A former reality TV star has been accused of murdering her partner, who was found with his head cut off.
Beauty and the Geek's Tamika Chesser, 34, was arrested on June 19 after police responded to reports of a fire at her home that she shares with boyfriend Julian Daniel Story, 39, in Port Lincoln, Australia.
However, after emergency services arrived at the scene, Story's head was found dismembered on the bathroom floor of the apartment.
After being arrested at her home and later charged with murder and police assault, Chesser was also charged with performing an act or omission intended to result in human remains being less likely to be found.
Now, in a press conference, detective Darren Fielke has revealed that Story's head is still missing.
Speaking to reporters, detective Fielke said it was 'crucial' that Story's head was returned to his family so they could hold a funeral, Australia's ABC reported.
However, he added: 'We have not recovered the head of Julian Story.'
CCTV images and video released by police appears to show Chesser walking three dogs and carrying a bag while seemingly wearing a hijab-style head covering.
Detective Fielke is appealing for information to help track the 34-year-old's movements during the week of the alleged murder.
A spokesperson for Mr Story's family thanked police and first responders for their 'compassion and professionalism during this devastating time', MailOnline reported.
'We are navigating an unimaginable loss, and your care has brought comfort amid the chaos,' the spokesperson said.
'We are also deeply grateful to our family and friends and this extraordinary community whose kindness and support have helped carry us through. Your prayers, presence, and quiet strength mean more than words can say.'
According to official documents obtained by ABC, on the day of Chesser's arrest on June 19, a neighbour noticed black smoke coming from her property at roughly 1.30pm.
After asking Chesser, who appeared outside, what she was doing, she said 'nothing' before taking her dogs for a walk.
The neighbour then became concerned and took a bucket of water to try and put out the fire in the home.
When he entered the home, he's said to have found a bundle of clothing rags and debris.
Later, when police entered the home after firefighters extinguished the small fire, Story's 'severely burned and disfigured' remains were found.
Chesser was apparently 'catatonic and unresponsive' as she sat in a garden chair in the rear yard after police entered the property. More Trending
Police are alleging that Chesser murdered Story at roughly midnight on June 17.
Chesser was refused bail in court last week and a committal hearing has been scheduled for December.
The 34-year-old was the runner-up on the 2010 season of Beauty and the Geek Australia.

Australian reality TV star charged with decapitating boyfriend

Police are seeking the head of an alleged murder victim after a former reality television star was accused of murdering and decapitating her boyfriend. Officers discovered the burnt and dismembered remains of Julian Story, 39, on the bathroom floor of an apartment in the coastal city of Port Lincoln last Tuesday when responding to reports of a small fire. Tamika Sueann-Rose Chesser, a 34-year-old former contestant on Beauty and the Geek Australia, was arrested two days later and charged with murder. Police found Ms Chesser sitting in the back garden of the property 'in a catatonic and unresponsive state,' according to court documents. Ms Chesser, a model and actress, is also charged with disposing of human remains to pervert the course of justice and assaulting a police officer. Detectives have issued an appeal to the public to find Mr Story's missing head which they said was removed after his alleged murder on June 17 at approximately midnight. Detective Superintendent Darren Fielke, in a press conference on Friday, said: 'While I won't provide any further detail about that at this time, I can tragically say that we have not recovered the head of Julian Story.' 'I can only imagine, and I want you to imagine, the grief this news is causing Julian's family. 'Recovering Julian's head to return it to his family so they can have a peaceful outcome, have a funeral and lay him to rest is a really important aspect for us.' Detective Superintendent Fielke said there was no obvious motive at this stage and Ms Chesser was compliant at the time of the arrest. Police have released CCTV footage and still images to the public of a woman alleged to be Ms Chesser walking through Port Lincoln with her dogs after the alleged murder in the hope of determining where the head may have been hidden. The woman can be seen dressed in full body black dress and a black head covering, and walking down the pavement with three dogs. 'I'm appealing to local residents to review CCTV or dash cam footage which they may have, which may assist the investigation,' Superintendent Fielke said. A court order anonymising the identity of Ms Chesser was lifted on Friday in Adelaide Magistrates Court by Magistrate Ben Sale. The suppression order, which had also prevented the publication of the alleged circumstances of his death and the investigation. Ms Chesser, who appeared in court via video link on Friday, was refused bail when she first appeared last week and is being held under a mental health detention order. She will next appear for a committal hearing in December. The bereaved family of Mr Story has thanked police, emergency workers, family, friends and the community for their support. 'We are navigating an unimaginable loss, and your care has brought comfort amid the chaos,' the family said in a statement. Kiya-May Chesser, the defendant's sister, said her family has been left reeling from reports their loved one had been charged with her murder. Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, she said: 'Please report how my sister is in a mental psychosis... This is not her... She would never do these things.' She added that her sister had experienced a 'life of trauma and abuse, and now this – it has fried her brain'. Ian Parrott, the South Australia Police assistant commissioner, said there were a lot of unanswered questions in the investigation and it was a complex crime scene 'so it will take some time to understand the exact nature of what's occurred'.

Humiliated Putin loses warplanes worth £148,000,000 despite stepping up security

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Vladimir Putin has lost four warplanes worth £37 million each despite stepping up their defences after Ukraine's Operation Spiderweb. A pair of Su-34 fighters were destroyed and two more damaged after an attack on on Marinovka military airfield in Volgograd. Ukraine used long range drones to fly more than 200 miles to inflict the latest £148 million blow to Putin's aerial firepower. It came less than a month after Russia supposedly tightened its military air base security after 40-plus strategic bombers and spy planes were hit in Ukraine's Operation Spiderweb. Russia responded by hitting Ukrainian civilians with a strike on a 21-storey residential block in Odesa, killing a married couple and leaving at least 14 others wounded including children aged three and seven. Furious Russian military analysts confirmed the damage to the Su-34 multi-role fighters used on the frontline for bombing missions against Ukraine, including dropping guided aerial bombs. The latest attack was admitted by pro-war Russian Telegram channel Fighterbomber which raged that the hit 'could and should have been prevented'. 'There is no point in commenting on Marinovka….and it would be nice if not only the [Ukrainians] were held accountable….otherwise, it will continue like this.' The channel expressed fury at the 'multi-billion dollar' losses Putin's forces are suffering. Ukraine's SBU security service said: 'The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces and the SBU used long-range drones to attack Russian fighter jets. 'The attack also caused a fire in the technical and operational part of the enemy airfield, which is a critical infrastructure for a military facility. 'This is where the enemy prepares aircraft for flights, carries out their routine maintenance and repair work.' Ukraine staged the successful strike despite Russia reportedly boosting security around its key air bases. The Su-34s are the backbone of Russia's tactical strike aviation. In Operation Spiderweb drones were launched from trucks positioned close to at least four Russian airfields. In Odessa, fire swept through a residential building after the Russia strike. More Trending The bodies of a married couple – sleeping when Putin's forces struck – were pulled from the rubble. At least 14 were wounded in the strike, with dozens evacuated. Putin has repeatedly targeted civilians in a sign that he has no intention of seeking peace and intends to carry on with his bid to invade and subjugate Ukraine. 'A couple was killed – their bodies were pulled from the rubble of a damaged apartment building,' said Ukraine's national police. Ecuador's most wanted Narco found cowering under kitchen counter

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video A criminal who escaped from prison in late 2023 was found in an underground bunker only accessible through a kitchen counter. 45-year-old Jose Adolfo Villamar, known as 'Fito', is the suspected leader of Los Choneros, Ecuador's largest criminal gang. He's now facing possible extradition to the US on seven charges issued against him in April this year. Villamar was convicted of murder and supplying the Mexican Sinaloa Cartel with tonnes of cocaine in 2011. But he escaped from Guayaquil Regional Prison 18 months ago, and the trail went cold until earlier this month. In early June, several members of his inner circle, including his brother and relatives of his partner, were arrested for allegedly laundering £17.5 million. He was found hiding in his hometown of Manta, with the Ecuadorian Army sharing images of its impressive layout on social media. Interior Minister John Reimberg said soldiers used an excavator to access the bunker during a 10-hour military operation. President Daniel Noboa called Fito one of the main targets of his war against organised crime in the country, which has one of the highest homicide rates in Latin America. 'We have done our part to proceed with Fito's extradition to the United States; we are awaiting their response,' he said. The government had issued a £727,730 reward for information leading to the gang leader's arrest. Following his recapture, Fito was taken to Ecuador's maximum-security La Roca prison in Guayaquil to resume his 34-year sentence for drug trafficking, murder, and organised crime, imposed in 2011. In April, the US government issued seven charges against Fito, including conspiracy to distribute cocaine internationally, use of firearms, and smuggling arms. More Trending The US Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctioned Los Choneros and their leader in February 2024. Brian E. Nelson, Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, said: 'Drug trafficking gangs such as Los Choneros, many with ties to powerful drug cartels in Mexico, threaten the lives and livelihoods of communities in Ecuador and throughout the region. 'We stand in support of Ecuador in its fight to combat drug trafficking, curb the proliferation of prison gangs and prison violence, and take back its streets.' The extradition process to the US is ongoing. Get in touch with our news team by emailing us at webnews@ For more stories like this, check our news page.
