Social media reacts to Clemson QB commit Tait Reynolds ranking Top 5 at Elite 11
Tait Reynolds made the most of his opportunity on the national stage this week, turning in a strong showing at the Elite 11 Finals in Los Angeles.
The four-star Clemson quarterback commit competed against 20 of the nation's top signal-callers in a variety of skill drills and a 7-on-7 competition. By week's end, Reynolds was listed among the top performers at the prestigious event and earned high praise from Rivals recruiting analyst Adam Gorney, who ranked him No. 5 overall among all competitors.
'Reynolds was skilled, reliable and consistent,' Gorney wrote. 'The Clemson commit has a little elongated motion (probably from his baseball background) but he's a big, steady presence in the pocket who was exceptional on deep throws and the seam routes during the Pro Day.'
Reynolds held his own in the 7-on-7 portion as well, completing 14 of 19 passes for two touchdowns. Event organizers also named him one of the top overall performers for the week.
A rising senior at Queen Creek High School in Arizona, Reynolds is one of two quarterbacks committed to Clemson's 2026 class. Last season, he threw for 2,238 yards and 22 touchdowns with just five interceptions, while rushing for 1,437 yards and 19 more scores—averaging over 10 yards per carry.
Reynolds is ranked inside the Top 250 nationally by both Rivals and On3 and considered one of the top 20 quarterbacks in his class. With his size, athleticism, and growing confidence, he continues to raise his national stock heading into his senior year.

I go into Elite 11 blind on purpose, so I don't know the star ratings for these guys. There's a prospect here, Tait Reynolds. I think he's going to Clemson.Manchild. Most high school prospects look like kids, because they are. He looks like he could play Ohio State tomorrow.

Has Texas Tech beaten out Texas Longhorns for five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo?
For a few weeks, the Texas Longhorns looked to be in the driver's seat to land five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo. The Mansfield, TX blue chipper recently took an official visit to the 40 Acres, after cancelling an official visit to Oklahoma. But it seems like a big NIL offer has come in from Texas Tech, and it may win over the lineman. Ojo spoke with Rivals analyst Sam Spiegelman at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge last week and said the race was close between Texas and Ohio State. Ojo also lists Florida and Michigan in his final four. Ojo, who struggled so badly at the Rivals' event that he issued a public statement, is the nation's No. 5 overall prospect, No. 1 offensive tackle and No. 2 player in Texas. Spiegelman and Rivals analyst Justin Wells both put in an official prediction that Texas was the choice. But with less than 24 hours until Ojo's commitment announcement, things have changed. Spiegelman and Rivals/On3 VP Steve Wiltfong have both projected Texas Tech getting the commitment out of Ojo. The assumption is billionaire Texas Tech alum Cody Campbell has made the 6-foot-6, 275-pound recruit a huge NIL offer. Campbell founded the Red Raiders NIL collective called The Matador Club. This is the same way Tech was able to pay softball pitcher NiJaree Canady $1 million dollars to transfer to Lubbock from Stanford. When an 11th hour official prediction from a well-known recruiting analyst come in, they are correct 99% of the time. It's usually because the recruit told the analyst and gave them quotes so they can get a story up as soon as the commitment occurs. We'll see at 1 p.m. CT on the 4th of July, when Ojo is schedule to commit. Follow us on X (formerly Twitter) at @LonghornsWire.

Gabriel Sularski, top senior in Illinois for basketball, leaves Lemont for Utah power. ‘Can't wait to get started.'
After just one season at Lemont, star guard Gabriel Sularski is leaving the state for his senior year. Sularski, who had been ranked as the top player in Illinois for the 2026 class by Rivals, is transferring to Layton Christian Academy in Utah. He confirmed the move in an interview with Rivals. 'I'm really excited to join Layton Christian,' Sularski told the website. 'I think it's a great place for me to grow both as a player and a person. The competitive schedule, the coaching staff and the environment will push me to reach the next level. 'I can't wait to get started and represent the program.' Sularski played with Lemont over the weekend at the Romeoville Shootout, but Lemont coach Rick Runaas said he was informed Thursday of his standout player's intention to transfer again. 'We wish him luck and we thank him for the year he gave us,' Runaas said. Sularski started his high school career at Benet before transferring to Lemont following his sophomore season. The Redwings then went on to win the Class 4A state title. Layton Christian, meanwhile, has won seven state championships in basketball, including the 2023-24 title in 4A. As a junior last winter, Sularski averaged 17.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists for Lemont. He was selected all-state and second team all-area and was named the South Suburban Blue's player of the year. Sularski also has international experience, having played for Poland's U16 national team. All four of his grandparents were born in Poland. Before his sophomore season even began, Sularski received scholarship offers from several major colleges, including Illinois and Michigan State. More recently, he picked up offers this summer from Toledo and Arkansas State. Lemont ended up with a 26-8 record last season, losing 53-41 to eventual Class 3A state runner-up Brother Rice in a sectional final on the Crusaders' home court. It was already going to be a different-looking Lemont team next season after the graduation of four key players. Junior guard Zane Schneider, a three-sport standout, will likely be looked at to lead the way now. 'We're going to miss Gabe, but Lemont is still going to have a basketball team next season,' Runaas said. 'We're looking forward to another good year.'

CBS Sports college football analyst Chip Patterson makes a win-loss prediction for Clemson
CBS Sports' Chip Patterson has weighed in on how he thinks Clemson's upcoming season will shake out — and he sees another playoff run in the cards. Patterson predicts the Tigers will finish the regular season at 10-2 and secure a spot in the expanded 12-team College Football Playoff for the second year in a row. He sees Clemson handling its early slate, including a big season-opening win over LSU at home. 'I feel like I'm giving a worst-case scenario. I really do,' Patterson said. 'I've got the Tigers at 10-2. I think home field is going to be huge. They'll take care of LSU, roll through a manageable stretch, then get SMU at home.' He projects Clemson to start 9-0 with wins over LSU, Troy, Georgia Tech, Syracuse, North Carolina, Boston College, SMU, Duke and Florida State. Patterson expects the Tigers to stumble late, taking losses at Louisville on November 14 and at South Carolina to close the regular season on November 29 — the same teams that gave the Tigers trouble in Death Valley last year. 'So, I'm going to hand them the loss [at Louisville],' Patterson said. 'I think Jeff Brohm and Louisville might just have Clemson's number. We saw the Cards get one of the more stunning road wins last year. And then I've got South Carolina pulling off the finale too. But that's still 7-1 in conference.' Despite the projected hiccups, Patterson still sees Clemson claiming the ACC crown and heading back to the playoff with a chance to run the table when it matters. 'If they can stay healthy, they'll be one of the 12 teams that has the goods to win it all,' he said. 'So, back to the CFP — I say yes, just not with a spotless record.' According to Patterson's projection, Clemson opens with LSU on August 30, then faces Troy on September 6, Georgia Tech on September 13, and Syracuse on September 20 before a break on September 27. The Tigers then hit the road to face North Carolina on October 4 and Boston College on October 11, return home for SMU on October 18, take another open date on October 25, then host Duke on November 1 and Florida State on November 8. They wrap up with the Friday game at Louisville on November 14, Furman at home on November 22, and the season finale at South Carolina on November 29.
