Tyrese Haliburton's Achilles injury didn't just end Game 7—it tore through the heart of a rising Pacers dynasty. Kevin Pritchard confirmed what fans feared: Haliburton won't play in 2025–26.
His early-game spark faded into silence, and Indiana's dreams unraveled quickly. Now, without their All-Star leader or Myles Turner, the Pacers stare down a season of rebuilding and recovery.
Kevin Pritchard delivers the toughest news yet on Tyrese Haliburton
The Pacers faced a tough end to their season with a loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder, and it was a game that altered careers. Haliburton scored nine points in the first seven minutes of Game 7, but then the Achilles rupture happened, leading to a downfall that Indiana never bounced back from, being outscored 56–43 in the second half.
Kevin Pritchard was clear — 'He will not play next year… We would not jeopardize that now.
Don't get any hopes up that he will play'.
As the emotional and strategic heart of the franchise, Haliburton is set for a long recovery that will last more than 12 months. His surgery was performed on June 23 at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, and Pritchard is optimistic about the outcome — 'I have no doubt that he will be back better than ever'.

But as the loyal fans in Indiana are aware, Achilles injuries can be brutal—Boston's Jayson Tatum and Milwaukee's Damian Lillard are still out due to similar tears from earlier in these playoffs.
Behind those numbers is a more profound tale. Haliburton led one of the most remarkable turnarounds in the NBA, guiding the Pacers from a 47–35 regular-season record to their first Finals appearance since 2000. In the playoffs, he averaged 17.3 points and 8.6 assists, showcasing clutch performances—including a buzzer-beater in Game 1 of the Finals—before an injury halted his impressive run.
Without Haliburton and following Myles Turner's exit in free agency, Indiana is entering a critical offseason. The standard recovery for an Achilles injury is 8 to 12 months, and the Pacers are not in a hurry. Still, the larger timeline indicates a potential return only late in the 2026–27 season. Haliburton's absence opens up a gap that the Knicks, Cavaliers, and Sixers might capitalize on in 2025–26.

Indiana's rise, once driven by hope, now hits a snag at the crossroads of injury. Tyrese Haliburton's 2025–26 season has officially come to a close, taking with it the Pacers' momentum, unity, and dreams of a championship. However, as Pritchard points out, this isn't the end—it's just a break. Haliburton's fierce competitive nature remains intact despite the setback, making him the cornerstone of Indiana's comeback.

A Kansas City radio host made surprising comments about the quarterback's body after shirtless photos of Patrick Mahomes surfaced online. The comments quickly spread on social media and sparked debate. While fans mostly laughed it off, someone very close to Patrick Mahomes didn't take it lightly. The person who trains him every day stepped in to defend the star quarterback, and what he said caught everyone's attention. What bdid Patrick Mahomes's trainer Bobby Stroupe responds on X after viral body comments On Monday, July 8, 2025, Kansas City-based radio host Kevin Keitzman commented on Patrick Mahomes's body after seeing his shirtless photos online. During his segment, he said Patrick Mahomes looked 'fat' and focused on a small love handle seen in the photo. The segment from his radio show went viral immediately, with many saying the comments were ridiculous. Patrick Mahomes is an athlete 28 years old, and he's led the Kansas City Chiefs to three Super Bowl titles, so he can be considered one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL. Most fans shrugged off the statement, saying that Patrick Mahomes proves himself when he plays the game not when people see him. But Patrick Mahomes's personal trainer, Bobby Stroupe, didn't stay silent. He posted on X (formerly Twitter), writing: 'Send me your location. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Is it legal? Winning Start For Nagpur's Divya In FIDE Women's Chess World Cup

Nagpur: Reigning world junior champion and Nagpur's star chess master, Divya Deshmukh, started her campaign in the FIDE Women's World Cup on a thumping note in Batumi, Georgia, on Wednesday. As the 15th seed, Divya opened her campaign from the second round, where the world's top 21 women players joined the 43 winners from the first round. In the knock-out format of the World Cup, seven rounds consisting of two-game matches in the classical format will be played, followed by a rapid tie-break round. In the second round, the 2463 Elo IM Divya was paired up against WFM Kesaria Mgeladze of Georgia. The 19-year-old made the most of her opening advantage with the white pieces and took just 45 moves to prevail over Mgeladze. While Divya started with her King's Pawn opening, she chose the Richter-Rauzer variation on Mgeladze's Sicilian defense. In the 35th move, Divya became a piece up, and within the next 10 moves, she forced her lower-ranked opponent to resign, utilising the advantage of her extra bishop. On Thursday, Divya will play with the black pieces against Mgeladze, where she will require just a draw to advance to the round of 32. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo Much like Divya, India's most experienced Grandmaster Koneru Humpy, young Vantika Agrawal, R Vaishali, and D Harika registered victories in contrasting fashion to inch closer to the next round. The other Indian players participating in the World Cup, including Padmini Rout and K Priyanka, drew their respective games against Russian GM Alexandra Kosteniuk and Klaudia Kulon from Poland.
