Nissan to launch new e-Power hybrid system

Japanese automaker Nissan Motor Corporation announced it will launch its latest-generation e-Power hybrid powertrain in Europe this year, which it says delivers enhanced efficiency, lower emissions, and a quieter drive compared with the previous generation. Nissan pointed out that the third-generation, 5-in-1 modular e-Power system has been comprehensively re-engineered to help 'smooth its transition from fuel towards zero emissions.' It integrates the electric motor, generator, inverter, reducer and increaser, into a compact and lighter package. The new powertrain features an all-new, dedicated 3-cylinder 1.5-litre turbocharged engine used only to generate electricity, which is distributed directly to the electric motor and also to charge the battery when required. Nissan pointed out that the e-Power does not have a 'complicated gearbox and coupling to combine petrol power and electric energy to drive the wheels, meaning that response is instant and the drive is always smooth, just like an EV.' It also uses a regenerative braking system to convert kinetic energy into electrical energy, which is fed back into the battery. The new e-Power system will be installed for the first time in Europe in the new Qashqai, scheduled to be launched in September, providing a fuel consumption of 4.5 litres per 100 km (WLTP), a range of up to 1200 km, CO2 emissions reduced to 102g/km from 116g/km in the previous system, while cabin noise has been reduced to 5.6 decibels. It will have a 'real-world' range is over 1000 km on a full tank. The new e-Power system will also be available in the North American Rogue SUV in the 2026 model year and in the fourth-generation Elgrand large minivan, which is scheduled to be launched in Japan in the 2026 fiscal year. Nissan's Chief Technology Officer, Eiichi Akashi, said in a statement: 'This new, third generation e-Power system redefines Nissan's hybrid technology, providing smooth and responsive driving in all conditions. We've embedded close to a decade of learnings to ensure the system is more efficient, more refined, and more competitive. The launch with Qashqai is just the beginning. We look forward to delivering this advanced powertrain to customers in North America and Japan in FY26, with other markets to follow.' 2026 Infiniti QX60 Pricing Is Out, and It Costs More Than Before

The 2026 Infiniti QX60 costs more than before, with its base price rising by $1645 to $53,195. The new QX60 Sport joins the lineup, and it costs $3245 more than the Sensory trim it replaces. The new model year also brings minor visual tweaks, a newly standard digital gauge cluster, nicer interior materials, and an optional Klipsch audio system. Infiniti decided to give the QX60 a little freshening up for the 2026 model year, but Nissan's luxury brand also decided to make the three-row mid-size SUV a little more expensive. It's a common practice for automakers to raise prices year-over-year, and if you're in the market for an Infiniti QX60, the mid-level Luxe and top-of-the-line Autograph only cost $645 more than last year, but the other two trims see more notable price hikes. 2026 Infiniti QX60 Prices The QX60 Pure is the lineup's entry point, and for 2026, it starts at $53,195 (all-wheel drive adds $2000). That's $1645 more than before, but that's still a lot less than alternatives such as the Audi Q7 and Volvo XC90, which both start over $61K. The aforementioned QX60 Luxe has a $58,795 base price (again, add $2000 for AWD), and the next step up is the new Sport model. It replaces the Sensory trim level and features the same 268-hp variable-compression turbo four as the rest of the lineup. The QX60 Sport starts at $63,695, meaning its price has risen $3245 compared with the outgoing Sensory. For those who want the best of the best, the Autograph starts at $68,145. View Interior Photos INFINITI While Infiniti raised the prices on the QX60, it also made some changes that help offset the extra cost. For instance, every model now comes standard with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, an illuminated logo in the grill, and 20-inch wheels are the smallest set you can get. Customers can also now opt for a pretty new hue called Deep Emerald, and audiophiles will appreciate the newly available sound system. There's a 16-speaker Klipsch unit as well as a more powerful 20-speaker setup. The latter is standard on the Autograph, which also offers the $3150 Technology package that includes ProPilot 2.1 with hands-free driving assist. If you squint, you might also notice that the QX60's face now features a new grille mesh, larger side intakes, and a redesigned bumper. What cars can I lease for $300? Don't miss these deals before the end of June

Leasing a car, truck, or SUV is often much more affordable than the average monthly car payment. American drivers are paying an average of $745 a month for new car payments and $521 a month for used car payments. Drivers who choose to lease a vehicle instead of financing it can pay under $300 a month for a brand-new model. Leasing may have some drawbacks, but drivers who choose to lease over buying can save money in the short term and drive more vehicles in the long run. Luckily, there are several attractive lease offers that won't break the bank for folks who are interested in leasing instead of purchasing. These three affordable lease deals are only available until June 30. Japanese automaker Toyota redesigned the Camry nameplate for the 2025 model year. Aside from updated interior and exterior styling, the midsize car also benefits from a new standard hybrid-only powertrain. That's right, Toyota no longer offers new gas Camry models. The company has implemented this strategy with several nameplates including the Sienna minivan, Tundra full-size truck, and Sequoia full-size SUV. Toyota has mastered hybrid production. It currently produces 15 different hybrid models. The 2025 Toyota Camry boasts an incredible 51 miles per gallon combined. It has a 13-gallon tank size, so the midsize hybrid sedan is capable of traveling for over 663 miles on a full tank of gas. You can lease a 2025 Camry for $299 a month for 36 months with $3,999 due at signing. That works out to $14,763 for three years with one of the most efficient new hybrid midsize cars on the market. In recent years, Mazda has gained a reputation for producing luxury-adjacent vehicles at mainstream car prices. The CX-30 is no exception, offering an opulent cabin at an affordable starting price ($25,195). The 2025 Mazda CX-30 is available in eight different trims for drivers who want better performance specs and more advanced driver-assistance and safety features. The subcompact SUV comes standard with all-wheel drive for better traction. It also features standard blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, Mazda radar cruise control with stop and go, and remote keyless entry. Drivers can lease a 2025 Mazda CX-30 subcompact SUV for $239 a month for 36 months with $4,299 due at signing. That works out to $12,093 for three years with the 2025 CX-30. Japanese automaker Nissan produces several popular affordable nameplates including the Nissan Rogue, Nissan Altima, and Nissan Sentra. Edmunds praises the 2025 Nissan Sentra for its "comfortable ride, roomy trunk, appealing cabin materials, and design." If you're looking for an affordable daily driver for commuting, the Sentra is a great choice. You can lease a 2025 Nissan Sentra for $229 a month for 39 months with an initial payment of $3,259. This equates to $12,190 for three years and three months with the compact sedan. The 2025 Sentra includes excellent standard features like automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot warning, and remote keyless entry. Vehicle prices may be rising, but there are still plenty of great leasing deals available for American drivers from some of the most popular automakers in the country.
