Injured Rishabh pant will miss india's fifth test vs. england
India's Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the final test against England with a foot fracture. India coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed Pant's injury for the first time after the visitors salvaged a draw in the fourth test at Old Trafford on Sunday. Pant retired hurt on day one when taken off the field on a cart with his foot badly swollen, but he returned limping on day 2 to reach a half century. 'It's been declared that he's out of the series, and one thing I want to say is that the character and the foundation of this team will be built on something Rishabh did for the team and for the country as well,' Gambhir said. 'Any amount of praise is not enough for him, especially batting with a broken foot. I think the generations to come forward will talk about it, and the generations coming forward should talk about it.' Pant was injured when attempting a reverse sweep off Chris Woakes, and the ball deflected onto his right ankle and foot. India did not confirm at the time the extent of the injury, but he was replaced as wicket-keeper by Dhruv Jurel for the remainder of the match. He wasn't required to bat in India's second innings, with the visitors earning a draw in Manchester after Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Washington Sundar (101 not out) all reached centuries on the final day. England leads the series 2-1 going into the final test at the Oval next week.

Stokes Hits a Century in 4th Test as England Makes a Stunning Start on 4th Day Against India
Ben Stokes scored his 14th test century as England ran up a 311-run lead in the fourth test against India on Saturday, with India then losing two wickets in the first over to go to lunch at 1-2. The England captain had a brilliant all-around performance, with his 141 coming after he'd taken five wickets in India's first innings at Old Trafford. The hosts were all out for 669 in their first innings in Manchester, followed by Chris Woakes' double strike and a hat-trick chance. Yashasvi Jaiswal went for a duck after just four balls of India's second innings, caught by Joe Root. And it was even worse for Sai Sudharsan, going for a golden duck when caught by Harry Brook. It was an awful start for India, which looks likely to lose the test and the five-match series, which it trails 2-1 after a thrilling start to the day. The 34-year-old Stokes enthralled the crowd with his spectacular batting – scoring his first test century in two years including three sixes. After reaching his century, he took off his helmet, looked up to the sky, and then raised his bat to acknowledge all ends of the crowd. With it, he became the fourth different England player to get five wickets and a century in a test innings. Having resumed on 544-7, England was determined to pile the pressure on India, and Stokes was at the heart of it – supported by Liam Dawson (26) and Brydon Carse (47). Stokes was eventually caught by Sudharsan off Ravindra Jadeja, who finished the innings with four wickets. But a troubled morning got even worse for India after a desperate start to its second innings, leaving it 310 behind.

UAE to host Asia Cup cricket
NEW DELHI: The United Arab Emirates will host this year's T20 Asia Cup tournament in September, organizers said Saturday, ending the uncertainty over its fate amid spiralling tensions between India and Pakistan. The neighbors have not met on either side's soil in a bilateral series since 2012, and only play each other in international tournaments on neutral grounds as part of a compromise deal. But already-frosty relations took a turn for the worse this year when the two nuclear rivals fought an intense four-day conflict, their worst standoff in decades. More than 70 people were killed in missile, drone and artillery fire on both sides. The conflict was triggered by an April 22 attack on civilians in Indian-administered Kashmir that New Delhi accused Pakistan of backing — a charge Islamabad denies. The Asia Cup is played under the aegis of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), which is currently headed by Pakistan cricket chief Mohsin Naqvi. 'I am delighted to confirm the dates for the ACC Men's Asia Cup 2025 in UAE,' said Naqvi on X. I am delighted to confirm the dates for the ACC Men's Asia Cup 2025 in UAE. The prestigious tournament will take place from September 9th to 28th. We look forward to a spectacular display of cricket! Detailed Schedule will be out soon. #Cricketwins — Mohsin Naqvi (@MohsinnaqviC42) July 26, 2025 'The prestigious tournament will take place from September 9th to 28th.' The five full members of the ACC — Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka — earned automatic qualification to the tournament. They are to be joined by Hong Kong, Oman and the United Arab Emirates — the teams that secured their spots by finishing in the top three of the ACC men's Premier Cup. The previous edition of the event was in a 50-over format, but this year's tournament was scheduled as a shorter-format event in preparation for next year's T20 World Cup in India. India and Pakistan have fought three full-fledged wars since being carved out of the subcontinent's partition in 1947 and that rivalry is often reflected on the cricket field.
