Henry Golding says portraying James Bond is every actors 'nightmare'
Washington DC [US], June 29 (ANI): Actor Henry Golding shared his opinions on being a potential actor to star in the new James Bond movie directed by Denis Villeneuve, reported People.
Henry Golding, a British actor who is known for 'The Gentlemen', 'Crazy Rich Asians', A Simple Favor' and others, believes that playing the role of James Bond is a "nightmare" for every actor.
"I think that's every actor's kind of nightmare," Golding told People at 'The Old Guard 2' red carpet premiere in Los Angeles.
He also expressed his interest in adding new additions to the franchise. He also suggests on bringing out more 'agents" or 'OO's.
"At the same time, [you're] also wanting to kind of add something new to a franchise. Why can't they bring out more agents or more OO's? I think that would be so much more fun because there just isn't the restraints and the expectation," said Golding as quoted by People.
Despite his initial response, the actor admitted that he may be scared due to the "overhanging cultural pressure" behind the portrayal of the next James Bond.
"Maybe I'm just a pu***. I don't know. But I think I would love it so much more if there wasn't that overhanging cultural pressure," said Golding as quoted by People.
According to Variety, Golding is one of several candidates to be cast as the martini-sipping superspy in the forthcoming film.
Bond was last played by Daniel Craig in the 2021 film, 'No Time to Die.' Other actors who played the role have been George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton and, most famously, Sean Connery.
Bond was created by British author Ian Fleming in 1953. The film franchise launched in 1962 with Connery as Bond in the film 'Dr. No' that same year, reported Variety.
On June 25, Amazon MGM Studios revealed that Denis Villeneuve will direct the next iteration of the spy movie, with Tanya Lapointe joining as an executive producer, reported Variety.

Washington DC [US], June 29 (ANI): Actor Rainn Wilson recently opened up about the difficulties filming 'The Office' after Steve Carell left the show in 2011, reported Variety. Rainn Wilson, who played Dwight Schrute, discussed his experience working on the comedy series for nine seasons with podcast hosts Josh Peck and Ben Soffer. 'The Office' co-star admitted in the interview that it was challenging for the cast and production to continue the show after they lost their leading man, reported Variety. Cobra Kai creators reveal they reached out to Hilary Swank for final season cameo
Washington [US], June 29 (ANI): As 'Cobra Kai' brings the 'Karate Kid' universe to a close with its sixth and final season, the show's creators have revealed that they made an effort to bring back a familiar face, Hilary Swank. The two-time Oscar-winning actress portrayed Julie Pierce in 'The Next Karate Kid' (1994), a character who has been absent from the franchise for over three decades. Josh Heald, who co-created the series with Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg, shared in an interview that they reached out to Swank's team early on in the process of developing the final season, according to Deadline. The creators had an idea for how Julie Pierce could fit into the Cobra Kai storyline without requiring a full commitment to the season. "We did reach out in the very early days before the season to see if there was a path [for her to appear]," Heald said in an interview, adding, "We had an inkling of an idea about how she could come into this story and not have to commit to 10 episodes or something," as quoted by Deadline. Heald further explained that they approached Swank's team with a "genesis of an idea" about how Julie could return to the larger 'Karate Kid' universe. They were hoping for an opportunity to meet with her and discuss the potential storyline in greater detail. However, despite their efforts, the creators were unable to secure a meeting with Swank. Heald described the response from the actress as "very respectful" but added that she was not in a place where she was ready to revisit the role.
