CM wants a study on policy for Class IX and XII education system
Observing that the students in Class X are passing out in large numbers while the same number of students are unable to pass out in the Intermediate, the Chief Minister ordered the officials to identify the challenges to achieve a good pass percentage of inter students and resolve them through some initiatives.
At a review meeting on Wednesday, Mr. Reddy said proper guidance should be given to students during the inter stage since it is crucial for the students to make their career. The Chief Minister instructed the officials to conduct a study and submit a comprehensive report on running the schools up to Class XII and separate intermediate. He wanted officials to take suggestions from the Education Commission, NGOs working in the education sector and civil society.
Reviewing the designs and models of the Young India Residential School buildings, the CM suggested that a huge national flag be installed in the premises of every school and also instructed the officials to submit a weekly report to him on the progress of the construction of the schools.
The Young India Residential Schools will be constructed exclusively for boys and girls in every Assembly constituency. Since the land acquisition for each school has already been completed, the CM directed that focus should be on the identification and acquisition process for the second school.
CM Revanth Reddy also reviewed the construction model of Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Mahila Vishwa Vidyalayam (Women University) and suggested several changes. The CM ordered that the tender process be completed at the earliest.
The CM held a review of the Education department at the ICCC today. Chief Minister's Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, State Government Advisor K. Kesava Rao, Special Secretary to the Chief Minister Ajith Reddy, Education Secretary Yogita Rana, Higher Education Board Chairman Balakishta Reddy, Technical Education Commissioner Sridevasena, Education Special Secretary Haritha, JNTU Registrar Venkateswara Rao among others participated in the review.

Hyderabad: A special train carrying over 1,200 Congress leaders and workers, including 200 Mahila Congress members, departed from Cherlapally railway station at 10 am on Monday, heading to Delhi with a single-point agenda — to demand 42% reservation for Backward Classes. Commission report on Kaleshwaram will be tabled in the Assembly to decide future course of action: CM
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced that the report submitted by Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose Commission, which inquired into the alleged irregularities and illegalities in Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, will be placed in the Assembly for a thorough discussion. The Chief Minister said the session of the legislature will be convened soon so as to elicit the views of all political parties on the future course of action that should be taken into the findings of the report. 'We will take views of all political parties. Leader of the Opposition K. Chandrashekhar Rao and his party can give their views on the report,' he said. Mr. Revanth Reddy was speaking on Monday (August 04) after the meeting of the State Cabinet which approved the Ghose Commission report. He lamented that the previous government headed by Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao shifted the location of the Pranahita Chevella project in the name of redesign and commissioned the construction of Medigadda Barrage against the recommendations of the expert committee. Two other barrages Annaram and Sundilla, forming part of the project, too developed cracks, he said adding the lopsided decisions of the previous government had resulted in damages to the project which was billed as lifeline for Telangana. He said the Congress government had appointed the judicial commission in line with the promise made in the election manifesto and the Commission conducted thorough examination of over 110 people, including Mr. Chandrashekhar Rao, then Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao and Finance Minister Eatala Rajender, before finalising its report. 'There are no politics in this. The Commission is an independent judicial body, not a government-manned one,' he said replying to queries on charges made by BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavita. He said Ms. Kavita ought to have represented her case to the Commission if she had any issues rather than criticising the government now. Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka criticised the former Chief Minister and BRS president for misleading the Assembly with his claims on Kaleshwaram project. While suppressing the report of the expert committee against construction of the barrages, the previous government claimed that the project had approvals from the Cabinet and fulfilled all the requirements. 'It is the sole decision of the then Chief Minister to change the project site with claims that there is no availability of water at Tummidihatti. This was at a time when the then Union Jal Shakti Minister Uma Bharti approved hydrological clearance to Pranahita Chevella project on the ground that 205 tmcft water was available at Tummidihatti,' he said.
