Former Corrie star Sonia Ibrahim is best known for playing villainous Mel Maguire in the ITV soap, but she has since moved to Channel 4's Hollyoaks, where she plays the enigmatic Kat
Coronation Street and Hollyoaks star Sonia Ibrahim has welcomed her second baby, announcing his adorable name on Instagram. The soap actress, 36, posted a photo of baby Carter Benjamin Machin, giving her followers a glimpse of her sweet bundle of joy.
Sonia, best known for portraying her character Mel Maguire in Corrie, could be seen gazing at her new baby in the photo she shared. She wrote: 'Sunday 22nd June at 10:26pm my life became complete. My beautiful boy Carter Benjamin Machin arrived, 7lbs of pure perfection. You are loved more than you will ever know little man.'

Fans and friends flocked to the comments to congratulate Sonia, who is also mum to three-year-old Sienna. Fellow Corrie star Lucy Fallon wrote: "Gorgeous, congratulations xxxxx."

Mum-fluencer Lucy Elizabeth Adamson replied: "Stop it," followed by a series of crying emojis. Ashely Taylor Dawson, who plays Darren on Hollyoaks, added: "Congratulations to you and your beautiful family! So happy for you all! Massive love."
Actress Sonia announced she was growing her family in February, when she shared an adorable clip showing her eldest, Sienna with her little hands over the scan photo. Another clip in her reel showed her posing in a mirror, her growing bump on show.
Proud mum Sonia wrote: "All of my dreams have come true, half way there and we can't wait to meet you our beautiful baby boy." Her post was met with hundreds of comments from well-wishers.
Sonia had her baby shower less than a month ago, where her friends and family joined her to celebrate the imminent arrival of her second child. She posted a reel on Instagram from the event, where she could be seen doing a happy dance, posing with members of her family and showing off her baby-blue themed decor.
At the time, Sonia wrote: "The most perfect afternoon spent with the most beautiful people showering my little Prince. Thank you so much to the kindest, most thoughtful beautiful besties I could wish for organising my baby shower we love you."

Devoted soap fans will remember actress Sonia Ibrahim's role as villainous Mel Maguire in Corrie. She called the cobbles home between December 2016 and October 2017.
Mel became embroiled in Bethany Platt's (played by Lucy Fallon) harrowing grooming narrative, helping villain Nathan Curtis (portrayed by Chris Harper). Mel's final storyline involved a tense kidnapping attempt on Bethany, aimed at preventing her court testimony against Nathan which, thankfully, ended with Bethany's release.

Sonia has in the past expressed how proud she was to be part of the iconic soap. She told Lancs Live: "I was literally over the moon and I cried my eyes out when my agent told me [I was joining]!
"It's such an amazing place to work and it's been an honour to be here. I was really excited to meet everybody, because I'm a fan of Coronation Street and I watch the show anyway."
Since leaving the cobbles, Sonia took a part in BBC's Waterloo Road as Jamilah Omar. Most recently, she joined the Hollyoaks cast as the enigmatic Kat, linked to resident Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey).
Her first appearance in the Channel 4 drama aired in November. Her first episode saw her join Ethaniel Davy, who stepped into Jacob's shoes.

Inside stunning London hotel with luxurious rooms & lavish afternoon tea fit for a royal

THE Rubens welcomes you not just with style and luxury, but with genuine warmth. From manager Leo Forte to Emmanuele and Elliott behind the New York Bar to Kamal in the tea salon to Andy in his top hat on the front door, the welcome at this high-end hotel is authentic. And a Cartier, at that. Other makes are of course available. I mention this one, though, because when we booked, they asked if we had plans for our stay in London and I mentioned that my wife Sonia was desperate to see the Cartier jewellery exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum. When we checked into our room — more of which wowness in a moment — there on the table was a beautifully-presented folder with highlights of what we could expect from it. This is just the kind of thing The Rubens likes to do for its visitors, just as when we returned from the V&A for afternoon tea the next day, they brought us two gorgeous, handmade chocolate bonbons designed as Cartier emeralds. Sonia was knocked sideways by it all. By the time we checked out, she was hunting down manager Leo to tell him it had been the greatest experience of her life. His reply was typical of how The Rubens operates. He tapped his right hand on his heart and said: 'Thank you. We encourage everyone to speak and act from here.' Now, you might think he WOULD say that, but the smiles are real from all Leo's team. Their conversations are casual, they take a genuine interest and pay forensic attention to the small details that make a big difference. For me, that means pillows that enable a perfect night's sleep, big chunky chips that are light as air, a fantastic Negroni made in a bar-top still and outstanding coffee with breakfast. But most of all, the very way the staff go about their jobs from early until late. We were overjoyed to stay in the King's Suite, with its canopied four-poster bed, two bathrooms and separate living and dining room. It seriously was bigger than my first flat. It's more understated than flash, but that's The Rubens to its foundations; more about comfort and discretion than look-at-us pizzazz. Well, almost everything, because if you're staying there, or even just in the Victoria area, go and see the modern addition of the Living Wall on the hotel's gable — ten tonnes in weight, 21 metres high, with 10,000 plants attracting butterflies, bees and birds and acting as natural air conditioning for the entire building come summer. 5 The welcome at this high-end hotel is authentic 5 Handmade chocolate bonbons designed as Cartier emeralds When it comes to tradition, however, afternoon tea is the perfect example. One which continues regardless at its same, elegant pace, in the same air of calm. Not to mention with the same end result for those fortunate to enjoy; that of needing a lie down after working their way through all those sandwiches, pastries, and scones. As for dinner? We shared an amuse-bouche plate of tuna, chicken and mashed potato, before Sonia the lobster bisque, I had the gravadlax then we both had what we agreed was the best ribeye in the history of cows. Never forgetting those feather-light chips. So, in the end, my far better half was as right as she always is. Rubens At The Palace really WAS one for the scrapbook, a stay never to be forgotten.

However, things didn't appear to have gone quite to plan, judging by Rebecca's Instagram Stories post. In the image, she showed that she'd been left with three lines of raised bumps on her neck. The lumps on her neck under her chin looked to have started healing, with some of them disappearing completely. It's not clear exactly what procedure Rebecca had, but Claire's website states that she offers countless facial rejuvenation procedures - from micro-needling to LED light therapy. The picture of Rebecca's bumpy neck went viral on social media, with people taking to the comments section of the posts to weigh in on what treatment Rebecca may have received. "Looks like MicroBotox to me," one wrote. "This pic was probably taken right after and then the bumps go down. "Nothing major that is for sure!" People compare me to Kris Jenner - now she's 'had a facelift', they say we look even more like 'twins' "These are Botox injection bumps and will literally be gone in under 10 minutes," another added. "You all do realise this is probs just polys?" a third asked. "It goes down within half hour - it's a simple easy good little treatment." "This is a Skin Booster, and this is exactly what it should look like post injections," someone else commented. Kris, 69, left fans stunned when she stepped out showcasing her new youthful look, with her rep confirming to Page Six that she underwent aesthetic enhancements from New York plastic surgeon Dr. Steven Levine. Although it has not been revealed exactly what she had done, many critics have suggested she underwent a deep plane facelift. What is a face lift and how quick is the recovery? A FACE lift (technically called a rhytidectomy) is a cosmetic surgical procedure which tries to reduce visible signs of ageing in the face and neck. The procedure begins with either general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia with sedation to ensure you're comfortable and pain-free. The surgeon makes incisions based on the type of face lift. The surgeon lifts the skin and underlying tissues (SMAS layer – superficial musculoaponeurotic system). Fat may be sculpted, removed, or redistributed. The underlying muscle and connective tissues are tightened and repositioned to create a more youthful look. The skin is gently laid back over the newly repositioned contours and incisions are closed with sutures (medical stitch) or skin adhesives. Recovery time varies, but most people return to normal activities within two to four weeks. In an exclusive chat with The U.S. Sun, Dr. Norman Rowe, who did not do Kris's work but specializes in deep plane facelifts, was asked how much her rumoured procedure might have set her back. "It depends on whether or not you're getting it in Cincinnati, Ohio, or Miami or New York or LA," he said. "I mean, it can range from, five figures to six figures."
