Klopp's incredible £84k gesture as ex-Liverpool boss slams 'bulls***' claim
Jurgen Klopp donated an incredible £84,000 to Liverpool to mark his return to the club. The former boss has returned to Merseyside this weekend ahead of the Reds' Premier League title celebrations.
Liverpool will lift the trophy this weekend after their final match of the season against FA Cup winners Crystal Palace. Klopp had promised to be in attendance but has also had a number of other duties to fulfil over the past few days.
Klopp also attended the LFC Foundation's Gala Ball at Liverpool Cathedral on Friday having been named an ambassador of the charity. And Liverpool CEO Billy Hogan announced that the former boss donated a huge €100,000 (£84k) to help the charity's work in the community.
Attention will now turn to Liverpool's celebrations, with Klopp determined to make the most of it. Speaking in a video shared on the club's social media channels, he said: 'Hello. So now I'm back, back in Liverpool.
'Back here in the wonderful cathedral for the Liverpool Foundation. Finally. Too me a year to find a way back. But, now I'm here. What a weekend ahead. Wow.
'I heard the city will be buzzing. I'm pretty sure it will be and I see it from a different perspective. From a very good perspective. From your perspective. I told you on my last day from now on, I will be one of you.
'Yeah, okay, maybe standing in a black suit is maybe not the best example but at the weekend, I'll try to be in as much as you let me. I'll try to be part of it as much as you let me. So congratulations for last season.
'Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic. I enjoyed it so much. Congratulations to the team. Congratulations to Arne especially. What a guy and what a coach and let's have the best weekend of our lives so far because there are loads of great weekends will follow with this wonderful team and this great club. All the best.'
Klopp's donation comes amid questions over his future. He has been linked with a move to Italian side Roma to replace the outgoing Claudio Ranieri.
But speaking at the LFC Foundation gala, he rejected that speculation out of hand. He said: 'I'm not going to Roma. If you read any rumours about me taking a coaching job in the next few years it's b*******. You can be the first to say it.'

Chelsea's second game of Premier League season set to be moved to Friday night after Sky Sports request
CHELSEA'S second game of the season away at West Ham has been moved to a Friday night following a request from Sky Sports. The London rivals were due to meet in the Premier League on Saturday, August 23 with the Hammers hosting. 1 But according to the Daily Mail, Sky want to screen the eagerly-anticipated early-season game a day earlier at 8pm. That will come with the threat of fans spending longer in pubs with a later kick-off time. But police in the capital believe they can handle the switch, which is set to be rubber-stamped following the expected backing of other stakeholders. The reschedule does need the green light from the Safety Advisory Group, which is made up of officials from clubs, the local council and emergency services. And backing from the Met means the agreement should be a formality. Both West Ham and Chelsea and Sky declined to comment to the Mail. A Met Police spokesperson said: "The Met works closely with partners and clubs to ensure the safety and security of those attending football matches in London, and those in the wider community. "We want everyone to come and enjoy themselves and will act decisively to deal with anyone intent on causing trouble." Chelsea open their Premier League campaign on August 17 against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge. It will come off the back of the Club World Cup in America - having reached the Last 16. West Ham open their campaign away at Sunderland on August 16.

Man Utd 'break shirt number history' for 14-year-old they are desperate to keep
Manchester United have persuaded 14-year-old wonderkid JJ Gabriel to stay at the club, with the youngster viewed as one of the most promising young prospects in the academy JJ Gabriel, the 14-year-old wonderkid, has reportedly committed his future to Manchester United and been handed an official squad number. Gabriel, who has been dubbed 'Kid Messi', is viewed as one of the most exciting young prospects at the club. He made his debut for United's under-18s back in April, bagging a brace as the Red Devils thrashed Leeds 13-1. Gabriel is the son of former Republic of Ireland international Joe O'Cearuill and recently signed a lucrative sponsorship deal with Nike. According to the Daily Mail, Gabriel was attracting interest from a number of clubs but has decided to remain at United after director of football Jason Wilcox and director of football negotiations Matt Hargreaves stepped in and helped persuade the youngster to stay. And a photo has now emerged of Gabriel wearing United's new training gear, with the 14-year-old having been given the squad number 95. That would be the highest squad number a United player has ever worn. According to transfermarkt, the previous record was held by Godwill Kunoki who was given the number 87 last season. Alfie Brooks, who has worked with Gabriel as his specialist one-to-one coach, believes the wonderkid's technique is already good enough for the Premier League. "When he first started training, [his competitiveness] was the standout attribute," Brooks said. "I've coached nearly 1,000 academy players over my time - four of them in Josh Nichols ( Arsenal), Josh Acheampong ( Chelsea), Sydie Peck (Sheffield United) and Tyrique George (Chelsea) have made their senior debuts - and JJ is the best I've ever seen. "He could go into a Premier League changing room right now and technically he would be better than all of them. It wouldn't even be close." Gabriel is also said to have become close friends with Cristiano Ronaldo Jr during their time together in United's academy. Ronaldo Jr has since joined the Al Nassr Academy, with his father currently playing for the Saudi Arabian club. Ronaldo Jr made his debut for Portugal's under-15s in May, with Ronaldo Sr paying tribute to his son on Instagram as he wrote: "Congratulations on your debut for Portugal, son. Very proud of you."
