17 Horror Movies People Watched Too Early As Kids

Buzz Feed22-05-2025
While it can be fun to watch a horror movie every now and then, sometimes, a really scary film will stick with you forever. So when a Reddit user asked: "What is a movie that traumatized you so badly as a kid that you are still afraid of it as an adult?" I thought I would share their answers below:
"I never watched the full video in The Ring. When I watch the film, at that one part, I'll still close my eyes when the video is running. My phone won't ring mfers."
Watch the trailer here:
"Event Horizon. The scene where Sam Neil's character has his eyes gouged out just messed me up."
Watch the trailer here:
"It with Tim Curry."
Watch the trailer here:
"The Exorcist."
Watch the trailer here:
"For me, this would be all The Grudge movies: Ju-on, and the American remakes as well. When I was about 11, we were having a sleepover at my friend's house and decided that it would be a good idea to watch his older brother's Grudge movies, because 'We are big boys, we can handle it.' It's safe to say I didn't sleep much that night and was scared shitless by literally anything for many months to come. That crackling sound still haunts me to this day. Not the smartest decision that I've ever made..."
Watch the trailer here:
"The Descent. Fuck caves, and I can't stand scenes with thumbs through eyeballs."
Watch the trailer here:
"The Shining. Those twins and the tub lady."
Watch the trailer here:
"The Blair Witch Project. Marketing was so good for that film, I legit thought it was real. So here's 14/15-year-old me thinking I just watched a legit snuff film (opening weekend at that) and it jacked me up for a while. To this day, I get bad vibes from the movie."
Watch the trailer here:
"In Jaws, that scene when they look under the boat and they find... You know what I mean."
Watch the trailer here:
"The Dark Crystal."
Watch the trailer here:
"The first A Nightmare on Elm Street. I still can't watch it to this day."
Watch the trailer here:
"King Kong (2005). Watching those guys get destroyed by giant spiders, centipedes, and whatever the hell else that was attacking and eating them in that crevice."
Watch the trailer here:
"The Thing with Kurt Russell. Saw that when I was about 10, and it's always been my top horror movie."
Watch the trailer here:
"The Exorcism of Emily Rose? I think that's what it was called. I woke up every night at 3 a.m. and freaked the fuck out."
Watch the trailer here:
"Candyman."
Watch the trailer here:
"Thirteen Ghosts. The damn jackal just frightened the hell out of me as a kid."
Watch the trailer here:
"Poltergeist. I was way too young to watch that movie."

Groom Says ‘Annoying' Wedding MC Mispronounced Bride's Name and Made a ‘Dirty Joke' that Went 'Too Far'

A groom said he wasn't pleased with the "annoying" MC at their wedding who came with the DJ they hired He said the MC "mispronounced my wife's name as we entered the reception" and "made a dirty joke that went a little too far for our conservative family," among other things He said that he and his wife did not write a review for the DJ due to their unhappiness with the MC and declined a partial refund from himA groom wasn't too pleased with the MC he hired for his wedding. The man shared in a post on Reddit's popular 'Wedding Shaming' forum that he and his bride-to-be had hired a DJ for their wedding and met with him ahead of time to make sure that they were aligned on the wedding reception music. 'He was kind of soft spoken, so we wondered how he would handle making announcements and moving the evening along, but he seemed pretty professional so we figured he knew what he was doing,' the groom said. However, on the day of his wedding, he said he and his bride found out that they had actually 'hired a DJ and MC duo,' with the 'soft-spoken guy' playing the music and another 'outgoing' man making the announcements. He said that while the 'music/dancing' was 'awesome,' he had different feelings about how the MC handled things and said he was "so annoying." 'This VERY outgoing gentleman proceeded to yell over the microphone the whole evening, mispronounce my wife's name as we entered the reception, told the guests that 'the bride wanted them to shut up' during one of the speeches and made a dirty joke that went a little too far for our conservative family,' he said. For context, he noted in the comment section that they had over 280 guests, which is why he guessed that the MC 'felt like he had to yell in order to reach the room.' He added that while 'that alone would have been fine,' the 'other comments were really what rubbed us the wrong way.' He noted that it was a 'bummer' that he and his bride weren't able to meet him before the nuptials and 'possibly find out what we were signing up for, or for him to get a chance to understand our vibe.' He also said that he didn't have time during the ceremony to talk to him about it either. 'I don't think we would have ever thought to have a talk with him about [that] before they happened,' the room said. 'Maybe a more assertive couple would have.' He said that after the wedding, the DJ they worked with 'kept reaching out after the wedding to have us leave a review,' but his wife 'explained' to him 'that if we left an honest review, it might not look great for his business.' 'We really liked the DJ, and the music really was well done, so we didn't want to do that to him,' he continued. 'He was very apologetic after that and actually offered a partial refund, but we declined.' Read the original article on People

17 Hilarious Signs That Will Brighten Your Day

Welcome to another weekly roundup of Reddit's funniest signs. They're the way to make you forget about all the stress you had this week! Last week's was hilarious, and today's won't disappoint. Here we go: Here's one to remind you that most of humanity is still just as smart as rocks. This one sums up the English language for you. I would be patient on account of a demon. This one is for those of you with a disturbing sense of humor... If you can't make out the sign, here's the gist: Students have been "vigorously masturbating" in the school bathrooms, and the "bathroom pipes are not designed to handle human discharge." The "semen build-up" has caused a blockage in the pipes, and it is costing the school thousands of dollars. Therefore, students are being urged to masturbate in their own homes. Someone please explain what I *think* is the men's room to me. Doing stupid things with more energy sounds like a winning idea. When you realize the wrong spelling and punctuation can create an entirely different sentence. The master power cord that everyone wants can now be seen but not touched. Apparently flies can also read now. Who knew arcade bathrooms were a hotspot for fooling around. This pizza place in Reykjavik, Iceland seems actually tempting to try. At least these people don't have a demon in their fridge! The lunch crew at this school is really trying their hardest. Ooof. I am terrified. And this is also a bit scary. And, lastly, at least they were honest. Which one made you LOL the most?! Let us know in the comments, and be sure to check back next week for another hilarious roundup!

Here Are 45 Male Celebrities Who Bleached Their Hair And Surprisingly Pulled It Off

Recently, Superman star Nicholas Hoult has had the internet talking (and thirsting) after he successfully went blonde. NGL, this dropkicked me down a rabbit hole, wondering what other celebrities looked like with bleached hair. So, when redditor r/Classic-Carpet7609 suggested that every dark-haired famous man should try peroxide on this thread, I had to share the findings. Keep in mind, while Orlando Bloom as Legolas was everyone's brunette-to-blonde awakening, I'm only including natural hairdos going double platinum and not store-bought bussdowns. "As someone who's attracted to dark-haired men, Legolas had me in a fucking CHOKEHOLD." —u/ThatsMrsKrasinski2U Below are dark-haired celebrity men who bleached their hair, both from the Reddit thread and also my own brain: ANGELA WEISS / AFP via Getty Images, Raymond Hall / GC Images Efron "Blonde Zac Efron looks like he's about to take his sixth expedition to the continent of Africa."—u/AstroBearGaming Horan "Please don't forget about my OG bleached guy 😔 Looking back though his hair was FRIED around 2014/2015." —u/roheni Rogan "Seth Rogen in Platonic changed me. I'm generally into guys with dark hair (my husband has nearly black hair) but this, this made me question my whole life 🤤🤤🫣🫣" —u/notyounotmenoone Related: Blyth "I'm not proud to admit this in any way, but Tom Blyth had absolutely no right to look as good as he did with that young Coriolanus Snow blonde wig/bleached buzz cut. I don't know how or why it suited him so well, but damn." —u/getmeacampari "Peroxide Tom Blyth changed my whole perception of blonde men... and blue-eyed men for that matter." u/peaches_peachs Dempsey Williams "Blonde Robbie Williams was everything." —u/SergenteDan Malik "Zayn Malik's face card clears." —u/fatbacc Peters "i mean 😍😍😍" —u/crutonacrutona Gosling Yang "My king Bowen Yang." —u/manycats4u Teller Davidson —u/SomeFirstTimeHigh Jackson —u/Miele-Man Related: Messi Starr —u/angelyka3 Beckham Beckham Jr. Schulman —u/No_Place2613 Pitt Taylor-Johnson "Aaron Taylor-Johnson looked great blonde as Count Vronsky! He's also just really handsome." —u/borkborkymous Lochte Related: Messina "Blonde Chris Messina was so great." —u/AshlingIsWriting Marsters Timberlake Clooney Slater Blue Smith Smith Levine Puth Bailey 32.G-Eazy Disick Related: Howerton Bloom Bieber Haynes "Okay this was the first one I remember. I was born in '95, and in elementary school, all the boys went through a peroxide blonde faze because of Eminem." —u/envydub Jonas Hill Zakhar Perez "Taylor Zakhar Perez is hot blonde or dark haired." —u/jael001 Ahmed "Riz Ahmed is hot no matter what, but when he's bleach blonde it's so hot." —u/b_needs_a_cookie Stan finally, Nicholas again because he got that sh*t on. Did we forget anybody for anybody? Let me know in the comments, and I'll add them to the list and give you props, of course. Also in Celebrity: Also in Celebrity: Also in Celebrity:
