The phrase "All Eyes on..." has its digital roots in the Gaza conflict, where "All Eyes on Rafah" was used in 2024 to draw global attention to the humanitarian crisis in the Rafah region of Gaza. Since then, it has become an expression of public empathy and resistance, one that reappears in times of crisis when people believe the world is not watching closely enough.

Families, honeymooners, and pilgrims were caught in the crossfire with no chance to escape.
Among the victims was Navy Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who was on his honeymoon with his wife. The couple married just six days before the trip. In the aftermath of the attack, a haunting image surfaced of Narwal's wife Himanshi sitting motionless beside his body.
The image has since gone viral, now circulating as a digital painting under the banner of "All Eyes on Pahalgam."

Among the other victims were families from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi, and Rajasthan, including newlyweds and pilgrims.
A tourist from Karnataka lost her husband in the attack. She and her 18-year-old son were among the few survivors. Overcome with grief, she pleaded with one of the terrorists to kill her as well. The assailant said, " I won't kill you. Go and tell Modi."
The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy of Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, has claimed responsibility for the attack. The terrorists allegedly asked tourists about their religion and made them recite an Islamic verse before shooting them at close range.

The incident happened at Dakkhingaon area in Assam's Guwahati in the early hours of Friday. Nandini was reportedly detained on Tuesday after the youth, Samiul Haque, passed away while undergoing treatment. Her arrest was officially recorded on Wednesday, following which Nandini was produced in court. According to news agency PTI, CCTV footage of the accident showed that not only was she speeding at the time, but did not even stop to check on the victim. Eyewitnesses claimed that she fled the scene immediately. She was, however, chased down and confronted by Samiul Haque's friends. After completing her basic education at Faculty Higher Secondary School, Amingaon, in her native place of Guwahati, she pursued a bachelor's degree at the University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya, located at Khanapara. She graduated from the university in 2021. Since 2018, she has been in the public domain and has appeared in a few music videos. However, it was in 2022 that she made her film debut, playing the lead role in the Assamese movie Janaknandini, helmed by her mother Kunjalta Gogoi Das. Also starring Gunjan Bhardwaj, Nrityacharjya Jatin Goswami, Arun Nath, Madhurima Choudhary, Ranjeev Lal Baruah and Rupam Baruh, Janaknandini was produced by Nandinee's parents, director Kunjalata Gogoi Das and husband Rinku Das, themselves. Also featuring Ravi Sharma, Adil Hussain, Joy Kashyap and Arrchita Agarwaal in key roles, the movie was penned by director Roopak Gogoi. Rudra hit the screens on June 27. Although Nandini is currently in police custody, it is reported that this is not her first involvement in a vehicular offence, the difference this time being that it tragically resulted in the loss of a life. 'Kashyap's vehicle was penalised several times for speeding and many challans were issued in different districts,' Guwahati Police Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) Jayanta Sarathi Borah told PTI.

Tamil Film actor Powerstar held by Delhi Police over Rs 5-cr loan fraud

New Delhi, Jul 30 (PTI) The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has arrested Tamil film actor and self-styled doctor S Srinivasan, popularly known as Powerstar, in connection with a Rs 5-crore loan fraud case, an officer said on Wednesday. Srinivasan, who had been evading trial since 2018 and was declared a 'proclaimed offender' twice, was arrested from Chennai, the Delhi Police said in a statement. According to the statement, the actor allegedly posed as a financier and duped a Delhi-based company of Rs 5 crore promising to secure for it a Rs 1,000 crore loan. The money was later found to have been diverted for film production and personal use. 'The accused had been absconding for several years and was finally apprehended on July 27 from Vanagaram in Chennai. He has been remanded to judicial custody," Deputy Commissioner of Police (EOW) Ravi Kumar said. According to the complaint, a private firm was allegedly cheated by a group of persons including Henry Lalremsanga, Deepak Banga, Anil Varshney, and Ramanuja Muvvala in 2010. 'These people claimed to be expert consultants capable of securing high-value funding for hotel and corporate infrastructure projects," said the DCP. They introduced the complainant to S Srinivasan, who introduced himself as the proprietor of a trading company and claimed he could secure the company a Rs 1,000 crore loan. As part of the deal, the complainant paid Srinivasan Rs 5 crore, ostensibly to purchase adhesive stamps (0.5 per cent of loan amount), a standard fee in such transactions. However, no loan materialised, and a post-dated cheque of Rs 5 crore, issued as security by Srinivasan, bounced due to insufficient funds, police said. During investigation, the officer said, police found that on December 27, 2010, a sum of Rs 5 crore was transferred to the account of the trading company and later moved to accounts controlled by Srinivasan and his wife. Of this money, he withdrew Rs 50 lakh and transferred the remaining amount to a joint account, from which a fixed deposit of Rs 4 crore was created. Officials said Srinivasan failed to provide any documentation to prove that he had purchased adhesive stamps, which revealed his fraudulent intent. 'He was first arrested during the course of investigation but later released on interim bail in 2013 after assuring the court that he would repay Rs 10 crore in 15 days. However, he only deposited Rs 3.5 lakh and went underground," said the officer. The actor was first declared a proclaimed offender in April 2016. Though re-arrested in March 2017 and granted bail in June the same year, he again absconded, leading to his being declared a PO a second time in November 2018. In their pursuit for him, police zeroed in on his location at Golden Treasure Apartment in Vanagaram in Chennai, and arrested the 64-year-old on July 27. Popularly known as 'Powerstar" in the Tamil film industry, Srinivasan has been associated with films as a comedian, producer, singer. He even projected himself as a politician. He holds a diploma in acupressure from a Chinese university, acquired through distance learning. His passion for cinema led him to establish a trading company in Chennai, through which he allegedly lured businessmen with promises of large bank loans. Srinivasan has acted in several Tamil films. Police said he is also named in six other cases in Chennai for similar offences. Delhi High Court to examine if Centre has power to order cuts in Udaipur Files movie

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday (July 30, 2025) asked the Centre if it had the authority to pass an order directing six cuts in the film Udaipur Files-Kanhaiya Lal Tailor Murder, while exercising revisional powers. 'You have to exercise the powers within the four corners of the statute. You can't go beyond that,' a Bench of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela said. The court posed the question after being informed that the Centre, while exercising its revisional powers under the Cinematograph Act, had suggested six cuts to the producers of the movie, in addition to a disclaimer. The court was also informed that the film has been recertified, but not issued to the producers, because the matter is pending in the High Court. The court was hearing a plea by Mohammed Javed, one of the accused in the Kanhaiya Lal murder case, objecting to the release of the film on the ground that it would prejudice his case during the trial. Senior advocate Maneka Guruswamy, representing Mr. Javed, submitted that six witnesses have been examined till now in the case and 160 witnesses remain. 'I was 19 years old when I was arrested. I am Accused No. 8 in the trial. I was released on bail by the Rajasthan High Court because there was no connection between me and the allegations. I am a citizen of this country and am entitled to a fair trial,' Ms. Guruswamy said. 'My right to a fair trial is jeopardised by the release of the film,' she argued. While Ms. Guruswamy concluded her arguments, the submissions of Additional Solicitor-General Chetan Sharma, who was representing the Centre and the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), remained inconclusive and the court said it would continue the proceedings on August 1. Besides Mr. Javed's plea, another petition has been filed by Jamiat Ulema-i-Hind president Maulana Arshad Madani. It could not be heard due to the non-availability of the counsel. Kanhaiya Lal, an Udaipur-based tailor in Rajasthan, was murdered in June 2022, allegedly by Mohammad Riyaz and Mohammad Ghous, for sharing a social media post in support of former BJP leader Nupur Sharma after her controversial comments on Prophet Mohammed. The trial is pending before the special NIA court in Jaipur.
