Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has directed officials to speed up preparation of the action plan on effective waste management in order to keep the villages clean, and to assign the responsibility of converting wet garbage into compost on-site to the DWCRA (Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas) groups.
Addressing a review meeting on circular economy at the Secretariat on Thursday, Mr. Naidu said waste should be collected from houses daily, and steps taken for converting wet waste into compost, and handing over the dry waste to agencies for disposal.
He also ordered the officials to set up 52 clusters across the State (two per district) for grading of waste, and not to let the dumping of waste on road margins.
The entire system of waste disposal should be streamlined by October 2, the Chief Minister told the officials, and to present awards to Gram Panchayats and individuals performing well in waste management on the given date.
The Panchayati Raj Department, Swachha Andhra Corporation and AP Pollution Control Board should make concerted efforts to achieve the desired results, he said.
Circular Economy Policy
Mr. Naidu wanted studies to be conducted on how waste generated in agriculture and allied sectors could contribute to the circular economy, and a Circular Economy Policy to be drafted on the basis of the Rajasthan model.
Also, he stressed the need to expedite the construction of the waste-to-energy plants coming up in Nellore, Rajahmundry, Kadapa and Kurnool.

The Chief Minister detailed Andhra Pradesh's newly introduced investment policies, reiterating the state's ambitious goal of achieving 160 gigawatt of green energy generation. He informed the High Commissioner that green hydrogen projects are already underway in Visakhapatnam (in partnership with NTPC) and Kakinada. Solidifying the state's technological aspirations, CM Naidu announced that Andhra Pradesh was set to establish India's first-ever Quantum Valley in Amaravati under the India Quantum Mission. He also confirmed that global tech giant Google was setting up a data center in Visakhapatnam. Highlighting the state's industrial potential, CM Naidu pointed out that regions like Rayalaseema offered highly conducive conditions for the establishment of defence, aerospace, electronics, and automobile manufacturing units. He expressed his view that Andhra Pradesh could serve as a strategic gateway for Singaporean investments into India and sought support to facilitate this. High Commissioner Ambule also noted that 83% of Singapore's population benefited from public housing projects. In response, Minister P. Narayana provided an overview of Andhra Pradesh's housing initiatives. The meeting also focused on collaboration in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, startups, medical device research, and academic partnerships between universities in Andhra Pradesh and Singapore. Ministers Nara Lokesh and TG Bharat, along with senior government officials from Andhra Pradesh, were present during the discussions.

Vijayawada: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu has said that his visit to Singapore has been planned to undo the gross blunders committed by the previous YSRCP regime. He said that Andhra Pradesh 's global image was badly hit due to YSRCP's unruly policies and corrupt practices. Naidu made an emotional appeal to Telugu diaspora to invest in Andhra Pradesh to bring it on to development track. Naidu on Sunday addressed a mammoth gathering of over 2,500 people of the Telugu diaspora from Southeast Asia in Singapore. Telugu people from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia atended the event. He remarked that Telugu people have adapted to the changing global scenarios. He said that the reforms brought by the TDP-led governments have transformed the lives of Telugu people. Naidu said that the Singapore government prepared a master plan for Amaravati for free following his personal request. He said he had entrusted the construction of the seed capital Singapore govt after seeing their amazing performance in construction of townships in many countries. Vijayawada: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday clinched a big ticket project on the day one of his Singapore visit as global construction gaint-Eversendai Engineering, based in Malaysia, expressed its keenness to set up its shop in Andhra Pradesh. Tan Sri Dato' AK Nathan, chairman and managing director (CMD) of Eversendai Engineering, met Naidu and held discussions about possible investment in AP. The discussions centered around setting up a state-of-the-art manufacturing factory and an integrated training centre in Andhra Pradesh. The Eversendai chairman mentioned that they are looking at Visakhapatnam or Krishnapatnam as a potential location for setting up the facility and enabling nationwide distribution of products. The proposed manufacturing unit would span about two lakh square metres. This proposed investment is expected to significantly contribute to industrial growth and generate large-scale employment in the state. Eversendai also expressed interest in investing in infrastructure projects related to the development of Amaravati, the state capital. Further, the chairman discussed the establishment of a structural engineering training centre in collaboration with premier institutions like IIT Tirupati and IIIT Sri City. Eversendai also highlighted that the company has previously contributed to landmark projects such as the Burj Khalifa, Petronas Towers, DLF Downtown Taramani in Chennai, and the Statue of Unity in Gujarat. Meanwhile, global urban infrastructure company Surbana Jurong has also came forward to invest in Andhra Pradesh. Representatives from the company met Naidu. The chief minister invited Surbana Jurong to actively invest in large-scale housing construction projects in the state and encouraged them to be a part of the housing for all, initiative. Naidu explained that the state is focusing on infrastructure development projects and highlighted the development of 20 ports and 15 airports, positioning itself as a logistics hub. He shared the government's vision of transforming these regions into industrial townships and urged the company to explore the investment opportunities in the state.
