on that Wednesday while "the remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date."
The television personality also wrote, "I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better health."
She concluded, "Thank you to everybody who has reached out, and to everyone who has supported me along this journey."
Hours after announcing she would undergo surgery, Teddi Mellencamp shared more updates on her Instagram Story.
In one post, she shared a video of her friend shaving off her hair and wrote, "I'm gonna have this look on my bucket list."
She added, "My best look. I hate to break it to my brother but once I'm allowed to wash my hair and it's not all spiky, I think I've taken you for a run for your money, Hud."
Teddi concluded, "I'll see you tomorrow and we'll see who wore it best."
The mother of three shared another Instagram Story update revealing that her friend Kyle Richards was with her as she prepared for surgery.
Others who were present included Arroyave and country musician Morgan Wade.
Teddi Mellencamp has been open about her skin cancer journey, using social media to raise awareness.
After her 2022 melanoma diagnosis, she underwent multiple surgeries. Despite early-stage treatment, she was later diagnosed with stage II melanoma and required further procedures.
In 2023, new spots prompted biopsies, and she partnered with the Melanoma Research Foundation to advocate for awareness.
While setbacks like failed immunotherapy led to more surgeries, Mellencamp remained determined.
Her story emphasizes the importance of early detection, health advocacy, and resilience, inspiring others to take proactive action regarding their well-being.

Watch the red sculpture of Trump emerge from a NYC manhole
"I installed the sculpture in New York because this is where he built his image, his empire, his legend," artist James Colomina told USA TODAY. President Donald Trump appeared in New York City on July 23, or rather, a characterized version of him did. French artist James Colomina installed a life-size sculpture of the president, titled "Donald," in Manhattan on the morning of July 23. The artist told USA TODAY that he installed the sculpture around 7 a.m. local time, though it has since been removed. The bright red sculpture, made of resin, depicted Trump from the waist up, emerging from a manhole, also part of the sculpture. Wearing a suit and tie, the statue portrayed a serious-looking and pursed-lipped Trump looking upward at the skyscraper above him. Under the manhole cover lid, a small red rat peered outward. "I installed the sculpture in New York because this is where he built his image, his empire, his legend," Colomina told USA TODAY via email. "A city he tried to conquer with golden towers and brutal slogans. I wanted this image – a red body rising from the sewers – to disturb that landscape." The sculpture was created in about three weeks at his studio in France, Colomina said. He then disassembled and transported it to New York, and later reassembled the sculpture on site. Colomina posted a photo of the sculpture to his Instagram story on July 23, with the caption "Make America Grime Again," a reference to Trump's popular motto, "Make America Great Again." Neither the White House nor Trump immediately responded for comment about the sculpture when contacted by USA TODAY on July 23. Where was the sculpture located? The sculpture was located at the corner of East 42nd Street and 2nd Avenue in Midtown Manhattan, in front of The News Building, which is about a mile away from Trump Tower. It was removed by a maintenance worker for SL Green Realty Corp., the company that owns the skyscraper. "The sculpture is installed right across from the Chrysler Building, a symbol of power, elevation, and architectural pride," Colomina told USA TODAY. "I liked the idea of creating a stark contrast between this vertical monument and the grotesque figure emerging from the sewers." Who is James Colomina? Colomina is a street artist, known for his bright red, life-size sculptures, which have been installed in Tokyo, Barcelona, Paris, and many other cities. "The 'Colomina Red,' the artist's visual signature, embodies the anger, passion, and urgency of the issues he tackles," Colomina's artist biography on the Galeries Bartoux website states. "James Colomina favors a clandestine, spontaneous approach: He places his works directly in the street, without prior announcement, transforming everyday spaces into platforms for artistic reflection." Cindy Crawford has some fans 'disappointed' after spending time in Muskoka with Logan Paul. What other celebrities vacation in the Canadian region?
Cindy Crawford is back in the Muskoka region, this time with a guest who's left some of her fans "disappointed." Over the weekend, the 59-year-old supermodel shared a few photos taken at a lakeside property in Ontario, sparking some controversy online. "What happens at the lake, stays at the lake," Crawford captioned her post, which featured a photo of herself in a boxing stance with 30-year-old YouTube personality Logan Paul. She included a hashtag for "Camp Salter," referring to the lakeside property Canadian billionaire Jamie Salter, 63, owns in Muskoka. The other pictures in her Instagram upload showed Paul posing alongside Crawford's husband Rande Gerber, 63, and Salter, along with a larger group photo featuring multiple people wearing hoodies with "Camp Salter" written on the chest. In the comments section, some showed their appreciation for Crawford's return to Ontario cottage country. "Welcome home!" wrote the Discover Muskoka Instagram account, along with blue and green heart emojis. "So cool, welcome to Canada," one person added. But many of the comments called out Crawford for spending time with Paul, who has faced numerous controversies since he started posting on social media more than a decade ago. Some fans expressed shock over the post, noting they'd now be unfollowing the model. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Cindy Crawford (@cindycrawford) "Embarrassing! You're Cindy Crawford. What the h— are you doing with Logan Paul? Wow," one person questioned. "Wow, MAGA lovers in Muskoka?!? This is very disappointing. You are visitors to our beautiful country that your leader wants to annex. This post ain't it," someone else chimed in. "Cindy….sister… delete this," another added. "Who would've ever thought I'd have to unfollow Cindy Crawford," someone shared. Over the years, Paul has faced numerous instances of backlash, from a December 2017 incident where he vlogged inside Japan's "suicide forest" to creating a health concern in mid-2023 with his Prime energy drinks. He and brother Jake Paul, 28, were also among the surprise celebrities who attended U.S. President Donald Trump's inauguration this past January. The Muskoka region has long been a hot spot for celebrities looking to cool off amid warm summer weather. For years, the Ontario region has offered people a great chance to get in some swimming time and revel in outdoor barbecues as they enjoy the hotter months of the year. Between Canadian stars like Justin Bieber and Shania Twain, to A-listers including David and Victoria Beckham, it's an area that's often frequented by some of the most recognizable names in entertainment. Below are some of the many big names who have enjoyed trips to the Muskoka region over the years. Shania Twain Last October, the 59-year-old country-pop icon celebrated the Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend in the area. The "Man! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Shania Twain (@shaniatwain) "There isn't anywhere more beautiful than Canada in the fall, and there isn't a better feeling than being warm and cozy in the crisp, cold air," she wrote. "Thankful for friends and family and this fabulous view. Heaven!" Canadian fans (and fellow celebrities) were quick to echo Twain's love of Canada. "Happy Canadian Thanksgiving!" commented fellow Canadian songstress Avril Lavigne. "It's like God dumped bright colours on all the trees. Growing up in northern Ontario, it was my favourite season," wrote a fan. While Twain spent her younger years in Timmins, Ont., she now spends some of her time a bit further south, in Ontario's Muskoka cottage country. Twain reportedly has a home in Lake of Bays. Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber Crawford and Gerber are frequent visitors of the Muskoka region. They posted an intimate sneak peek inside their Lake Muskoka cottage, nicknamed "Gerber Point Lodge." "Thanks for another great summer," Crawford captioned her post, alongside a sun emoji. Austin Butler View this post on Instagram A post shared by Victoria Beckham (@victoriabeckham) Victoria Beckham also took to social media last summer to share a video featuring husband David, son Cruz and Elvis star Austin Butler lifting a fallen tree trunk above their heads. "As much as I adore the excitement of cities, it's rural Canada that has always had my heart," the Hamilton, Ont.-born star said in a press release that year.
