Timothy Simons Says It Was ‘Really Fun' to Film 'Percy Jackson' Series Because His Kids Were So ‘Passionate' About Books (Exclusive)
As the hit Disney+ original series — based on the popular books by Rick Riordan — returns for its second season, the Nobody Wants This star will play the recurring role of Tantalus, a newly appointed activities director at Camp Half-Blood, Variety reported in August.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE ahead of his Coors Light 2025 Super Bowl ad, Simons, 46, says that the role was especially exciting for his twin 13-year-olds — who had just picked up the book series for the first time a few months before he was cast.
'They loved them,' the actor says of his kids' relationship to the books. 'It's very fun to know that I can do something my kids are into.'

The role marks a new adventure for the actor, who is best known for his recurring character across all seven seasons of the raunchy comedy Veep, playing foul-mouthed White House staffer Jonah Ryan.
'We haven't shown them Veep yet for very obvious reasons,' Simons tells PEOPLE. 'But this was really fun for them ... to see something that they're passionate about that I got to be in.'
The actor adds that the young cast members of Percy Jackson 'were really gracious' when he told them about his kids' love of the book series.
'I brought up some books and the cast all signed the books,' says Simons, adding that his kids 'were over the moon.'
!
'I don't know how long those positive vibes are going to last,' jokes the dad about his teenage kids. 'There are a lot of emotions running around my house, and usually they're directed at me.'
In addition to Simons, the series will welcome a host of new cast members for season 2: The Deliverance's Andra Day as the goddess Athena; The Half Of It's Daniel Diemer as Percy's Cyclops half-brother Tyson and Resident Evil's Tamara Smart as daughter of Zeus Thalia Grace.
Walker Scobell will return to the series as Percy, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth Chase and Aryan Simhadri as Grover Underwood, as well as Toby Stephens and Virginia Kull, who play Percy's parents.
Simons tells PEOPLE it was particularly fun to work on the set of Percy Jackson because many of the adults on the show 'get to be the fools' — while 'everything is deadly serious' for the younger characters.
'The adults get to be a little bit scary in moments and goofy,' says the actor. 'We can really have fun and be a little bit bigger — because essentially I was doing mask work. I had two and a half hours in the makeup chair every morning.'
'I had a really wonderful time,' he says.

Terry Bradshaw, Aaron Rodgers Do Not Agree Politically
Terry Bradshaw, Aaron Rodgers Do Not Agree Politically originally appeared on The Spun. Terry Bradshaw and Aaron Rodgers have some drama brewing heading into the 2025 season. Bradshaw, a four-time Super Bowl champion, made it clear that he wasn't a big fan of Rodgers, who signed with his Pittsburgh Steelers. Bradshaw said earlier this year that he wished Rodgers would just stay in California and "chew" on some bark. "That's a joke. That to me is just a joke," Bradshaw said of Pittsburgh's interest in Rodgers on 103.7 The Buzz back in May. "What are you gonna do? Bring him in for one year, are you kidding me? "That guy needs to stay in California. Go somewhere and chew on bark and whisper to the gods out there." Rodgers, meanwhile, responded to Bradshaw at training camp over the weekend. His response was pretty classy. "I've known Terry for a long time, being a part of FOX," Rodgers said, speaking to NFL Network's Kyle Brandt. "Terry's a legend. He's an absolute legend. He won four Super Bowls. He's had a legendary career in the media. "But Terry, like a lot of people, doesn't know me. So he's got an idea of what he thinks about me based on what I've done, the documentary, what I've said, darkness retreat, whatever the hell you want to talk about." While Rodgers and Bradshaw might have a lot in common on the football field, they've said pretty different things politically over the years. Bradshaw announced that he left the Republican Party, choosing to be an independent. He criticized President Trump, too. 'I've been a Republican, but now I'm a registered independent. I don't want to alienate anyone, and the minute you say, 'I'm a Democrat' or 'I'm Republican,' you're kicking off the other side. I want the best person [in the White House], and I'll pick the one who's most like the way I feel,' he announced. Bradshaw took issue with how President Trump criticized NFL players for kneeling for the anthem. "This is America. If our country stands for anything, folks, it's freedom. People died for that freedom. I'm not sure if our President understands those rights—that every American has the right to speak out and to protest. Believe me, these athletes do love this great country of ours," Bradshaw stated. He added: "Personally, I think our President should concentrate on North Korea and healthcare rather than ripping into athletes and the NFL." Rodgers, meanwhile, has shown his support for President Trump over the years, even posting a photo of himself shaking hands with POTUS on social media. He said it was "priceless." Rodgers has said that he would like to get to know Bradshaw, so hopefully that'll happen before the 2025 NFL season. But the duo might have some disagreements in the world of politics. Terry Bradshaw, Aaron Rodgers Do Not Agree Politically first appeared on The Spun on Jul 27, 2025 This story was originally reported by The Spun on Jul 27, 2025, where it first appeared.

'Bachelorette' alum Hannah Brown marries Adam Woolard in France: ‘Mr. and Mrs. Woolard'
The couple exchanged vows at Domaine du Mont Leuze on Saturday, July 26. 7:25 Hannah Brown is officially off the market! Former "The Bachelorette" star announced she married Adam Woolard over the weekend. In a joint Instagram post on Sunday, Brown shared a stunning wedding photo with Woolard, introducing themselves as "Mr. and Mrs. Woolard 🤍." The nuptials took place on Saturday at Domaine du Mont Leuze in France, attended by 101 guests, according to People. "We wanted something really timeless and classic, and really just the celebration of our love with our friends and family," Brown told the outlet. For the special day, Brown wore a corseted ball gown with intricate leaf embroidery, paired with Jimmy Choo Staz Mesh Bow Pointed Pumps, while Woolard looked sharp in a classic black tuxedo. "I feel like it is so classic, timeless, but also feels a little unique. I love it," Brown shared. "I always knew I wanted to take up space on my wedding day because there's so many times in life, especially as women, that we feel like we need to be smaller. On my wedding day, I didn't want to feel that at all. I feel like a princess, and I feel like that's exactly how you should feel on your wedding day." Woolard also expressed his excitement, telling People he had always envisioned the moment of seeing Brown walk down the aisle. "I have always had a very clear picture of standing up at the altar and looking out at the audience and really connecting with everybody," Woolard said. "But then seeing Hannah walk down, I think is something that I've always had a very clear picture of and how I would feel in that moment. And I just, as a man, knowing that I'm going to get married, I've always had that image in my mind." The couple, who chose to live apart before their wedding, shared that they're looking forward to moving in together and "putting down roots" in Nashville. "We're really focusing on making this house a home together," Brown shared. "Spending time with our families and just having a little bit of a slower pace for just a little bit." Brown first gained recognition on season 23 of "The Bachelor" in 2018, finishing in the top seven, before becoming the lead on season 15 of "The Bachelorette." Brown met Woolard on a dating app, and they announced their engagement in August 2023, sharing a sweet carousel of photos on Instagram, including one where they touched foreheads as Brown showed off her engagement ring. "so happy," she wrote in the caption at the time. "i love our steady love. ❤️." In addition to "The Bachelorette," Brown also competed on season 28 of " Dancing with the Stars," winning the competition with professional dancer Alan Bersten.
