Alexie Brooks on being androgynous: ‘I'm comfortable and I feel confident'
In Tuesday's 'Fast Talk with Boy Abunda,' the Filipina beauty queen spoke candidly about how she embraces fluidity in both style and relationships.
'I express myself as an androgynous woman or person. So, basically, if I feel like, I wake up in the morning and I feel like dressing up as masculine, I go for it. I have days that I feel like very feminine and I literally go for it,' she said.
Per Alexie, those who are close to her know that it's just the way she is.
'And I feel like it's better if you don't put yourself a limit into what you can, you know, expression mo sa sarili mo. And it's so much better. I'm happier. I'm comfortable and I feel confident and I don't think—there's nothing wrong with that,' she said.
When asked if being androgynous means one can have relationships with men and women, Alexie said yes.
'I think it's up to you kung saan ka mas comfortable. But yes. Kung saan ka masaya,' she said.
Alexie was crowned Miss Eco International 2025 last April at the Hilton Green Plaza in Alexandria, Egypt.
Following her win, Alexie honored her late grandmother, Lola Basing, and also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to those who supported her in her journey.
Aside from the title, Alexie also won the National Costume competition with her Philippine Eagle-inspired costume designed by Tata Pinuela.

Kitchie Nadal bares reason why she relocated to Spain in 2017
After being in the limelight for years, Kitchie Nadal took a break from her music career and moved to Spain in 2017 with her Spanish husband Carlos Lopez. In Monday's episode of 'Fast Talk With Boy Abunda,' the OPM icon shared that she moved to Madrid for love and to build a life with their children. 'Love. Of course, love. I married a Spanish guy, nagkakilala kami during Yolanda. We are both volunteers. And then 'yon, ang bilis na-develop,' Kitchie explained. 'He decided to stay and then we got to know each other more. And we got married. We had a baby. When we had a baby, we decided to move to Spain,' she added. When asked about her life in Madrid, Kitchie says she is 'really happy' because she was able to focus on her family. 'I'm really happy. Kasi iba ang lifestyle doon eh. I was able to focus [on] my family, hands-on with the kids like everyone. Ang dami kong natutunan doon. House chores, lahat, multi-tasking. Talagang ano, I really love how I was able to focus on them,' she shared. She added that she missed performing while in Spain and would hold intimate gigs there for the Filipino communities abroad. "Syempre mas maliit siya but I really find it, for me fun nga siya kasi parang ang intimate and then parang feeling ko ang meaningful ng dating kasi parang you get to unite the Filipinos there," she said. In 2020, Kitchie released a Spanish version of her hit single 'Huwag na Huwag Mong Sasabihin,' titled 'No Me Digas.' According to the Filipina singer, her husband Carlos Lopez helped her translate the lyrics into Spanish. In the same "Fast Talk" interview, Kitchie was also asked if there was a chance for her to move back to the Philippines. "Anything is possible. We're open to anything," she said. Kitchie held a concert in the Philippines in June at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. She also held a concert in 2024 at the New Frontier Theater to mark her 20th anniversary in the music industry. A pillar of OPM rock, Kitchie is the hitmaker behind 'Huwag Na Huwag Mong Sasabihin,' 'Same Ground,' 'Bulong !!!' and 'Makulay na Buhay.' —Jade Veronique Yap/CDC, GMA Integrated News

Kitchie Nadal open to possibility of moving back to PH

"We're open to anything," she added. Kitchie moved to Spain in 2017 with her Spanish husband, journalist Carlos Lopez, following the birth of her first son and has been based there ever since. According to Kitchie, she did not expect that her career would be the same again when she moved to Spain for love. "I was just happy to be living there and then nagkaroon lang ng opportunities eh. I don't know how it happened, basta nagkaroon lang ng demand to come back here and do concerts, and I said yes," she said. "Kaya ayoko ring magsalita nang tapos kasi parang, 'yun nga eh, 'yung concert, I didn't even think about that. Never in my wildest dream that it'll happen in my 20th year or 21st year." Kitchie marked her 20th anniversary in the music industry in 2024 with a concert, dubbed "Same Ground," at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.
