Sharad Kelkar Refuses To Talk About Growing Language Conflicts, Says 'I Have No Interest'
Sharad Kelkar says he prefers to stay away from politics and respects all 'beautiful' Indian languages.
Actor Sharad Kelkar, who is known for his work in television and has voiced the iconic character of Baahubali for its Hindi version, has shared his opinion on the growing language conflicts between different states of India. The actor recently spoke with IANS and shared that though he prefers to stay away from politics, he surely respects all 'beautiful" Indian languages that are spoken throughout the country.
He told IANS, 'Honestly, I don't want to get into political matters. I have no interest in it. Ask me about acting, and I'll talk. Ask me why I haven't done a Marathi film, and I'll answer. But this isn't about personal will or preference. I believe all Indian languages are beautiful. I'm Indian, first and foremost".
The actor was also asked if he is the highest-paid actor on his upcoming show, to which he responded by saying, 'I've been working for over two decades. I've earned my place, and yes, I charge for it. What's wrong with that? If someone is earning well, people should be happy—not jealous. It's a sign of achievement. If an actor returns to television, it's because they have value. No one's calling you back just for nostalgia—you have to bring something to the table".
He also shared about why in the current era of television, shows don't run for years and actors don't become household names.
He said, 'The audience landscape has changed. OTT has brought in new content and platforms. Earlier, shows used to run for years and characters would live in people's hearts. Now, shows are shorter, and people move on quickly. Many actors believe they aren't getting recognition, but I think it's the characters that become famous, not the actors themselves. I've been known as Nahar Singh, Barry B., Thakur, and Dr. Ashutosh—all character names".
'If you keep reinventing yourself and present a new version every time, people might eventually remember your real name", he added.

Watch: English Fan Dedicates Unique Song To Akash Deep After Edgbaston Demolition
Last Updated: Akash Deep's 10-wicket haul has made him a hit in England, with a local singer even singing a song for him. Akash Deep is an instant hit in England, not just among pundits and Indian fans who are raving about his special 10-wicket haul in the second Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at Edgbaston but also among the locals. After India secured a huge 336-run win to level the series 1-1, an English singer was seen singing a song in his name in the tune of Let It Be from The Beatles. English fans are popular for their sporting songs and chants. In football clubs, almost every important player has a fan-dedicated chant of their own. The cricket fan group Barmy Army also usually comes up with unique ones for several of the local players, but an Indian bowler who's still relatively new in Test cricket getting this popular, this early, is just a sign of the impression he has cast on the world. Watch the song here: Filling the big shoes of the rested Jasprit Bumrah, Akash Deep found more purchase off the Edgbaston pitch than any other bowler on either side. He used his discipline to create pressure and supple wrists to make the new ball move. It resulted in a spell of 4/88 in the first innings and 6/99 in the second. It helped the 28-year-old enter his name in the history books. He is now only the second Indian bowler in 93 years to take a 10-wicket haul in a Test match in England. His final figures of 10 for 187 are the best by an Indian bowler in a Test match played in England. Indian captain Shubman Gill was delighted to see Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj (who took seven wickets) to step up in Bumrah's absence. 'When your two fast bowlers take 17 wickets, then it becomes easy for the skipper. Bumrah bhai was not there, but the bowlers we have in the squad are capable of taking 20 wickets in a match," Gill told former India batting star Cheteshwar Pujara on JioHotstar after the team's win. Metro In Dino Box Office Collection Day 3: Anurag Basu movie earnings soar 18%, inches closer to ₹20 crore mark
Metro In Dino Box Office Collection Day 3: Anurag Basu's romantic drama found it difficult to cross ₹ 10 crore mark at the domestic box office despite registering an 18 percent uptick in collection on Sunday, July 6. The filmmaker, who marked his return to the film industry after a hiatus of eight years, is finding it hard to impress the audience with the heartfelt narrative of four couples in a contemporary setting. Notably, this relationship drama has crossed the entire lifetime earnings of its prequel — 'Life In A Metro,' which collected ₹ 15.63 crore at the box office, Koimoi reported. Released on May 11, 2007, it missed the hit mark by a very small margin but proved to be a successful film. According to film industry tracker Sacnilk, the movie did a business of ₹ 7.08 crore net in India on its first Sunday, July 10. Wrapping up the weekend with a total collection of ₹ 16.58 crore net, the Bollywood movie witnessed 39.75 percent Hindi occupancy on Sunday. On Saturday, the film saw 71.43 percent increase in earnings and raked in ₹ 6 crore net. On its opening day, July 4, the movie collected ₹ 3.5 crore net. Film trade analyst Sumit Kadel in a post on X stated, '#MetroInDino continues its struggle on Day 2 - adding just ₹ 2.30 Cr over a dismal Friday ( ₹ 3.20 Cr nett) to collect a flat ₹ 5.50 Cr. A ₹ 10 Cr Saturday was the bare minimum for a respectable weekend total, but the film falls way short yet again.' At the worldwide box office, the Sara Ali Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer collected ₹ 12.40 crore gross in 2 days, Sacnilk reported. A total of ₹ 1 crore gross came from overseas earnings. Produced by T-Series and Anurag Kashyap Films, the movie features an ensemble cast. Besides Sara Ali Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma, it features Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Pankaj Tripathi, Aditya Roy Kapur, Ali Fazal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Saswata Chatterjee in key roles.
