Joe Burrow opens up about burglary, canceled Batmobile purchase

Joe Burrow found out his house had been burglarized shortly after he led the Cincinnati Bengals to a key win over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14 of the 2024 NFL season. The quarterback shared exactly how he reacted to the news, which came on the eve of his 28th birthday. "Of (expletive) course this happened to me right now," Burrow said in the sixth episode of Netflix's "Quarterback" series. "When you're on cloud nine, something's gonna bring you right back down." Burrow wasn't so much concerned with what the burglars stole at the time of the break-in. He told Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo in footage included in the Netflix series that they had mostly taken his jewelry and that it was insured. "They could have stolen way worse things than that," Burrow said. The Bengals quarterback was more bothered by the invasion of privacy he felt as a result of the burglary. "I just get very uncomfortable," Burrow said during the series' sixth episode. "My life is very public. That comes with the job, but there's certain parts of your life that are yours. Your house is one of those. When that gets violated, people find out where you live, all these different things." Those "different things" included information about the location of Burrow's house, an increased media presence surrounding his house following the break-in and his connection to social media personality Olivia Ponton – who was at Burrow's house the night of the burglary. 'QUARTERBACK' SERIES: Why Kirk Cousins felt 'misled' by Michael Penix Jr. pick Burrow acknowledged in his discussion with Anarumo that he was considering whether he would need to move because of the burglary. Burrow also elected not to go through with his purchase of a replica Batmobile in the wake of the break-in, a prospect about which he previously expressed excitement on the in-season edition of HBO's "Hard Knocks." "I didn't end up getting the Batmobile because I just had other things I wanted to deal with at that point," Burrow said on "Quarterback." Three men associated with the burglary at Burrow's house – 22-year-old Jordan Francisco Quiroga Sanchez, 23-year-old Bastian Alejandro Orellana Morales and 38-year-old Sergio Andres Ortega Cabello were indicted in Hamilton County in February on charges of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and burglary. The trio were also indicted on federal charges in connection with the burglary of Burrow's home. Burrow did not acknowledge those indictments on "Quarterback," but he did explain the late-season ordeal left him feeling "very vulnerable." "Not everybody's failures at their job are in front of the whole world," Burrow said. "It's a very vulnerable position to be in. I put myself in that position because I love it. I don't like the other part of it."

Jonathan Bailey Talks About How Bridgerton Taught Him Nothing About Romance

Jonathan Bailey recently discussed how being on Bridgerton influenced his perspective on love and dating. While promoting his latest film, Jurassic World Rebirth, the actor reflected on whether his time on the Netflix series had an impact on real-life relationships. Jonathan Bailey offered his perspective on romance and dating during a recent interview. Known for his portrayal of Anthony Bridgerton on the hit Netflix series, the actor has clarified that it hasn't influenced how he approaches relationships in real life. Appearing on Chicken Shop Date to promote his latest film Jurassic World Rebirth, Bailey was asked by host Amelia Dimoldenberg if starring in Bridgerton had made him more skilled in romance. His response was direct, 'No!' he said with a laugh. The actor also added, 'It was a fantasy, isn't it? Romance is grounded and real.' During the same segment, Bailey lightheartedly imagined what Dimoldenberg's role would be if she were cast in the Bridgerton world. He teased, 'I can imagine you in Bridgerton. [Your character would be] really uptight. She'd be a sort of a potential spinster.' Bailey has spoken previously about how the romance genre shaped his outlook. In a past interview with Entertainment Weekly, he explained how his views on romance stories have evolved, especially after being part of a show like Bridgerton. He said, 'I've grown up with the idea of romance as a genre. It's never been a genre that's been given the respect and the international platform that Bridgerton has.' Reflecting on his earlier impressions of romance, Bailey added, 'My understanding of romance novels was that it was on the beach with a glass of rosé. But it makes sense. Sexuality, intimacy, and identity is everything.' Jonathan Bailey is currently starring on the big screen in Jurassic World Rebirth. Later this year, he'll appear as Fiyero in Wicked: For Good, set for release in the fall. Originally reported by Disheeta Maheshwari on ComingSoon. Kirk Cousins on Falcons drafting Penix: 'I had no reason to leave Minnesota'

In an episode of Netflix's 'Quarterback' series, Cousins discussed his frustration with the Falcons drafting Michael Penix Jr. Season 2 of Netflix's "Quarterback" series was released on Tuesday, and it's definitely worth a watch if you're an Atlanta Falcons fan. The show follows three quarterbacks -- Kirk Cousins, Jared Goff and Joe Burrow -- throughout the ups and downs of the 2024 NFL season. While Goff and Burrow both had great seasons for their respective teams, Cousins had a year that he'd probably like to forget. After spending six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Cousins signed a four-year, $180 million contract with the Falcons in free agency. One month later, the veteran quarterback was shocked to see Atlanta draft Michael Penix Jr. with the eighth overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. Apparently, Cousins had no idea the team planned to select a quarterback. The show provided some insight into how it all went down, with the veteran QB giving his honest reaction to the news. "It felt like I had been a little bit misled or certainly if I had had the information around free agency, it would have affected my decision," said Cousins. "I had no reason to leave Minnesota, as much as we loved it there, if both teams were drafting a quarterback high." While this is certainly a fair point and likely would have altered Cousins' decision in free agency, nobody made him leave Minnesota. The Vikings attempted to re-sign Cousins but reportedly weren't willing to offer him a fourth year. Plus, the fact that Minnesota had planned to draft a quarterback made Cousins feel it was time to move on. However, the Falcons fell in love with Penix during the pre-draft process, and when he was available at pick No. 8, they didn't hesitate to pull the trigger. Cousins' reaction was understandable, and many veteran quarterbacks would have felt the same way. With that said, Atlanta had every right to do what was best for the team. Even if the move alienated Cousins, the team guaranteed him $100 million. Most players never sniff that kind of money in their NFL careers. Plus, Cousins made that much for just 14 games of work last season. This is why the Falcons aren't in a rush to do Cousins any favors, such as outright releasing him just so he can play elsewhere in 2025. The Falcons were heavily criticized at the time for drafting Penix, but it proved to be the right move as Cousins' play was wildly inconsistent. After leading the team to a 6-3 start, Cousins had the worst four-game stretch of his career, passing for one touchdown and eight interceptions while losing all four games. Despite leading the team to a win over the lowly Las Vegas Raiders in Week 15, the Falcons benched Cousins and went to Penix for the final three games. The former Washington standout showed a ton of promise and will go enter the season as the undisputed starter at quarterback. Cousins' contract has made him tough to trade, and the lack of a market for quarterbacks has limited his potential options. For now, the Falcons seem content keeping Cousins on the roster to back up Penix. - Make sure to check out our latest Falcons 53-man roster projection for the 2025 NFL season.
