Kaizer Chiefs transfer news: Moloisane, Castillo, Rhodes
Amakhosi have already signed six players but judging but their first pre-season match, the club still need a few more players. Their 2-1 loss to Dutch outfit outlines some of the problems the clun experienced last season.
In terms of attack and defence, Kaizer Chiefs still lack. They have signed two midfielders but with Thabo Cele operating well in that position, one feels the club should put their resources into other positions.
With over a month left before Amakhosi start their 2025/26 campaign, there's still plenty of players to scout.
Jaedin Rhodes is one of the most wanted players in the PSL following Cape Town City's shock relegation to the Motsepe Foundation Championship. The 22-year-old is in demand and has attracted interest from rivals Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns.
According to SABC, Stellenbosch defender Thabo Moloisane is a free agent.
'Yes, this is our last dance so to speak. Thabo has had an incredible stint at Stellenbosch FC and enjoyed quite a number of milestones with the club, including being called up to Bafana Bafana,' explained agent Karabo Tshabuse.
'With that in mind, there were discussions for a contract extension, which was tabled for him to continue playing there beyond just next season. But we could not find each other – so this will be Thabo's final year at the club,' he said as per SABC Sport .
According to reports, Kaizer Chiefs have parted ways with Edson Castillo. The South American is not part of the squad that travelled to the Netherlands last week.

Kaizer Chiefs delaying another announcement
The Kaizer Chiefs midfielder is no longer with Amakhosi and has reportedly already signed a new contract with a club abroad. Despite his confirmed departure behind the scenes, Kaizer Chiefs have remained publicly silent, mirroring the pattern seen with recent exits like Bongani Sam and Tebogo Potsane — both of whom left weeks before the club formally acknowledged their departures. The Venezuelan international joined Amakhosi ahead of the 2023/24 season and quickly became a fan favourite with his high work rate and ability to arrive in the box to score. Full list: Kaizer Chiefs decisions on 14 players Despite his quality, the 31-year-old missed a chunk of last season out injured. With coach Nasreddine Nabi actively searching for foreign players to become regular starters, Castillo had to make way. While there may be internal reasons for Kaizer Chiefs' timing of announcements — such as pending negotiations or legal formalities — the lack of clear communication continues to fuel speculation and confusion. Until Amakhosi breaks its silence, Castillo's departure remains unofficial in public terms — but within football circles, it's already a done deal. How to watch Paarl Gimnasium vs Paarl Boys' High
The two standout rugby schools in South Africa in 2025 - Paarl Gimnasium and Paarl Boys' High - will clash on Saturday. Image: Premier Interschools Home » How to watch Paarl Gimnasium vs Paarl Boys' High The two standout rugby schools in South Africa in 2025 - Paarl Gimnasium and Paarl Boys' High - will clash on Saturday. Image: Premier Interschools The Springboks won't be in action for another couple of weeks, but if anyone needs any reminding of how much talent and passion run through all levels of the game, they would do well to observe how Paarl will become the centre of attention for the iconic Paarl Gimnasium vs Paarl Boys' High schoolboy derby on Saturday. This remains a major attraction on the rugby calendar every year, and kick off has been confirmed for 16:00. For those who can't be there in person, the match will be screened live on SuperSport channel 216. This year's match will be played in front of a packed stadium, with about 20,000 fans expected, and Paarl Gimnasium director of rugby Pieter Rossouw has likened preparations for Saturday's interschools clash against Paarl Boys' to that of a World Cup. 'For many of the boys, this is the biggest game of their rugby career. It's something they've been dreaming about for a long time,' Rossouw said at a pre-match press conference. 'I think you can compare it to the journey of a World Cup tournament, where guys prepare for four years to play in that final. Similarly, boys come into school in Grade 8 and dream of playing for the 1st XV in that particular [interschools] game.' Meanwhile, Paarl Boys' coach Sean Erasmus believes Saturday's showdown will shine a light on the incredible pool of talent at schoolboy level. 'Among the 30 boys who will play, I believe there could very well be three or four future Springboks,' he said. Erasmus added that Boishaai had learned from last year's disappointing 30-8 defeat to Gimmies. 'We conceded 30 points in the interschools last year and afterwards we talked to each other about how it was an important lesson and what we could take from it. 'It's nice to see how the boys who are now in matric have grown as people.' Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 0211.
