Arab League Condemns Israeli Occupation Raids on Syria
The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States strongly condemned the raids carried out by the Israeli occupation forces on Syrian territory, including those targeting the General Staff headquarters in Damascus and the vicinity of the Presidential Palace.
The General Secretariat regards these attacks as a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of an Arab state, a member of both the League and the United Nations, and a breach of international law and the principles of the international order.
The General Secretariat stressed that these Israeli strikes amount to acts of aggression and intimidation that can neither be accepted nor tolerated by the regional or international community, and must be brought to an immediate halt.
It further noted that the occupation forces' actions are intended to destabilise Syria, taking advantage of recent developments in the Sweida Governorate—events that were denounced by the Syrian authorities themselves as "shameful acts," with a pledge to investigate and hold accountable anyone found responsible for violations or misconduct.
The General Secretariat expressed its full solidarity with Syria in the face of these Israeli aggressions and urged the Syrian government to act swiftly to contain the situation, ease tensions through dialogue, and work towards the inclusion of all Syrian people within a unified national framework.

Qatar and the US presented an updated Gaza ceasefire and captive deal to Israel and Hamas on Wednesday, according to two sources familiar with the talks, speaking to US news outlet Axios. The revised proposal calls for a 60-day ceasefire in Israel's ongoing war on Gaza, the release of 10 live captives and the remains of 18 deceased captives, the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails, and a substantial increase in humanitarian aid to Gaza. Key changes Negotiators from Israel and Hamas have made progress over the past 10 days of talks in Doha, with the updated proposal incorporating two main changes: Israel's military withdrawal and the ratio of Palestinian prisoners to captives to be released. According to Axios, Israel has made significant concessions regarding its military presence. While initially insisting on a 5km buffer zone along the Gaza-Egypt border, Israel has now agreed to reduce it to 1.5km. Additionally, the Israeli army will maintain a 1km perimeter along other parts of Gaza's border. Israeli officials noted that while the revised prisoner release ratio has been adjusted slightly, these changes are unlikely to derail the talks. However, the names of the prisoners to be released still need to be finalised. Humanitarian aid A key sticking point in the negotiations has been the delivery of humanitarian aid. Hamas has insisted that aid not be routed through the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). Israeli officials say that will be the de facto result of Israel agreeing to withdraw from most parts of southern Gaza where the aid centres are located. Next steps Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani is expected to meet with Hamas leaders in Doha on Saturday to seek their approval of the updated proposal. Qatar's mediators believe that Israel's concessions on military withdrawal could pave the way for a deal. However, Hamas may have additional reservations, but not so significant that they would be a deal-breaker, one source familiar with the negotiations told Axios. US says it opposed Israeli strikes in Syria - Region
The United States said Thursday that it opposed its ally Israel's strikes in Syria, a day after Washington helped broker a deal to end violence. "The United States did not support recent Israeli strikes," State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce told reporters. "We are engaging diplomatically with Israel and Syria at the highest levels, both to address the present crisis and reach a lasting agreement between the two sovereign states," she said. She declined to say if the United States had expressed its displeasure with Israel or whether it would oppose future strikes on Syria. Secretary of State Marco Rubio voiced concern when asked about the Israeli strikes, which included attacking the defense ministry in Damascus. He later issued a statement that did not directly address the Israeli strikes but voiced broader concern about the violence. Israel said it was intervening on behalf of the Druze community after communal clashes. Israel has repeatedly been striking Syria, a historic adversary, since Islamist fighters in December overthrew President Bashar al-Assad. Egypt, 10 Arab and Islamic nations reject foreign interference in Syria - Foreign Affairs
Egypt and ten other Arab and Islamic countries reaffirmed on Thursday their support for Syria's security, unity, stability, and sovereignty, rejecting all foreign interference in its internal affairs. In a joint statement, the foreign ministers of Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Turkey emphasised that Syria's security and stability are fundamental to regional security and a shared priority. According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the top diplomats held extensive discussions on the latest developments in Syria, stressing the importance of maintaining a unified position. They called for joint international efforts to support the Syrian government in rebuilding the country on foundations that guarantee its security, stability, unity, sovereignty, and the rights of all its citizens. The statement also welcomed the Sweida agreement, underscoring the need for its implementation to safeguard Syria's unity and sovereignty, prevent further bloodshed, and uphold the protection of civilians and the rule of law. They also praised Syrian President Ahmad Al-Sharaa's commitment to holding all those responsible for violations against citizens in Sweida accountable. Additionally, the statement expressed support for all efforts to restore security, state sovereignty, and the rule of law across Sweida and all Syrian territory, while rejecting violence, sectarianism, and attempts to incite division and hatred. The ministers condemned repeated Israeli attacks on Syria as blatant violations of international law and flagrant assaults on Syria's sovereignty. The statement affirmed that such violations undermine Syria's security, stability, and territorial integrity, as well as the Syrian government's efforts to rebuild the country in line with the aspirations of its people. The ministers called on the UN Security Council (UNSC) to fulfil its legal and moral responsibilities to ensure Israel's complete withdrawal from occupied Syrian territories and halt Israel's hostile actions and interference in Syria. The statement further emphasised the necessity of implementing UNSC Resolution 2766 and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement between Syria and Israel. On Tuesday, Israel carried out airstrikes against Syrian government forces in the predominantly Druze southern Syria's Sweida province. The Israeli attacks followed the breaking out of clashes between residents of the city and government forces, with Tel Aviv vowing to protect the Druze population.
