'Pray for my Adeline,' pleads husband after police helicopter crash
Her husband, Corporal Mohd Helmie Huzairie Sabli, 34, who serves with the Serdang district police headquarters in Selangor, said they married on May 20.
"She's a (Muslim) convert. We'd known each other for nearly nine years before she joined the Air Operations Force," he told the Mediaprima group when contacted today.
The Sarawak-born officer was one of five crew members aboard the police's AS355N helicopter that crashed near Sungai Pulai on Thursday.
The incident occurred during a flypast multi-agency simulation for the Nuclear Security Detection Exercise Malaysia-Indonesia-Thailand-Singapore 2025.
Helmie said he had rushed from Selangor to Johor Baru upon learning of the crash, arriving at Sultanah Aminah Hospital about 3pm that same day.
Now on the third day of treatment, Adline has fully regained consciousness and is no longer dependent on a ventilator.
"She started talking about 3pm yesterday. Her lungs are functioning well, and doctors are monitoring a spinal fracture," he said, adding that her swollen kidney glands did not require surgery.
Helmie thanked the public for their prayers and asked for continued support for his wife and the other crew members.
Earlier, Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Datuk Seri Azmi Abu Kassim said the only crew member still sedated in the hospital's intensive care unit is Constable RG. Devendran, 30.
Adline remains in the ICU but is stable, while the remaining three crew members have been transferred to regular wards.

Alpha IVF opens satellite clinic in Surabaya, its second in Indonesia
PETALING JAYA: Fertility care specialist Alpha IVF Group Bhd has opened its second satellite clinic in Surabaya, Indonesia, its second in the country. The expansion forms part of the group's initial public offering roadmap to establish four satellite clinics in Indonesia, strengthening its regional growth strategy and deepening its footprint in the country, which is one of the group's fastest-growing international markets. Group managing director Datuk Dr Colin Lee Soon Soo said Surabaya was strategically chosen to expand the company's reach into East and Central Java, where it sees strong potential for growth in fertility treatment. 'Our first satellite clinic in Jakarta began showing results in less than three months of operations, which gives us strong confidence in the scalability and effectiveness of our satellite model. 'We believe the Surabaya clinic will build on this momentum and further increase patient referrals to our flagship centres in Malaysia,' he said in a statement. The new clinic is strategically located within the Womba Women's and Children Specialist Clinic in Surabaya. Situatedin the heart of East Java, Surabaya – the second largest city in Indonesia after Jakarta – was selected to meet the growing demand for assisted reproductive services across the region, including nearby urban centres such as Solo, Semarang and Yogyakarta. The clinic will serve as a key referral and patient coordination centre, offering initial consultations and fertility assessments, while seamlessly connecting patients to Alpha IVF's flagship centres in Malaysia for comprehensive treatment. Alpha IVF's first Indonesian satellite clinic, located in Pantai Indah Kapuk, Jakarta, commenced operations in May and has already shown encouraging results. In less than three months, 29 couples have been referred to the group's Malaysia-based centres, demonstrating early validation of the group's regional strategy. Alpha IVF expects its Indonesia-based satellite clinics, including those in Jakarta and Surabaya, to make a meaningful contribution to cross-border patient volume and revenue growth. Apart from Indonesia, Alpha IVF currently operates in Malaysia, Singapore and China. The group has pioneered numerous innovations leading to improved pregnancy rates and is actively involved in utilising advanced artificial intelligence technology to enhance embryo selection for higher IVF success rates.

S'wak to act against hospital staff acting as middlemen in funerals
FMT reported a former doctor as alleging that a gang, acting as agents for funeral services, has long 'dominated' the mortuary of a public hospital in Sarawak. (KKM pic) PETALING JAYA : The Sarawak health department has pledged to take strict action against staff at a public hospital allegedly acting as insiders and leaking information about patient deaths to outsiders. Its director, Dr Veronica Lugah, said the health ministry was committed to ensuring public healthcare services were delivered in a transparent, ethical and accountable manner. 'In line with established rules and procedures, all healthcare service personnel are prohibited from acting as middlemen for funeral arrangements. 'Any violation of these rules and procedures will be met with disciplinary action under the Public Officers Regulations Act (Conduct and Discipline) 1993,' she said in a statement. On Thursday, FMT reported a former doctor as alleging that a gang, acting as agents for funeral services, had long 'dominated' the mortuary of a public hospital in Sarawak. The former civil servant, who asked to be known as Johan, said gang members often showed up as soon as a death was reported at the emergency department or hospital wards, sometimes even before the death was officially confirmed. He claimed insiders were leaking information to gang members in exchange for payment. Veronica said the management of patients who die at government hospitals is entirely the responsibility of the next of kin. 'The hospital does not provide funeral management services, nor is it involved in selecting or appointing any party to handle such matters. 'This includes the transportation, preparation or handling of the body, which remains solely under the family's responsibility.' As such, she said any elements of coercion, threats or acts resembling gangsterism by parties claiming control over funeral arrangements should be reported to the police for a thorough investigation and for appropriate action to be taken.
