What is a Turquoise alert?
Arizona's Turquoise Alert system was created under Emily's Law, passed in May 2025 after the death of Emily Pike, a missing San Carlos Apache teen. The law was designed to address gaps in alert systems for missing persons under 65, particularly at-risk individuals and tribal members.
Turquoise Alerts are issued when a person under 65 goes missing under unexplained or suspicious circumstances, and authorities believe they may be in danger or accompanied by someone dangerous.
This is the first statewide Turquoise Alert issued since the system was established.
How is a Turquoise Alert different from an Amber Alert?
A Turquoise Alert differs from an Amber Alert primarily in who it aims to help and the circumstances involved.
While Amber Alerts are issued only for children under 18 who are believed to have been abducted and are in immediate danger, Turquoise Alerts apply to missing and endangered people under the age of 65, including tribal members, who have disappeared under suspicious or unexplained circumstances.
Importantly, Turquoise Alerts do not require proof of abduction, only that the individual may be in danger or accompanied by someone potentially harmful.

4 years on, man left with disability after accident awarded Rs 30 lakh compensation
Gurgaon: The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) on Thursday awarded Rs 30.7 lakh compensation to a 34-year-old accountant, who was left with disabilities after a road accident involving a truck four years ago. "Accident is a great trauma in itself… Melancholy and suffering become companions of the victim," MACT-Gurgaon's presiding officer Sunil Kumar Dewan observed in the July 31 ruling. Naveen Soni, a resident of Kankrola in Gurgaon, was riding his motorcycle home from work on July 8, 2021, when a Punjab-registered truck struck his vehicle near Jhajjar Bypass Road around 9:40pm. The truck driver fled the site immediately after the collision. Soni, grievously injured and bedridden for several months after, was initially treated at a Farrukhnagar hospital and was later transferred to the privately run Paras Hospital in the city. He suffered from permanent walking abnormalities and lost his job. "Along with financial loss, he also suffered physical and mental trauma," Dharma Sharma, Soni's counsel, argued before the tribunal. The defence – comprising truck driver Vijay Kumar, Suraj Transport Service and ICICI Lombard Insurance Company – contested the compensation claim on multiple grounds. Rajesh Bhardwaj, representing the truck driver and the transport company, argued that his clients were being falsely implicated and questioned the high compensation amount. Deepak Gupta, counsel for the insurance company, argued that details of the truck and its registration number were not mentioned in the original FIR. He also raised objections on Soni's age and salary drawn by him before the accident. But Soni's counsel presented an eyewitness – Bijender, who runs a scrap shop near the accident site. Bijender said in his testimony that he saw the accident and had noted down the truck's registration number. A day later, the shop owner told the tribunal, he provided details about the truck and the accident to cops who were investigating the case. Noting these details, the tribunal's presiding officer on Thursday ruled in favour of Soni and directed the truck driver, the transport company and the insurance firm to jointly pay Rs 30.7 lakh as compensation along with 7.5% annual interest.

Achraf Hakimi rape trial latest: Will PSG soccer star, Morocco footballer go to jail?
French prosecutors on Friday called for Paris Saint-Germain star Achraf Hakimi to face trial for the alleged rape of a woman in 2023 which the Moroccan international denies. The Nanterre prosecutor's office told AFP that they had requested that the investigating judge refer the rape charge to a criminal court. "It is now up to the investigating magistrate to make a decision within the framework of his order," the prosecutor's office told AFP in a statement. Hakimi, 26, played a major role in PSG 's run to their first Champions League title, the full-back scoring the opener in the 5-0 rout of Inter Milan in the final in May. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Greece: New Container Houses (Prices May Surprise You) Container House Search Now Hakimi, who helped Morocco to their historic progress to the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup, was charged in March, 2023 with raping a 24-year-old woman. Hakimi allegedly paid for his accuser to travel to his home on February 25, 2023, in the Paris suburb of Boulogne-Billancourt while his wife and children were away on holiday. Live Events The woman went to a police station following the encounter alleging rape and was questioned by police. Although the woman refused to make a formal accusation, prosecutors decided to press charges against the player. She told police at the time that she had met Hakimi in January 2023 on Instagram. On the night in question she said she had travelled to his house in a taxi paid for by Hakimi. She told police Hakimi had started kissing her and making non-consensual sexual advances, before raping her, a police source told AFP at the time. She said she managed to break free to text a friend who came to pick her up. Contacted by AFP after Friday's development Hakimi's lawyer Fanny Colin described the call by prosecutors for a trial as "incomprehensible and senseless in light of the case's elements". "We, along with Achraf Hakimi, remain as calm as we were at the start of the proceedings. "If these requisitions were to be followed, we would obviously pursue all avenues of appeal," she continued. According to Colin, her client had "been the target of an attempted extortion". "Nothing in this case suggests an attempted extortion," Rachel-Flore Pardo, the lawyer representing the woman, said. "My client welcomes this news with immense relief," she told AFP. "We will not tolerate any smear or destabilisation campaign, as is unfortunately still too often the case for women who have the courage to report the rape of which they are victims," she added. Who is Hakimi? The son of a cleaning lady and a street vendor, both Moroccans who have lived in Spain since the 1980s, Hakimi was born in Getafe, a southern suburb of Madrid. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 Update: Gayatri reveals Angad, Pari and Ritik are not Tulsi and Mihir's biological kids after Angad gets arrested
The latest episode of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 starts with police reaching the Shanti Niketan to arrest Angad. Mihir, Tulsi and the entire family ask the Inspector the reason behind arresting Angad and he reveals that they are arresting him for drink and drive. He further reveals that the blood test reports also prove that he was drunk while driving and caused the accident. But Angad denies the allegations and requests him parents to believe him. Tulsi refuses to trust him after hearing about the blood test reports and starts beating him. However, Mihir supports Angad but the cops arrest him and take to the police station. At the police station, Angad tells his parents that he wasn't the one driving the car and that his friend Sameer was behind the wheel, also claiming he wasn't drunk. While Mihir believes his version of the story, Tulsi remains doubtful and doesn't trust his words. When Tulsi calls Sameer, he lies and puts the entire blame on Angad. As Tulsi rushes from the police station disappointed, she bumps into a stranger who is there with a hidden motive. At home Tulsi is worried about Angad when Gayatri starts taunting him about not raising him well. However, Mihir defends Tulsi and says he is to be blamed equally as raising a child is both mother and father's responsibility. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Quinta Normal: Unsold Furniture Liquidation 2024 (Prices May Surprise You) Unsold Furniture | Search Ads Learn More Undo Furthermore, Gayatri shares that only Hemant, her son could have got Angad bail but he has already left for the US. Just then Hemant steps in to help Angad. Hemant cancels all his important meetings to support the family during the crisis. Just as Mihir is about to sign the bail papers arranged by Hemant, Tulsi intervenes. She firmly stops him and reminds everyone of the Virani family's values and principles, insisting that Angad, whom she still considers guilty, does not deserve to be granted bail. Mihir, who wants to get Angad released on bail doesn't agree with her thoughts and argues with her to think about the situation as mother. Just then Gayatri taunts Tulsi for not being Angad's real mother. She reveals that Angad, Pari and Ritik are not Mihir and Tulsi's biological kids. She shares that they are Kesar's children and Tulsi adopted them after her sister passed away. The other two children stand up for their mother, insisting that she has always treated them all with equal love and fairness. As emotions run high within the family, Tulsi quietly turns to prayer, hoping for some light in the midst of the turmoil. Meanwhile, a new Maharashtrian family is introduced. A young member of this family is shown protecting a plant from the heavy rain—just like Tulsi is doing at Shanti Niketan. It is shown that the CCTV footage of the accident was deleted to protect Angad's friend, Sameer, from going to jail. The Mumbai traffic police officer who helped with this turns out to be the brother of the Maharashtrian girl. The episode comes to an end. Inside pics!
