ITV The Chase's Jenny Ryan addresses 'incorrect' answer amid fix allegations
The Chase star Jenny Ryan, known as The Vixen, appeared on the Loose Women panel to address rumours surrounding "fix" allegations. It comes as viewers fumed following one episode where her "incorrect" response resulted in victory.
Jenny, who stars alongside host Bradley Walsh on the popular game show, found herself embroiled in controversy when a pair of knowledgeable contestants, Nick and Laura, gave her a genuine challenge during a tense final chase.
The pair had successfully gained 14 correct responses between them under their belt on the ITV programme, and although not a top score, it can certainly pile pressure onto the chasers to stay on top of their game to keep up.
The episode in question has continued to generate discussion among viewers and remains a divisive subject among those who tuned in, as reported by Bristol Live.
There was a lot of debate online, as a storm was created by fans after the two contestants left the show empty handed. Jenny seized the chance to explain the behind-the-scenes details that viewers hadn't witnessed.
At the time, allegations surfaced accusing Bradley Walsh of "rigging" the programme, with numerous people maintaining that Jenny's answer should have been deemed "incorrect".
During her appearance on Loose Women, alongside panellists including Kaye Adams, Coleen Nolan, Judi Love, and Nadia Sawalha, Jenny addressed the reasons she became entangled in the drama.
Judi started off the conversation, asking: "There was something really simple like a milk bottle that completely turned everything upside down."
Jenny spoke about how a seemingly harmless question sparked controversy amongst viewers, as she explained, "In the final chase I was asked a question about 'what colour is the lid on a bottle of semi-skimmed milk?'".
The panellists paused as they got in thought about the question, before launching into discussion as they unanimously decided on "green" as their response.
Jenny interrupted at that point as she gave a detailed clarification, "If you've got a plastic bottle from most supermarkets, I immediately thought of getting your milk delivered and it's red and silver on the top of a glass bottle."
Kaye responded stunned, as she decalred "Ohh is it," whilst Jenny continued: "So I went old school, so I gave the answer and production had to pause while everyone verified the facts and resolved the issue."
Jenny then emphasised the involvement of legal experts during The Chase recordings, as she noted "But thankfully we have lawyers on site when we're filming The Chase - who look after the contestants and the best interests of the chasers - and they agreed that it was an acceptable answer."
Coleen, curious about the result, inquired: "So was that in the final chase?" to which Jenny replied, "Yes it was," leading Coleen to probe further: "So did they lose?". With a wince, the quiz expert acknowledged, "Yes they did."

The Chase fans brand show a 'fix' as Jenny Ryan blocks £142k from going to charity after 'absolute stitch up' final round
Fans of the hugely popular game show The Chase have branded it a 'fix' after chaser Jenny Ryan blocked £142,000 from going to charity in an 'absolute stitch-up' final round. The ITV game show sees members of the public competing against quiz masters for large cash prizes. And in the case of the Celebrity edition, the money won goes to charities of the celebrities' choosing. This time singer Cheryl Baker, meteorologist Laura Tobin, journalist Mark Steel and athlete Jason Bell were competing against The Vixen. Jenny managed to catch Jason, but an impressive three out of four players made it through to the final chase, setting a competitive target of 19 correct questions. The trio pushed Jenny back multiple times, gaining themselves extra points. But in the end, they were caught with just three seconds left on the clock. Mark, Cheryl and Laura were left with £1,000 each for their charities as a consolation prize, having lost out on more than £140,000. Disgruntled viewers suspected foul play, and took to social media to express their suspicion. 'Oh come on,' wrote one person. 'Charity show yet the chaser still gets questions like "what three-letter word is short for magazine?" - absolute stitch up.' While some commenters focused on the apparent simplicity of the questions put to the chaser, others felt host Bradley Walsh was inconsistent. 'Bradley Walsh needs to stop speeding up when asking the chaser questions on the final round,' one said. 'Bit of a fix really.' And one viewer questioned the format of the answer system itself, writing: 'The final chase is rigged in favour of the chasers. 'They don't have to hit a buzzer and wait for their name before answering and they get a rest when they get one wrong.' 'The game is blatantly fixed,' wrote another. 'What is the point?' After their defeat, the team looked downtrodden. Bradley told them: 'Four attempts to push back, three executed, caught with three seconds remaining, you needed one more. Do you know what that one more was?' The chaser then chimed in: 'Jason,' in reference to the fourth eliminated player on the team. It comes as a former winner of The Chase issues a stern warning to others who make it onto television - informed by his experience on some of the UK's most popular game shows. Having also featured on The 1% Club and Tipping Point, Steven Sneade has become something of a veteran contestant. His most triumphant win came when he beat chaser Paul Sinha, aka The Sinnerman, and took home an impressive £17,000. But the 69-year-old hasn't always had such good luck. 'I was knocked out of The 1% Club on the first question,' he admitted. 'Then I just had to sit there for hours while the rest of the show was filmed.' Disgruntled viewers suspected foul play, and took to social media to express their suspicion Speaking on behalf of OLBG, Liverpool-based Steven revealed just how gruelling the interview process can be, as well as the tricky task of being 'entertaining' for the camera. 'It's a difficult one, because you've got to stand out from the crowd,' he said. 'But if that's not what you're like normally, you're not going to come across very well.' Steven warned against pretending to be someone else, arguing that both viewers and producers can smell inauthenticity. 'Trying to fake a big personality will not help,' he continued. 'If you're a naturally quieter person, trying to be an extrovert isn't going to work. It's going to come across as false.' But Steven stressed there is a balance to be found, because producers will inevitably be drawn to the most interesting contestants. 'You've got to remember that it is, first and foremost, an entertainment show,' he said. 'For ITV, it's to get as many viewers as they can. Try and see it from their point of view – what do they want? They want someone who is going to be a bit lively and a bit different.' As far as talking about yourself, Steven advised would-be contestants to sell themselves and pick out the juiciest nuggets. 'You've got to play for your strengths. If your hobby is that you play the piano, don't just say you play the piano at home - try and make it something excellent. If you once played at the Royal Albert Hall, say that.' The Chase is available to watch on ITV1 on weeknights at 5pm and to stream on ITVX.

Myleene Klass claims she caught ex-husband cheating with celebrity on her birthday
Former Hear'Say singer and Loose Women star Myleene Klass has shared her heartbreak after he caught ex-husband Graham Quinn cheating on her with a well-known celebrity Myleene Klass has opened up about the devastating moment she discovered ex-husband Graham Quinn being unfaithful with a well-known celebrity during celebrations for her birthday party. The Loose Women host, 47, recalled walking in on Graham and the unnamed woman at her own birthday party, catching them in an intimate moment. 'I walked in on him with a famous person on my birthday on a balcony,' she revealed on the We Need To Talk podcast. "I've made peace with that situation now but for a long time it was very difficult to see their life… Not that I would wish that on a family. "I don't know, I feel conflicted. But my life literally just broke apart very, very publicly. And their life, they've managed to continue building a family brand on it and it felt so difficult for a long time. This is the person I caught him with.' The moment took place in her home and although she didn't witness them having sex, Myleene said it was unmistakably obvious that there was much more to the brief interaction she stumbled upon. 'It was in my house, it was my party. They weren't having sex but they were unzipping each other. 'It's not what you think,' but it is what I think. It's the first thing they both said.' In the aftermath of seeing Graham cheating on her, Myleene cleared the house and told every single guest to leave her home, including Graham's own family. 'I kicked everybody out of the party including his mum and dad," she said. "They went back to Ireland. And his dad said, 'He doesn't get it from me.' I was like, OK, I just remember that being quite a weird thing to say.' Although Graham later offered Myleene apology, she said that blamed alcohol for what happened and for his 'unusual' actions. 'He said it was the drink. I have to take some accountability, first and foremost to my children," Myleene said on the podcast. The former singer then explained that while she has shielded her children from many of the details as to why she and Graham have split and the devastating reasons behind why it was so sudden, others haven't been as considerate to her and her kids. 'My children have asked enough questions and it's never been a case of laying out my stall now, it's got to be as and when," Myleene shared. "But here's the funny thing, school mums, people who just want to gossip, will go to your children before anybody else. They'll tell them facts. But they've been raised by me and only me."
