£16,000 worth of counterfeit tobacco products seized from shop
Eden Police, along with the council's trading standards officers, attended the European Mini Market following reports the store was selling illicit tobacco products.
They seized 404 packs of cigarettes, 235 50g packs of hand-rolling tobacco, and 158 vapes.
A spokesperson from Eden Police said: "All of which were illicit or counterfeit in some way, the approximate value of the goods seized was £16,000.
"Thank you to the members of the public who contributed to the seizure.
"Any information or intelligence about on going crime in Cumbria is always welcome this can be reported directly to Cumbria Police or Crimestoppers."

A new drug called "flysky" has been spreading throughout the Pittsburgh region, and officials are warning that it can be deadly. In Fayette County over the last few days, there have been at least two overdose deaths from the drug. The drug, as it is sometimes labeled on bags sold on the street, is heroin laced with medetomidine, a tranquilizer used in veterinary medicine. Fayette County District Attorney Michael Aubele says that users need to be aware that this drug can be lethal. "My understanding is that medetomidine is a drug that is not affected by Narcan. So if you overdose on medetomidine, Narcan is not going to save you," Aubele said. Aubele says that anyone who may have a bag of flysky can turn it into authorities at several places in the county, including local police stations and the Crime Stoppers office, with no questions asked. He also says that not only are local and state police working to get these drugs off the streets, but that his office will prosecute those who are responsible for delivering these drugs into their community. "We want people to be safe. We want everybody to be alive and to be healthy. You just don't know what you are getting anymore on the street," Aubele added. Cumbria Police supporting national 'Ninja Sword' amnesty ahead of ban
Cumbria Police is supporting a national 'Ninja Sword' amnesty, ahead of a ban on owning such weapons coming into effect. From August 1, it will be illegal to possess, sell, make or import the weapon. Those who currently possess a Ninja sword will not be permitted to keep it once the order comes into effect, unless a specific legal defence applies. Ninja Swords are a sword which has length of at least 14 inches, but no more than 24 inches in length. The sword must have the following: • A primary straight cutting edge • A secondary straight cutting edge • A blunt spine • And either a tanto style point or a reversed tanto style point A spokesperson for Cumbria Police said: 'Ahead of the ban coming into place, a surrender scheme is taking place from today until July 31 to allow people to hand them in. 'Please follow guidance on the Home Office website and have the relevant paperwork completed before handing in the swords before visiting a police station.' Human skull found near iconic river
Partial remains of a human skull have been found in bushland off the Murray River near Mildura on the NSW/Victorian border. A man taking an evening walk along the Murray riverbank came across the partially buried remains of a skull near the entrance to Apex Riverbeach Holiday Parks about 5.30pm on Monday. Police were called to the riverbank where they established a crime scene and launched an investigation. Barrier Police District Inspector Wayne Demery from NSW Police told the ABC the early indications were the remains were not historic ones. 'The remains will be sent to Newcastle for a special forensic investigation,' he said. 'We've got a crime scene guard in place, until our crime scene section is able to attend and do a full examination of the scene.' In a statement on Monday evening, NSW Police said they were awaiting the report from forensic specialists. Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
