How to Watch the 2025 Tour de France Live on a Free Channel

Gizmodo2 days ago
Finding a free channel that streams the 2025 Tour de France can feel impossible. All you come across are premium channels and platforms charging a fortune. Fortunately, there's a simple way to watch the Tour de France online for free.
We'll show you a trick that lets you access it from anywhere. We'll also cover a few premium options and explain why they're not ideal. Let's dive in—the cycling spectacle starts soon. Time to get ready.
July 5th is a significant day for cycling lovers.
Luckily, the excitement doesn't dwindle until the race is over on July 27th. You don't have to spend a fortune to witness fierce cycling rivalries. The free channel ITVX broadcasts the Tour de France live online.
ITVX is a UK on-demand streaming service that allows you to access all its subchannels and watch them live through your browser. According to ITVX, ITV4 will live-stream the Tour de France for free.
Since ITVX is from the UK, you'll enjoy English commentary and high-resolution footage. If you're from the United Kingdom, go to ITV, create a free account, and tune on to ITV4 to initiate the stream.
Watch Tour de France With NordVPN
Users abroad can watch ITVX only with the trick we'll explain. ITVX operates exclusively in the UK, rendering visitors overseas 'ineligible'. However, the VPN trick appears to work fine for non-Brits.
Cycling fans online have noticed that VPNs unblock free channels for watching the Tour de France. While a few more usually broadcast it, this time, the only free, English-speaking option is ITVX (ITV4).
NordVPN, as the most popular VPN, is often mentioned.
It includes over 440 UK VPN servers and unlimited bandwidth for long-lasting live streams. Moreover, NordVPN is famous for its 10 Gbps servers and top speeds, preventing buffering that regularly ruins the party.
The trick is subscribing to NordVPN and installing its app on the device. From here, users need to connect to a server in the UK, which will replace their original IP address with the one from this country.
When ITVX detects a UK IP address, it 'thinks' the visitor is genuinely there. As a result, ITVX works, and the user can watch the Tour de France live for free.
NordVPN is a premium VPN, but you can be refunded after watching the Tour de France live on a free channel. A 30-day money-back guarantee exists so that you can be reimbursed and not lose a single penny. Check out our guide to NordVPN's free trial if you'd like to know how to get started.
Paid channels typically don't offer much value. You get what you pay for, access to your favourite sports live streams. In 2025, these channels have become a luxury with their over-the-top subscription prices.
Still, if you don't want to use a VPN for any reason, it's good to know you can enjoy the event using premium, tried-and-tested channels and services.
Tip: If you're currently abroad and already paying for a channel that broadcasts the Tour de France, don't worry. Subscribing to a VPN like NordVPN will let you access live coverage from outside your country. All you need to do is connect to a VPN server in your home country.
Change your IP address with NordVPN
The United States has the most extensive roster of these services:
Unless you choose Peacock TV, streaming the Tour de France for free online is impossible. It's not like Peacock is free, but it's far less expensive than the rest. The most costly is FuboTV, closely followed by YouTube TV.
Neither offers an extended free trial period, so you'll have to pay the price to watch the entire race. Furthermore, don't expect a money-back guarantee that would get you reimbursed after the fact.
Remember that all four platforms are region-locked to the USA. Thus, if you're 'accidentally' outside the USA, you'll need a VPN to regain access, which is very inconvenient.
What about Canadians?
Our Canadian friends can use FloBikes, which offers extensive coverage of major cycling events. It's often used to watch the Giro d'Italia live. However, it's pretty costly at CAD$29.99 monthly or $CAD150 annually.
FloBikes limits access only to Canadians, so those abroad, despite their Canadian roots, still won't be able to use it. Worse yet, if you're a foreigner, you'll need a Canadian credit card to subscribe, so you're also ineligible.
We'll address New Zealand as another English-speaking region.
Fans from this country can enjoy the race on Sky Sport. Sky Sport is known for slightly higher prices, so the monthly price, with a recent price increase, is about $54.99 if you want to stream sports.
More absurdly, there's a one-day pass, which costs $29.99. If you want to save the most, the annual plan at $549.99 seems sensible, but alas, a significant upfront investment. Knowing this, it's up to you to decide.
Will you limit yourself to a single streaming service or use a VPN, pay less, and watch the Tour de France on a free channel?
Knowing how popular this cycling race is, it's no wonder it's broadcast on many worldwide channels. As explained, just a few provide English, Full HD or Ultra HD coverages of the Tour de France.
If you're wandering our beautiful earth and are often on the go, here are a few free channels from different countries that you can tune in to watch the event:
The only English-speaking option is SBS, which you can watch in Australia. People outside Australia can access SBS with a VPN. Other channels chiefly broadcast in their respective languages.
Watching the Tour de France live for free is easy with all these options.
However, a free channel such as ITVX or SBS is the most optimal way. If you're in the UK or Australia, you're all set and don't need a VPN. Conversely, fans from overseas can rely on NordVPN to fix the issue.
A premium VPN by default, it's fantastic for high-octane cycling live-streams with no bandwidth or speed restrictions. It's risk-free, and you can claim a refund in 30 days to nullify your initial payment.

This Fourth Of July Weekend, Sir Lewis Hamilton's Mission 44 Continues To Drive Change At F1

(Photo by Bryn Lennon - Formula 1/Formula 1 via Getty Images) This Fourth of July weekend, as Americans celebrate Independence Day, across the pond at the F1 British Grand Prix, Sir Lewis Hamilton's foundation, Mission 44, is taking the time to celebrate change. More specifically, lives changed. With the growing momentum of F1 internationally, an estimated 480,000 international and local motorsport fans will attend the four-day Grand Prix at Silverstone, 70 miles outside of London. Yet there's a different kind of momentum building off the track. At the heart of this shift is Sir Lewis Hamilton, the legendary seven-time F1 World Champion, whose Mission 44 foundation is fueling access, equity and opportunity for underrepresented youth across the globe through giving back. And it may just be this work off the track that redefines his legacy and what it means to be a global icon. (Photo by) A Vision For Change Hamilton's journey from being born and raised in Stevenage, a quiet English town north of London, to the global stage of Formula 1 is a testament to resilience, talent and opportunity. But for many young people, breaking social and economic barriers are insurmountable, even when the talent is there. That is where this story begins. Founded in 2021, Mission44 was born out of a moment of social reckoning and recognition that talent is universal, but opportunity is not. Black Lives Matter had catalyzed conversations worldwide, and instead of leveraging protests and politics, Hamilton chose purpose. 'Beyond my achievements on track, the most important thing for me is to know I played my part in building a fairer, more equitable world,' Hamilton stated in their latest annual report. And his commitment wasn't symbolic—it was structural. Seeding the charity with £20 million of his own money, Hamilton began constructing a blueprint for systemic change, tackling barriers in education, employment and social mobility. The charity's mission is to support and champion young people from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds, ensuring they have the tools and resources to succeed—from funding scholarships to creating mentorship programs that address the systemic inequities that hold so many back. Four years later, over 350,000 young people have been touched globally, with over 40 organizations receiving support or grants. And this is well beyond the U.K. Mission44's global footprint now includes activations in Brazil, across the United States, and throughout Italy, targeting three vital sectors: inclusive education, access to STEM and motorsport careers and youth empowerment. (Photo by) Silverstone as a Platform for Purpose Behind the roar of engines, smell of burning rubber, and electric (albeit somewhat wet) atmosphere of the 2025 British Grand Prix, Mission44 was working behind the scenes, through a series of events and activations designed and set up to engage fans, raise awareness and drive change off the track. Each of Us Has A Role To Play Despite the current political atmosphere, the business case for inclusion remains strong. Studies consistently show that diverse teams outperform their homogeneous counterparts, driving innovation and improving financial performance. Pew Research found that 86% of workers have a neutral-to-favorable opinion about increasing diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace. Companies that abandon these efforts risk alienating employees, customers and stakeholders who value representation and fairness. Which is why foundations like Mission44, and leaders like Sir Lewis Hamilton, are more important than ever. Those to whom much is given have an opportunity to continue to push and drive change toward a world in which the power of giving back can be transformative, on both large and small levels. So, during a weekend in which many Americans celebrate independence and freedom, let's also take time celebrate the individuals and organizations working to ensure those ideals of freedom and opportunity are accessible to all. We all have a part to play—and with leaders like Sir Lewis Hamilton at the helm, the race for equity is just as important as the race for the checkered flag.

Doncic Trade Has 'Shocked' Donnie Trashing Mavs GM Nico for No 'Decent Funeral'

Doncic Trade Has 'Shocked' Donnie Trashing Mavs GM Nico for No 'Decent Funeral' originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Donnie Nelson was the architect of the best Dallas Mavericks rosters in franchise history during his reign as general manager and director of basketball operations from 1998-2021. His resume is bookended by bringing two of the franchise's best players to Dallas: Dirk Nowitzki and Luka Doncic. Advertisement Nelson was with Dallas for the entirety of Nowitzki's career, but his time came to an end early into Doncic's, mutually parting ways with the Mavericks before Nico Harrison was hired as his replacement. Harrison struck the sports world and Mavs fanbase ablaze a couple years into his job when he traded the new franchise icon in Doncic. Even worse than the ridiculousness of the trade and its return was Harrison and the Mavericks' handling of the situation, often referencing Doncic in a demeaning tone and making countless questionable media and press decisions amid the scrutiny. Like many fans, Nelson was not pleased. Not just with The Trade to begin with, but with the manner in which Harrison and the team tried to put out the fire in the aftermath. Nelson didn't hold back his thoughts when discussing the situation with Slovenian news outlet Ekipa 24. He has recently been hired as a special advisor to the Slovenian national team, reuniting with Slovenia's finest Doncic in pursuit of Olympic qualification in 2028. Advertisement The former Mavericks exec couldn't help but compare Doncic's career with that of Nowitzki's, ripping the Mavs for their disrespect to a franchise great. 'We were with Dirk Nowitzki for 21 years, and the last three years were out of pure respect," Nelly said about Nowitzki's twilight before official retirement. "People like that deserve to say goodbye on their own terms and according to their wishes, and everyone deserves a decent funeral, figurative or literal.' Harrison did not give Doncic that treatment whatsoever, breaking the news on a Friday night that had actually been in the works long before Luka willed the Mavericks to the NBA Finals. Nelson poignantly had a one-word response to the trade itself: "shocked". Advertisement And further ... "still shocked". "You have to understand that some players are different, special, and even more important to the environment and the community. It's important to treat those players with respect," Nelson added. Donnie also stated that this situation simply "wouldn't have happened" under his watch. So much of the "loyalty" energy that flowed through Mavericks organization during Dirk's tenure had evaporated in the waning moments of Luka's ... and that emptiness still remains. However, Harrison has had a guardian angel in the form of a ping-pong ball that won Dallas the lottery and awarded the No. 1 overall draft pick with the right to add star phenom Cooper Flagg to the roster. Advertisement Harrison surely has learned from these mistakes, whether he's listened to Nelson and the fans' harsh criticism or not. Nico has stated that Flagg is a generational, "once-in-a-lifetime" player ... but as Nelson might agree... We've already seen how he handled one of those.
