Kon Knueppel's Mom Turns Heads With Her Looks During NBA Draft Lottery
The grand prize in this year's draft is likely Duke Blue Devils star Cooper Flagg. The freshman forward from Maine finished his lone season in Durham averaging 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists.

But Duke has other stars that are projected to become a lottery pick, including center Khaman Maluach and guard Kon Knueppel.
During the 2025 ACC Tournament, Knueppel stole the show after Flagg missed nearly every game with an injury. The Wisconsin-native led his team to a conference championship, winning the ACC Tournament MVP in the process.
Knueppel was in attendance for Monday night's lottery in Chicago along with his parents, Kon Sr. and Chari. During the event, his mom took to social media to share some photos of the three Knueppels together at the draft lottery.
"🤯🤯🤯," Chari Knueppel wrote on X.
Despite the likely heartfelt message Chari was trying to send, some NBA fans noticed her appearance at the event, leaving their comments on social media.

"Look at YOU!!!! Ok, look at ALL OF YOU!!! G O R G E O U S !!!" one fan said.
"I love how you can wear heels and still be shorter than your husband and your son. The three of you look amazing," added another.
"Mama Chari y'all truly deserve every second of this. You look so incredible," wrote a third.
"You are looking fabulous @ChariNKnueppel!!" commented a fourth.
"Beautiful Family," posted a fifth.
"Looking great! Best of luck @Kon2Knueppel," added a sixth.

Kon is the oldest of five basketball-playing Knueppel brothers, including Kager, the second oldest, followed by Kinston, Kash, and Kid. Chari was a college basketball player herself, becoming UW-Green Bay's all-time leading scorer. She also won the Horizon League Player of the Year in 1999.

Billy Donovan signs multi-year contract extension with Chicago Bulls, report says
Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan signed a multi-year contract extension Sunday and will remain coach of the Bulls for the foreseeable future, per ESPN. Donovan enters his sixth season as the coach of the Bulls, going 195-205 in his first five seasons in Chicago with one trip to the playoffs in 2022. The Bulls have gone 39-43 in back-to-back seasons, finishing as the 9-seed in the East both years, but are in the midst of a retool after trading away Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan in recent years to shift towards a youth movement. The Bulls front office decided Donovan is the right choice to continue guiding that young group as they try to stay competitive but get younger at the same time. Donovan was one of the many active coaches pursued by the New York Knicks this summer, but ultimately agreed to stay in Chicago on a new long-term deal. The length and specific terms of the contract aren't known currently. With how much turnover there has been in the NBA in recent years, Donovan is the third-longest tenured coach in the NBA. He's tied with Thunder coach Mark Daigneault and Clippers coach Tyronn Lue with 400 games coached, as they were all hired in the summer of 2020. The only coaches who have been with their current teams longer are Erik Spoelstra in Miami and Bulls championship team veteran Steve Kerr in Golden State. This past spring, Donovan, 60, was named to the 2025 Basketball Hall of Fame Class, based largely on his career as a college coach, having led the Florida Gators to back-to-back national championships in 2006 and 2007. Donovan became head coach of the Bulls in September 2020 after five seasons as head coach of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Former Sixers sharpshooter defends Tobias Harris during time in Philly
Tobias Harris suffered a lot of criticism during his time with the Philadelphia 76ers. Acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers at the 2019 deadline before then being re-signed to a 5-year $180 million deal, Harris averaged 17.6 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 378 games across six seasons in Philadelphia. Harris had to wear a lot of different hats in Philadelphia. His role changed from being a top option with the Clippers to then being the No. 4 option behind Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, and Jimmy Butler. Then, he had to be the sharpshooter after JJ Redick departed in the 2019 offseason. Then, he had to be the No. 2 scorer. Then, he had to be the No. 3 scorer and adjust after James Harden arrived. Harris was asked to do a lot and he did it without complaining. Yet, he received a lot of criticism for coming up small in the playoffs at times. He had some tough moments in the postseason for sure, but overall, Harris was such a key piece to what the Sixers wanted to do and they don't have the success they do without him. His presence was important as ever. Former Sixers sharpshooter Georges Niang hopped on "The OGs Show" and defended Harris from the critics in Philly and credited him for helping the Detroit Pistons make a surprise run to the playoffs in 2025: One of my favorite teammates in Philly had to have been Tobias Harris. I think he took a lot of heat in Philadelphia. Whatever they want to say I think as an overall veteran leader. You talk about sacrificing when James came in, Tyrese (Maxey), Joel, he'd find out a way to make himself effective. He had to continue to connect guys, bring guys together, bring energy, bring life into a youthful organization over there in Detroit. I couldn't say enough great things about that guy. Whatever the opinion one wants to have about Harris with the Sixers, it's obvious that his teammates remember him fondly. He is a professional who just wants to win and be a great teammate and he was just that in Philadelphia while also doing the same thing with the Pistons in his return to Detroit in 2024-25. A few Notre Dame women's basketball notes on Jayda Porter and Giovanna Burress
While Notre Dame's women's basketball might be going through a transitional season even with FIBA Gold medalist Hanna Hidalgo leading the charge, there is still plenty of draw to South Bend with recruits. The Irish are off to a great start in the 2026 class, and while they just have one commitment, it's a significant one. Georgia small forward Bella Ragone decided to commit to Notre Dame at the end of May, as she's the No. 23 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. Niele Ivey is looking to add another top prospect to join Ragone in power forward Jayda Porter. The 6-foot, 3-inch Missouri native is just behind her in the rankings, as the No. 31 overall player in the cycle and this weekend decided to schedule her official visit to South Bend for Sep. 13th. Porter also announced visits to Oklahoma, Nebraska and Wisconsin. She's the brother of NBA player Michael Porter Jr., and daughter to Michael Sr. who is currently the head coach at Missouri. Looking further ahead, the Irish extended an offer to 2028 New Jersey guard Giovanna Burress on Saturday. The sister of wide receiver Elijah and daughter of Plaxico, could eventually join her brother on campus as Notre Dame has offered extremely early. Giovanna is looking like a national prospect, so this could be the start of a long relationship. While the Irish are early, they are not the only big schools to offer as Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan State and others have already done so. It very much looks like Ivey is taking a page out of Marcus Freeman's recruiting playbook, offering players that have elite athletic lineages. Hopefully this strategy works as well for the women's basketball team as it has for the football team.
