Moroccan security forces arrested a 21-year-old woman in Rabat on Friday for suspected links to the terrorist organization «ISIS» and for preparing a high-risk terrorist plot, the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ) announced on Saturday.
The suspect, a student at a technical institute, was taken into custody based on intelligence provided by the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
According to the BCIJ, the arrest resulted from joint operational cooperation and intelligence coordination between the DGST and French intelligence services. This collaboration made it possible to identify the suspect, monitor her extremist activities, and thwart the plot before it could be carried out.
Preliminary investigations revealed that she had already begun preparing for the attack by learning how to manufacture explosives and poisons, and by acquiring some of the necessary materials. The intended target was initially a religious site in Rabat.
A search of her home uncovered flammable substances, handwritten notes promoting extremist ideologies, and books inciting fanaticism, intolerance, and radicalism.
The suspect has been placed in custody as part of a judicial investigation led by the BCIJ, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor's Office responsible for terrorism cases. The investigation aims to determine who recruited and radicalized her, and to uncover any potential links to terrorist organizations.

Police in Agadir Arrest Two Wanted British Nationals

Rabat – Security services in Agadir arrested on Saturday two British nationals, subject to arrest warrants issued by the UK. The arrest took place based on precise intelligence from the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), a security source said. The first suspect is allegedly involved in a case of voluntary manslaughter, while the second was subject to an international wanted notice through a red notice issued by the UK. He was wanted for charges related to failure to appear in court and violations of parole conditions. The suspects are in custody as part of extradition proceedings. Police informed security authorities of the arrests to ensure the necessary extradition procedures. Morocco is a key stakeholder in the Interpol as the country has helped many countries to arrest suspects subject to arrest warrants. Earlier this month, Morocco's police arrested a French national of Malian origin on an international warrant issued by French judicial authorities. In May, Interpol President Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi commended Morocco's security efforts, describing the country's security system as advanced, efficient, professional, and committed to respecting human rights. Al Raisi also commended King Mohammed VI's efforts and determination to consistently give special care and attention to bolstering security efforts locally and on regional and international levels For the Interpol chief, Morocco has played a 'key role in supporting numerous global security projects and initiatives,' adding that the country contributed to strengthening international security cooperation mechanisms. The North African country has been playing a significant role in the fight against migrant smuggling networks, human trafficking, drug trafficking, terrorism, and organized crime, he added. A French fugitive wanted for attempted murder is believed to be hiding in Morocco

Adel B., 25, has once again narrowly escaped death. On the evening of June 22, he was reportedly targeted in a shooting in Garges-lès-Gonesse, a suburb of Paris, that left three people injured. This marks the fourth assassination attempt on his life in just three years. According to initial findings, Adel and several members of his family have been repeatedly targeted by a network of contract killers, allegedly acting on orders from «Mareko Scarla», a 23-year-old French inmate known to authorities for his role in organized crime and drug trafficking. However, investigators are now focusing on another suspect: Akim A., also known as «Kimo». Believed to be the mastermind behind the latest attack, the 25-year-old is reportedly on the run in Morocco, according to French judicial sources. An international arrest warrant has been issued for him, Le Parisien reports. The attacks appear to be part of a long-running feud between rival families that has escalated into a deadly cycle of revenge. Adel's brother and stepfather have already been killed in similar assaults. Several suspects have been indicted, particularly for murder as part of an organized gang. French authorities are also investigating potential accomplices, including those behind bars. Despite being held in solitary confinement, Mareko is believed to have continued directing criminal operations from his cell. A mobile phone was recently discovered in his possession.
