Viral sports car driver issues apology, pledges to 'stick to the back seat'
"To those who follow me, believe in me, and build with me. I'm not here to play victim. I'm here to own it," he said.
"Yes, I was issued a Show Cause Order for using my phone while driving. No excuses. That was my mistake. I take full responsibility," he added.
The driver also acknowleged the responsibility of the influence he may have on people.
He discloses the incident that was recorded on video was a quick selfie inside a Porsche.
"Not to show off but to lock in a moment I never thought I'd reach this early. That wasn't just a car. It was a milestone. A symbol of how far you can go when you stay focused, hungry, and relentless," he said.
"But even in moments of celebration, we have to stay sharp. I slipped. I'm learning from it. And I'm owning it like a man."
He included a message to young people, advising them, "Don't copy my mistake. Don't copy the driving. Copy the mindset. Copy the grind. Copy the fact that I earned that car not the way I held the phone inside it."
He said the incident was a "lesson in accountability. In growth."
"I'm not perfect, I'm just committed to being better than I was yesterday. To everyone still riding with me, thank you," he added.
"And don't worry… for now, I'm sticking to the backseat. Thank you. And I'm sorry," he concluded.
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) said it suspended the license of the driver for 90 days pending the result of an investigation.
The sports car, a Porsche, was also placed under alarm, the LTO said.
Mendoza said the driver of the Porsche sports car was creating social media content at the time the video was taken.
LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor Mendoza II said it was a clear violation of road safety rules. — BAP, GMA Integrated News

LTO: You can now renew your driver's license online
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Thursday launched an online platform where motorists can renew their driver's license online via an app. The LTO said the Online Driver's License Renewal System (ODLRS) aims to simplify the renewal process, reduce physical transactions, and bring public service closer to the public. 'This is a better alternative for going to LTO offices since you don't need to shell out money for transportation to our offices and don't even need to queue in any license renewal offices,' LTO chief Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said in a statement. To access the online application, motorists need to download and install the 'eGovPh' app in their smartphones which is available in the App Store and Google Play. The app would require security verification in order to protect users' accounts. These are the steps to avail of the online driver's license renewal: 1. Through eGov app, find the icon NGA, locate LTO, then click 2. Select Online Driver's Application 3. Click "Renew Your Driver's License" 4. Upload or Capture a Photo of the Front and Back of your Physical Driver's License 5. Once uploaded wait for the analyzation of the uploaded card (1min to 3min) 6. Once validation is complete, review and verify the details, then hit submit 7. Take a Photo and abide by the Required Standard Format which can be seen in the instructions before taking a Photo. For a fast and hassle-free online application, Mendoza advised applicants to first secure the following requirements that would be uploaded during the online transaction process: Telemedicine Medical Examination Inside LTO ODLRS Portal click "Telemedicine" Book appointment Attend and Finish the online medical examination Complete Online Driver's Enhancement Program (DEP) Inside LTO ODLRS Portal click ODEP Finish the five-hour education program Online Payment Choose a payment gateway Pay the corresponding renewal fee Mendoza said a successful transaction means the driver's license is already renewed. The electronic version of the driver's license is also automatically generated and can be viewed in the eGov app. He noted that the e-license is valid as the physical card. Clamps on 2 motorcycles in Iloilo City removed forcibly
The Iloilo City Traffic and Transportation Management Office (TTMO) is set to file charges against two riders who removed forcibly the tire clamps attached to their motorcycles. According to Uldarico Garbanzos, head of the Iloilo City TTMO, the two motorcycle riders parked their vehicles illegally at the sidewalk near a mall along Diversion Road, Mandurriao District morning on July 7, 2025. 'Intentionally sinira. Nang nalaman namin, pina-blotter namin agad sa station concerned. Ang clamping (clamp) namin, as part of government property, hindi pwedeng sirain,' Garbanzos emphasized. One of the riders turned himself in to the authorities. He was identified only as alias 'A-R,' a resident of Barangay San Juan, Molo District. He surrendered reportedly for fear he would be sued. The rider vowed to pay P5,000 for the damaged government property, and about P2,000 in fines for violating the 'No Parking and Clamping Zone Ordinance.' The Iloilo City TTMO has mulled on asking assistance from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) to establish the identity of the other rider. After which, a show cause order will be issued to the erring motorcycle rider. Garbanzos said that though they purchased standard, quality tire clamps, the tools are susceptible to destruction especially when strong force is applied. Since the Iloilo City TTMO started its clamping operation, five incidents of destruction of tire clamps have been recorded. Garbanzos told other motorists who have a fancy at destroying tire clamps: 'Take the risk. Good luck kung sisirain nyo lang ang aming clamp. Everytime na mag-clamping kami, may mga picture kaming kuha.'

Over P30B worth of illegal drugs seized in first half of 2025
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said on Tuesday that it has confiscated around P30.29 billion worth of illegal drugs in the first six months of 2025. PDEA spokesperson Joseph Frederick Calulut said in Bagong Pilipinas Ngayon that among the items they seized were shabu, marijuana, cocaine, and ecstacy. The anti-drug agency also said that it has conducted 19,765 anti-illegal drug operations in various regions including Region 7, 4-A,3, NCR, Region 11. Calulut noted that such operations led to the arrest of more than 26,000 individuals, including foreigners. 'Speaking of high-value targets na na-aresto sa period na 'yun, we have arrested 26,051 individuals and high-value targets dito is 1,551. Kapag sinabi nating high-value targets, kasama na rin po diyan yung mga foreigners. Sa katunuyan po, may mga 27 na foreigners na na-aresto and majority of this ay mga Tsino,' said Calulut, adding that these foreigners are members of drug syndicates. (Speaking of high-value targets who were arrested in the said period, we have arrested 26,051 individuals and 1,551 of them are high-value ones. Among the high-value targets are foreigners. In fact, we have arrested 27 foreigners and the majority of them are Chinese.) PDEA added that it has filed cases against 27,617 individuals and over 11,000 were convicted. The agency also said that from January to June of this year at least 4,027 barangays were cleared from illegal drugs activities. Calulut assured that there was no 'recycling' of confiscated illegal drugs as witnesses are present during the inventory. 'During the marking and inventory of drug evidence, nandiyan na rin ho ang mga witnesses. So wala hong masasabi ang mga tao na may recycling na nangyari,' he said.
