Today, it's whether the Steelers should pursue cornerback Jalen Ramsey as a trade option. The Miami Dolphins are trading Ramsey, the 30-year-old, seven-time Pro Bowler, in what is apparently a mutual decision. The Steelers are already set at outside corberback with Darius Slay and Joey Porter Jr. in the fold. They could use Ramsey as an option in the slot, where he would certainly be an upgrade over Beanie Bishop. But he is due $21.1 million over the rest of the 2025 season -- a hefty sum for any cornerback, let alone one playing in the slot -- and it's unlikely that a move to a more phyiscally demanding position at 30 years old would be the thing that would please the disgruntled Dolphins corner. Steelers coach admits Aaron Rodgers is tough on receivers — but welcomes the challenge
Aaron Rodgers is known for demanding perfection of wide receivers, but Steelers WR coach Zach Azzanni isn't backing down from it — he welcomes the challenge. Speaking to ESPN's Brooke Pryor, Azzanni explained why he doesn't just tolerate Rodgers intensity with the receivers — he embraces it: "I love that challenge," Azzanni said. "I like that. I'd rather have someone that's dialed into the detail in the perimeter, and those guys ultimately have to be on the same page. I understand that he's hard on receivers, and I like that because I'm hard on receivers." Arguably, the most infamous example of his demanding nature was evident in his public criticism of then-Jets WR Mike Williams for running the wrong route — which led the wide receiver taking subtle jabs at the quarterback on social media. Former Super Bowl champion DE Chris Long warned that DK Metcalf could find himself in Rodgers' crosshairs if he can't meet his expectations — but clearly, Azzanni is excited for the opportunity for his receivers to be held to a higher standard. In the spirit of the countdown, we're taking a look at the history of No. 71 and the players who wore it best. Current Steelers No. 71 wearer: OG Aiden Williams Following the 2025 NFL Draft, Williams signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent. He played six seasons for Minnesota-Duluth (2019–2024) and appeared in 40 games — starting all 40. According to the Steelers' official team website, Williams was named a 2024 AFCA First Team All-American, a 2024 Don Hansen NCAA DII Honorable Mention All-American, and a 2025 East-West Shrine Bowl invitee. Pittsburgh has found hidden gems at guard before — but for Williams to fit this trend, he'll have to compete with backup guards Max Scharping and Spencer Anderson for a roster spot. Last five Steelers to wear No. 71: Best No. 71 in Steelers history: OT Charlie Bradshaw Bradshaw is without a doubt the best Steeler to wear the No. 71 — earning two Pro Bowl selections during his time in Pittsburgh from 1961 to 1966. Bradshaw was the anchor at the offensive tackle position, playing in 82 games for Pittsburgh — 80 of which came as starts. He was ultimately named to the Pittsburgh Steelers Legends — a selection of the franchise's best players before the 1970s.
