BTS' V and Jungkook Defamation case update: Unable to reach a settlement with YouTuber
V
and
Jungkook
have been at the centre of a defamation case with the infamous YouTuber Sojang. Known to target celebrities and online personalities and share defamatory content, the operator of the channel and the BTS members were unable to settle in a recent case hearing.
BTS V and Jungkook fail to settle defamation case
The BTS members earlier this year had filed a defamation case against the owner of the online channel Sojang. As per Allkpop reports, the 1st Mediation Division of the Seoul Western District Court held a special hearing on July 21, in the form of a mediation session. The aim was to ensure that both parties could appeal their case concerning the defamation lawsuit that was filed in March 2023.
However, the BTS members were unable to settle with the alleged perpetrators.
This ensures that a regular trial will now be carried on in order to determine whether the actions of the YourTuber are punishable or not.
About the case
In March 2023, BTS's company officially filed a damages claim against the channel, seeking 90 million KRW in total for the distress that was caused to the members by their videos. In February, the court reached an order which ruled that the YouTuber pay 51 million KRW to the management agency, 10 million KRW to V, and 15 million KRW to Jungkook.

BTS Fan? 5 Iconic Songs By Boy Band You Need To Hear Now
Published By : Kashvi Raj Singh Trending Desk Last Updated: July 28, 2025, 15:51 IST BTS will release a new album in 2026. (Photo Credit: Instagram) With the Hallyu wave taking over the world, one name that is leading the charge is none other than the K-pop supergroup BTS, also known as Bangtan Boys. Formed in 2013 under BigHit Entertainment (now HYBE), the group has become one of the most prominent names in the music industry. Consisting of RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, BTS enjoys a fan following in millions, if not billions, across the globe. Following the completion of their mandatory military service, the septet is busy making their brand-new album, scheduled to be released sometime in the first half of 2026, if all goes well. And if you can't wait for the new songs, we suggest you revisit some of their old hits. Here are five BTS songs that you need to add to your Spotify playlist. N.O Also known as 'No Offence', the song was released in 2013 as the lead single of their first EP O!RUL8,2? (Oh! Are You Late, too?). Through this hip-hop song, the group questions Korea's take on education. They asked their peers not to be forced into following their parents' dreams. Instead, encouraged them to stand up for themselves and have their own dreams. Attack On Bangtan Another song from O!RUL8,2? (Oh! Are You Late, too?) It is one of their anthemic songs, which was released in 2013. The title is a playful nod to the popular anime Attack on Titan. The lyrics of the song are bold and full of confidence, as the group sings about their determination to succeed in the music scene. Run The lead single from their fourth EP, titled The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 2, was released in 2015. The lyrics of this rock song encourage its fans to persevere, rising up and running every time they are knocked down by obstacles in their path. BTS also tell everyone that it's alright to make mistakes. I Need U One of the tracks on their third EP, The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Part 1, I Need U explores the theme of pain and confusion in a toxic love. Through the lyrics, they sing about how they are being ruined by the love and want for that person, and want them out of their lives. Make It Right A song on BTS' 2019 EP Map of the Soul: Persona, 'Make It Right," is a collaboration between the septet and Lauv, co-written by Ed Sheeran. Through the song, the group sings about making the world a better place and their desire to give it back to someone who helped them find their way. In this case, it is interpreted as their way of showing appreciation to their ardent fans. Kashvi Raj Singh Kashvi Raj Singh is a Sub Editor at News18. Even thousands of fans were there to watch it live. Chad Johnson raced a horse named Restore the Roar at River Downs in 2007 In May 2007 at Cincinnati's River Downs racetrack, Chad Johnson rode Restore the Roar, a four-year-old colt. Johnson was given a 100-meter head start and had to run just half that distance, 100 meters; the horse had to run an eighth of a mile (about 200 meters).
