EPS: Open to aligning with all parties to oust DMK government
He was responding to a question from reporters on the resistance among a section of the BJP to the chief minister candidate being from the AIADMK. 'The decisions are made in Delhi,' Palaniswami said.
Meanwhile, Palaniswami also said the party is happy to include those with similar objective of defeating the DMK, in response to a question on whether the AIADMK would extend an invitation to TVK to form an alliance. 'We are open to aligning with all parties that seek to oust the anti-people DMK regime. We would be happy to ally with anyone who shares this objective. They too must cooperate for the larger cause.'
Actor Vijay, who on Friday had said that his party will never form an alliance with the BJP and the DMK.
As part of the campaign, EPS will visit 33 Assembly constituencies, beginning from Mettupalayam in Coimbatore district on July 7 and concluding in Pattukkottai, Thanjavur district, on July 23.
'I always stand with the people. This campaign will galvanise support and trigger major political change in the coming elections,' he told reporters.
Hitting out at Chief Minister MK Stalin, Palanisswami said, 'I follow in the footsteps of MGR, who launched this movement (AIADMK) for the welfare of the people. This campaign is aimed at ending the DMK's destructive regime.' He urged all parties that seek to remove the DMK from power to join hands with the AIADMK.

TGMDC chairman slams BRS, BJP over comments against Revanth government
Telangana Mineral Development Corporation (TGMDC) Chairman Anil Kumar Eeravathri flayed the Opposition parties, accusing both the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of failing the people of Telangana, particularly the Backward Classes (BC). Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, Mr. Anil Kumar advised BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao not to compare himself with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, stating that KTR cannot match Mr. Reddy in any aspect. 'You need not worry about Mr. Revanth Reddy. I'm enough to debate with you on any issues. Let's meet at the Press Club and discuss everything,' he challenged KTR. The former MLA accused the BRS regime of being responsible for the financial distress of the State. 'Your family has bankrupted Telangana. In some Arab countries, people are stoned in stadiums for such betrayal, and such harsh punishment wouldn't be unjustified,' he said. Training his guns at the new BJP State president N. Ramchander Rao, he questioned the BJP's commitment to BCs. 'There is no social justice in your party. You are from the Open Category (OC), your former president Kishan Reddy is an OC, and your assembly floor leader Maheshwar Reddy is an OC. You talk about BC welfare, but where is the representation?' he questioned. Mr. Anil Kumar also slammed BRS MLC and Telangana Jagruthi president K. Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], July 6 (ANI): Telangana BJP President N Ramchander Rao on Sunday paid floral tributes to Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee on his 125th birth anniversary at the central hall of Samvidhan Sadan in Hyderabad. Rao praised Syama Prasad Mookerjee as the founder of the Jan Sangh and the architect of the 'one nation, one law' vision. He said the abrogation of Article 370 is a significant tribute to Mookerjee's nationalist ideals, which continue to inspire BJP workers and people across India. Speaking to ANI, N Ramchander Rao said, 'Syama Prasad Mookerjee is the founder of the Jan Sangh and laid the roadmap for 'one nation, one law.' Today, the entire country appreciates his thoughts and ideas. Therefore, the abrogation of Article 370 is a great tribute to him. Today, the workers of the BJP and the people of this country remember Syama Prasad Mookerjee for his nationalist views and ideas.' Syama Prasad Mookerjee was the founder of Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the ideological parent organisation of the BJP. Born on July 6, 1901, in Calcutta, was a multifaceted personality, patriot, educationist, parliamentarian, statesman, and humanitarian. He inherited a legacy of erudition and nationalism from his father, Sir Ashutosh Mookerjee, an esteemed Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University and Judge of the Calcutta High Court. In 1940, he became the acting President of the Hindu Mahasabha and declared complete independence for India as its political goal. Mookerjee resigned from the Bengal Cabinet in November 1942, protesting against the Governor's interference in administration and criticising provincial autonomy as ineffective. His humanitarian efforts during the Bengal famine of 1943, including relief initiatives, highlighted his commitment to serving society. Post-Independence, he joined the interim government under Jawaharlal Nehru as Minister for Industry and Supply, where he laid the foundation for India's industrial growth by establishing iconic institutions like the Chittaranjan Locomotive Factory, Sindri Fertiliser Corporation and Hindustan. However, ideological differences led to his resignation, after which he founded the All-India Bharatiya Jan Sangh (1951) to champion nationalist ideals. According to the BJP's official website, on the issue of the Delhi pact with Liaquat Ali Khan, Mookerjee resigned from the Cabinet on April 6, 1950. Later, on October 21, 1951, Mookerjee founded the Bharatiya Jana Sangh in Delhi and became its first president. Mookerjee went to visit Kashmir in 1953 and was arrested on May 11. He died under detention on June 23, 1953. (ANI)
