ITV The Chase star Anne Hegerty addresses co-star's blunt remark after 'beating him'
Television star Anne Hegerty, known for her role on The Chase, revealed that she was asked a rather direct question by one of her ITV colleagues during a quiz competition.
Anne was chatting with Clayton Bjelan on his podcast Towards Understanding about her career when she recalled an encounter with a fellow quizzer who informed her about a new show he was working on for ITV.
The Chase star, celebrating her 67th birthday today, shared: "[One] month I went to the British end of the world championships in which I did pretty well and I went to the bar to get a drink before lunch.
"As I stepped inside the bar I was greeted by what I've since described as the largest man I've ever seen in my life and he said 'Hi! My name's Mark Labbett, you beat me last month, who are you?'"
"He said, 'I've just finished recording the pilot series for this show' and he described the format."
Since joining The Chase, the very show Mark had filmed the pilot series for as one of the Chasers in 2010, Anne has won over viewers and remained a staple on the programme.
She joined The Chase a year after Mark's debut in 2009 and they have both since become recognisable figures in the public eye.
She also participated in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! and spoke about the effects of an unexpected rise to fame, which involves a great deal of social interaction.
Speaking to Best magazine, she confessed: "There are times when I would like to have a less social life than I do. The thing is, I could say 'No' more, so really, that's on me. I'd quite like it if things were not so busy, but then if they weren't so busy, I'd worry."

Besides her role on the British game show The Chase, Anne participates in the Australian version alongside Mark and has opened up about how being autistic has impacted her personal relationships.
During The Chasers Road Trip, she discussed a four-month relationship, expressing her struggle with romantic expectations. She explained: "He was a lovely bloke but I am just not good with the sort of attention that people need."
Talking OK! Magazine, she elaborated on her experiences of love and relationships. She said: "I fall in love with historical or fictional characters. People I can put a bit of distance between.
"I get overwhelmed in the presence of actual people and everything shuts down. I've found that with sex, too. It's like I can't be fully in it. That much intimacy, I almost zone out."

Major broadcaster launches brand new channel but it won't come to all homes
Households who watch TV in a classic format will be missing out. In the past, the vast majority of households across the UK used to fight with their aerial to get a solid signal so they could sit down and watch their favourite free-to-view shows. However, with the creation of smart TVs and streaming devices, the number of homes who still use an aerial has begun to dwindle. And a recent announcement may see even more people make the switch to broadband viewing. Those who still watch freeview broadcasters through an aerial will miss out on a brand new channel from a major broadcaster, and this may be the tipping point for some viewers. Channel 4 has confirmed that it will soon be launching an all-new channel, however not everyone will have instant access. The broadcaster has made the decision to make this channel available only for those who stream through their WiFi, reports the Express. Ultimately this means that TVs that aren't run through the household WiFi won't be able to tune in to this sparkling new channel and its various content. Named 'A Comedy Thing by Channel 4', this new service is set to arrive onto TVs later on this month and will be accessible through YouTube. This new service will see Channel 4 publish weekly long-form content (around 20-30 minutes) on YouTube, with cutdown editions available on Instagram and TikTok to help engage audiences. As more people now consume content online through apps rather than traditional broadcasting methods, this new service is aimed to draw in more Gen Z viewers. For those who rely on an aerial instead of broadband, they won't be able to access any of this new content as it will not be added on to the Freeview TV Guide. Speaking about the launch of the new channel, head of digital commissioning Sacha Khari said: "Channel 4 has a long history of shaping British comedy, and with A Comedy Thing by Channel 4, we're bringing that legacy into pixels. "It's built for a community who get their laughs online first but still love the buzz of a live gig. Whether you're discovering your next favourite comic on YouTube or catching them on stage later, this channel delivers straight to your feed." He continued: "We're teaming up with Strong Watch Studios and a brilliant line-up of sharp, standout comics to create original formats, perfectly suited to digitally savvy audiences. "Our digital shows are already building loyal fanbases and getting real recognition and A Comedy Thing by Channel 4 is the next step." Channel 4 isn't the first of the broadcasters to make a move away from traditional aerial broadcasting. Freeview themselves has seen the increasing move to broadband-based streaming and has made moves to make their service more accessible. The Freely app was launched last year and includes all of your Freeview content, as well as a swathe of new channels, more features and regular updates. Already built into a variety of smart TVs, such as HiSense, Toshiba and Panasonic, this free-to-view service is making headway in the broadband-powered world. However, it should be noted that Channel 4's newest channel also won't feature on the Freely TV guide. Martin Lewis leaves Cat Deeley blushing with VERY rude comment about his measurements as This Morning's viewer phone-in takes raunchy turn
Martin Lewis left Cat Deeley blushing today as he shared an eye-opening comment about his measurements live on This Morning. Fans tuned into the ITV daytime show as Cat, 48, and Ben, 50, hosted their final week before taking their summer holidays. During the show the duo covered the second part of their counterfeit Botox investigation, hearing from Ashley James and Hollyoaks ' Sarah Jayne-Dunn. Resident consumer expert Martin Lewis then joined them as they covered childcare supports as the summer holidays approach. But as the segment came to an end, it took a very interesting - and revealing - turn. Ben told viewers how Martin would be sticking around for a phone-in where they could ask him 'anything' as he declared: 'Nothing is off limits.' However, the Money Saving Expert quickly hit back, telling Ben: 'Well, some are.' Kicking off the playful exchange, he then added: 'Inside leg, 33 inches.' As Ben's eyes widened and he questioned the measurement, Martin quickly clarified he 'made up' that figure of his lower area. The back and forth continued as Ben quipped it was 'a bit long' before Martin said: 'Is it? Let's measure... I'll do it myself.' Blushing, Cat then interjected: 'Can we do this over the break, gents? Could we? Possibly?' The mum-of-two added 'I'll go pee or do something different' before quickly moving on with the programme. Meanwhile, last week Cat and Ben's summer replacements were officially revealed by ITV bosses before they take a whopping six-week break. In a fun social media clip, they told fans how Friday hosts Dermot O'Leary and Alison Hammond will kick off the summer lineup. Dermot, 52, will then present the alongside former Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes and Love Island star Olivia Attwood, who makes her This Morning debut. Former Big Brother host Emma Willis will also return to the sofa, anchoring alongside The Masked Singer's Joel Dommett. In a change from dialing in from holiday hotspots, Andi Peters will be in the studio to host with Emma, 49, who made her hosting debut last year. Fan-favourite Irish presenter Craig Doyle will also be back on the sofa with Sian Welby as well as Josie Gibson, who has been missing from screens recently. Rylan Clark will also make a comeback later in August with mum-of-one Sian and Josie, 40.
