Survey ordered to identify encroached govt lands
Speaking at a high-level committee meeting held at the Collectorate video conference hall on Monday, the collector instructed that the survey on the status of government lands must be completed within a week. He said that action plans must be prepared to remove identified encroachments.
The collector ordered village surveyors, Village Revenue Officers (VROs), and Panchayat Secretaries to jointly prepare detailed reports on encroachments on Banjar lands, Grama Kanthams, and other government lands.
He stressed that revenue and survey officials must play a crucial role in the process.
Further, he instructed officials to issue notices to encroachers and remove illegal structures after giving them grace time for a week. Regardless of whether the encroachers are poor or influential, unauthorised constructions on government land must be demolished, he said.
The collector directed the revenue, police, and panchayat departments to work together in a mission-mode operation to clear encroachments. He also asked officials to identify and remove encroachments on lands belonging to the Roads and Buildings Department, Panchayat Raj Department, and Irrigation Department.
He instructed officials to identify occupants of Grama Kanthams and demarcate government lands, particularly those belonging to the Roads and Buildings Department.
District Panchayat Officer B Lava Raju, Divisional Panchayat Officer PS Kumar, Survey Assistant Director K Devendrudu, DSP Shaik Shahbaz Ahmed, Roads and Buildings Department EE Bala Sundar Babu were among those who present at the meeting.

Ensure prompt redressal of public grievances, officials told
Puttaparthi (Sri Sathya Sai district): District Collector T S Chetan emphasised that officials must ensure prompt and satisfactory resolution of public grievances, stating that petitioners approach the administration with high hopes. He directed all departmental officers to address the issues efficiently, leaving no room for dissatisfaction. The Collector was speaking during the Public Grievance Redressal Programme held at the Collectorate on Monday. Joint Collector Abhishek Kumar, DRO Parthasarathi, Special Deputy Collector Suryanarayana, DRDA PD Narasayya, and DPO Samatha also participated in the programme. Officials received various petitions from the public during the session. During his address, Collector T.S. Chetan instructed officials to inspect overhead water tanks and ensure their cleanliness. He stressed the importance of providing safe drinking water and directed field-level inspections to avoid any shortcomings. He also warned that officials would be held accountable if hostels were found lacking in hygiene or if contaminated water was supplied. He directed mandatory visits to hostels, with inspections covering water facilities, tank cleaning, restrooms, pipelines, and kitchens to ensure they are functioning properly. The Collector emphasised that every petition must be thoroughly investigated in a transparent manner and resolved within the stipulated timeline, ensuring the petitioner is fully satisfied. He cautioned officials against delays beyond SLA (Service Level Agreement) or reopening of resolved cases, urging them to close all grievances conclusively. Petitions submitted during the session included issues related to land disputes, ration cards, housing site allocations, and pension approvals. In total, 234 petitions were received during the session, including 77 from Puttaparthi, 55 from Penukonda, 73 from Dharmavaram, and 29 from Kadiri. Officials from various departments, along with petitioners and stakeholders, actively participated in the event.

Grievances related to land issues high in Vizag, says Revenue Minister
The government is keeping a close watch on those involved in land grabbing in the State, Minister for Revenue Anagani Satya Prasad said and warned that anyone who tries to rob people and grab lands will be severely punished as per the law. He was in the city on Monday to participate in the weekly grievance programme at the Collectorate as part of the government programme — Suparipalanalo Tholi Adugu (Initiative of Good Governance). He received complaints directly from the people and interacted with them at the programme. Later, speaking to media persons on the occasion, Mr. Prasad said that the State government is keeping a close watch on land grabbing issues, and will provide justice to the victims and punish the accused. He said that private lands should not be placed under 22 (A), but it happened during the previous government. The coalition government with Nara Chandrababu Naidu as the Chief Minister is giving utmost priority to the welfare of the people and also the development of the State, he added. 'Grievances related to land-related issues such as land grabbing, encroachments are high in Visakhapatnam and people are complaining about these issues in the weekly grievance redressal programme. We are preparing a detailed report on land grabbing and encroachments and will soon release this report to the public,' Mr. Satya Prasad said. He said that the government is taking all steps to resolve the long-pending land issue of Panchagramalu in Simhachalam, adding that he had also reminded Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on this matter. He said that there is a lot of scope for development of Information Technology in Visakhapatnam. He said that the much-awaited Visakhapatnam Metro Rail project will also be fulfilled and work will start soon and steps are being taken to stop encroachments along the coast as per the guidelines of the Coastal Zone Management Board.

P4 initiative: ASR officials lead by example, adopt families
Leading from the front, following the call given by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to come forward to adopt 'Bangaru Kutambalu' as part of P4 (Public, Private, People, Partnership) programme, Alluri Sitharama Raju District Collector, A.S. Dinesh Kumar, Joint Collector, Abhishek Gowda and Sub-Collector of Paderu, Souryaman Patel announced the adoption of several families, promising them both financial and social support. As part of the initiative, Mr. Dinesh Kumar adopted the family of Samba Siva, a agricultural labourer from Inada village of Paderu mandal. Samba Siva's daughter Manasa, was distressed after failing to clear the NEET examination, due to financial constraints. Expressing gratitude, Manasa said, 'P4 is a blessing to my family. I will work hard to clear NEET and serve the society. Once I achieve my goal, I will mentor others.' Speaking on the occasion, Mr Dinesh Kumar said that the main goal of the P4 programme is to uplift families from poverty to prosperity. Details of eligible families are available online, and anyone across the country can adopt them via the portal. Families who have yet to register can do so at their nearest secretariat. Special officers have been appointed for the 'Bangaru Kutumbalu' programme, to assist people. Out of the 352 secretariats in the district, 144 secretariats have identified 92,683 'Bangaru Kutumbalu', comprising of 3,13,041 individuals, he said. He appealed to donors to extend financial and social support to these families. He said: 'The district administration will always be accessible to mentors supporting tribal communities through the P4.' Meanwhile, Joint Collector M. J. Abhishek Gowda also adopted a family from Guttulaputtu and Paderu Sub-Collector Souryaman Patel adopted another family under the same initiative.
