How a new USC recruiting prediction spells potential victory for Oregon Football
On Wednesday morning, On3's Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction for the USC Trojans to land a commitment from 4-star WR Ethan 'Boobie' Feaster, the No. 40 player and No. 4 receiver in the 2026 class. Standing at 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, Feaster is a talented pass-catcher who the Trojans have been trying to land over the likes of Texas A&M and LSU.
While the pickup for USC would be massive, adding to their No. 1-ranked recruiting class in the 2026 cycle, it could also spell victory for Dan Lanning and the Ducks.
How? By potentially taking the Trojans out of the running for 4-star WR Jalen Lott, who the Ducks are recruiting heavily ahead of his July 8 commitment. Lott is rated as the No. 49 player in the nation and the No. 5 ATH in the 2026 class. The Ducks are among Lott's finalists, alongside USC, the Texas Longhorns, LSU Tigers, and Georgia Bulldogs.
While USC might still try to land Lott as well, it's fair to think that the 4-star may choose to go elsewhere. Oregon currently holds a slight lead over Texas in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, with USC in third place. It will be no means be easy for the Ducks to land him, but should Feaster end up committing to the Trojans, then it may make things slightly easier.

Former USC wide receiver and Seahawks assistant marvels at Pete Carroll's longevity
It has now been more than 15 years since Pete Carroll left USC. Despite being nearly 74 years old, however, the head coach is still at the top of his game a decade and a half later. This fall, Carroll will enter his first season as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders, looking to turn around a franchise that has not had much success in several decades. On Wednesday, The Athletic ran a profile of Carroll and how he continues to thrive despite his age. The story included a fascinating quote from a wide receiver who played for Carroll at USC before going on to serve as his right-hand man with the Seattle Seahawks for over a decade. 'Ben Malcolmson played for Carroll at USC and later served as his assistant for over a decade with the Seahawks,' they wrote. 'He's seen Carroll build and reaffirm team culture repeatedly. Age hasn't changed his approach. 'Early in his Seahawks tenure, Carroll buzzed around the building with the same energy level as a kid at recess. Malcolmson figured it was due to all the Mountain Dew he drank. Years later, Carroll switched his diet, cutting down on unhealthy foods, caffeine and sugar. ''I think he had more energy after that,' Malcolmson said recently. 'It wasn't the Mountain Dew. ''He doesn't believe he's got to get old,' Malcolmson said. 'He's like Benjamin Button.'' More than two decades after winning back-to-back national championships at USC, Carroll is still coaching with the same energy that he has had his entire career. Regardless of how his tenure in Las Vegas goes, that in itself is quite impressive.

5-star Oregon Ducks OT target Immanuel Iheanacho teases major recruiting announcement
The Oregon Ducks were going into the 4th of July weekend with expectations of seeing some fireworks in the recruiting world, but it appears those fireworks may come early. While 5-star offensive tackle Immanuel Iheanacho had a commitment date set for August 5, there was speculation that he might move that up to July 4 after making his decision early. According to his Instagram story, Iheanacho is set to announce something on ESPN at 12:30 p.m. ET on Thursday. There are other connections to be made here. On3's Hayes Fawcett tweeted on Thursday morning that a 5-star prospect was coming off the board soon, which ESPN's Pat McAfee retweeted, suggesting that it may happen on his show. If you connect the dots, it appears that Iheanacho may announce his commitment on July 3. This is great news for the Ducks, who are viewed as the heavy favorite to land the No. 8-rated player in the 2026 class. At 6-foot-6, 345 pounds, Iheanacho is a prototypical OT with a high upside going forward, giving the Ducks their next elite LT prospect following in the wake of Josh Conerly Jr., who was selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Washington Commanders earlier this year. We will tune into ESPN at 12:30 p.m. ET and see what happens. USC football picks up crystal ball prediction for four-star wide receiver Boobie Feaster
Although USC football already holds the No. 1 recruiting in the country for the 2026 cycle, the Trojans are far from done yet. On Friday, four-star wide receiver Ethan "Boobie" Feaster is set to announce his commitment. Wednesday morning, Rivals recruiting analysts Sam Spiegelman and Steve Wiltfong both put in crystal ball projections for USC to land Feaster. Feaster was originally a member of the class of 2027, but reclassified to 2026. Per the On3 industry rankings, the DeSoto, Texas native is the No. 45 overall player and the No. 5 wide receiver in the class. It is easy to see why USC is an attractive option for Feaster. Head coach Lincoln Riley has a great history with producing star wide receivers, both at USC and during his time at Oklahoma. Landing Feaster would be yet another massive addition for the Trojans, who, led by Riley and new general manager Chad Bowden, are putting together, an elite 2026 class. Feaster is deciding between, USC, Texas A&M, LSU, and Alabama. He will announced his school choice on Friday at 10:00 a.m. Pacific time.
