Denise Welch appears to be in tears during emotional chat with son Matty Healy

Metro7 hours ago
Denise Welch has been pictured apparently crying while sharing an emotional conversation with her son, rockstar Matty Healy.
The Loose Women panelist, 67, joined Matty, 36, on the sidewalk outside of a Los Angeles restaurant where he'd shared a meal with fiancée Gabriella Bechtel.
Matty and musician, actress, and model Gabriella Bechtel – known professionally as Gabbriette – first became linked in September 2023.
After being spotted together in September that year, they later confirmed their romance and were engaged by June 2024.
While former Coronation Street star Denise was less than complimentary about Matty's ex – pop sensation Taylor Swift – she's previously described Gabriella as 'everything I would want in a daughter in law.'
In images taken as the trio shared a meal together in Los Angeles, mum Denise took a moment for what seemed to be an emotional conversation with The 1975 frontman Matty.
In the images, Matty joined his mother outside the restaurant where they had been dining with Gabbriette, 28.
As Matty lights up a cigarette, it looks as though Denise begins crying.
Denise wore a light blue blazer over a white t-shirt with stripes, and rolled up blue trousers with a pair of chunky wedge shoes.
Matty, meanwhile, wore a pair of grey-tinged jeans and a dark sweater.
Other pictures from the evening showed Matty and Gabbriette as they left the restaurant together, with Matty covering his thick head of hair with a baseball cap.
In these images, Gabbriette wore a short-sleeved black top with dark coloured jeans and a pair of knee-high boots.
They made their way hand-in-hand down the stairs, apparently laughing and joking as they made their exit.
In a separate image, Denise can also be seen leaving the building, looking serious as she's helped down the steep steps.
Prior to his relationship with Gabbriette , Matty dated Tortured Poets Department songstress Taylor Swift.
Matty and Taylor reportedly dated for one month in 2023 before things 'fizzled out' and they ended their breakup.
When asked about her son's relationship with the Cruel Summer hitmaker, on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Denise joked: 'Obviously, on pain of death can I talk about that episode.'
She then added: 'But being her mother-in-law is a role that I am glad that I lost.'
'Not that I have anything against her at all,' she clarified, 'It was just—it was tricky.' More Trending
She added: 'Listen, you're not allowed to say anything, and then she writes a whole album about it.'
By contrast, she opened up about her son's engagement on an episode of Loose Women earlier this year, saying of Gabbriette: 'We couldn't be happier. She is everything I would want in a daughter in law.'
Gabbriette herself confirmed rumours of their engagement with a post to Instagram, sharing a snap of herself wielding a chunky great engagement ring while at a Charli XCX concert in New York City.
She captioned the post: 'MARRYING THE 1975 IS VERY BRAT.'

Justin Bieber shares cryptic four-word post after he admitted to 'extremely selfish' behavior

Justin Bieber appeared online Saturday evening to share a vague post with his 294 million Instagram followers. The 31-year-old Canadian music artist — who gave fans a glimpse into his mansion on Friday — shared a closeup black and white selfie and added a cryptic caption. 'Broke another olive branch,' he wrote, along with a single dove emoji. The Yummy hitmaker didn't add any context, but he could be hinting at ending another friendship after a post shared by him in June included screenshots from a heated text exchange with a former buddy. In February a rep for the star told TMZ he's had a 'very transformative' past year, in which 'he ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.' Just days ago the singer admitted to 'selfish' behavior in another social media caption. Engaging his online audience, he wrote, 'Let's have a good day, let's go outside. Get in nature.' Then he wrote, 'Thanking Jesus for his patience with me this morning. I can be extremely selfish and impatient yet Jesus always has his arms open toward me.' Justin released his surprise seventh studio album, SWAG, to great fanfare on July 11. Several songs make mention of his public persona, personal struggles, and his commitment to his wife Hailey and their baby son Jack Blues, who will turn one this month. There is also a theme of interludes featuring comedian Druski, in which Justin engages in candid 'therapy sessions' with the social media star. Rumors have recently circulated that the music sensation will tour Australia following the album release. Justin has not confirmed whether he will be touring, nor has Frontier Touring, who told Rolling Stone it had no information on any potential Australian tour dates. The hitmaker previously cancelled his Justice world tour in 2022 for health reasons. On Friday the Honest crooner gave his Instagram followers a peek inside the $26 million Beverly Hills mansion he shares with wife Hailey Bieber. He shared a brief reel as he joined the 'slide city' internet challenge inspired by a lyric from his hit song Yukon. Justin was dressed in red basketball shorts and a white T-shirt as he slid across his hardwood kitchen floor in a pair of knit socks. Hailey, 28, made a cameo appearance as she was shown in the background wearing black leggings and a black pullover sweatshirt.

Coronation Street icon to come back as Rovers Return landlady

Catherine Tyldsley, known for the role of Eva Price, is reportedly joining the ITV soap again to take on one of the most beloved roles in Weatherfield. It comes after Sally Ann Matthews, who plays recent pub landlady Jenny Connor, confirmed she would be leaving Corrie. A post shared by Catherine Tyldesley (@auntiecath17) Eva, who first arrived on the programme in 2011, will be following in the footsteps of former Rovers Return legends Liz McDonald, Bet Lynch and Annie Walker. A source told The Sun: 'It's one of the biggest jobs in soap, the landlady of the Rovers Return pub. "Bosses were desperate to get Cath back. "They came up with the perfect storyline with her being unveiled as the new landlady of the Rovers.' Corrie fans might remember Eva was last seen leaving the famous street in 2018 for a fresh start in France with her daughter Susie. This came after the heartbreaking death of her child's father, Aidan Connor (Shayne Ward). Following rumours of Catherine making her way back to Corrie earlier this year, fans began speculating if she could be the new Rovers Return landlady on Reddit, as the pub was put up for sale by Carla Connor (Alison King). In a discussion about who could be taking on the job of the adored watering hole, someone said on the r/coronationstreet page: 'I thought Catherine Tyldesley was coming back? If so, I reckon it could be her.' 'I imagine her and Glenda (Jodie Prenger) would put on so many fun bingo nights and the like. If not I'm sure the punter would come streaming in anyway to look dreamily into Eva's eyes while hearing absolutely nothing of what she's saying.'
