Ravine fire closes bridge in midtown: Toronto police
A bridge in midtown has been shut down this morning following a fire in a ravine nearby, Toronto police say.
The fire reportedly broke out at an encampment under the St. Clair Avenue bridge, which runs between Yonge Street and Mount Pleasant Road, according to police.
No injuries were reported.
The bridge is currently closed as crews determine its structural integrity, police noted.
It is unclear when the roadway will reopen.

Acaciaville man charged with child pornography offences: N.S. RCMP

The RCMP's Provincial Internet Child Exploitation Unit executed a search warrant at a home on Ridge Road on June 19 and seized electronic evidence. 'Investigators were directed to the residence after learning that child pornography was being transmitted by a user accessing the internet in that residence,' reads a news release from the Nova Scotia RCMP. Justin John Horner was arrested on Monday and police say additional evidence was seized. Horner has been charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and making child pornography available. Police recover body of Pontiac man who drowned after attempting a rescue
Police have recovered the body of a 53-year-old man who drowned in the Ottawa River after attempting to rescue a woman in distress near Mohr Island. MRC des Collines-de-l'Outaouais police announced they recovered the body of the man around 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday with the help of Sûreté du Québec divers. Authorities did not release the man's identity but said he was a resident of Quyon, Que. The man jumped from a pontoon to help a woman in the water on Sunday around 5:30 p.m., police said. He was not wearing a life jacket. The woman was rescued by another person, police told Radio-Canada. A search for the man continued into Sunday night, involving Ottawa police and boaters from Ottawa and the Pontiac, Que., area. A coroner's inquest will be held, though police said signs indicate the man's death was accidental.
