Congress President accuses Modi govt of

India Gazette09-06-2025
New Delhi [India], June 9 (ANI): Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday launched a sharp attack on the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government, alleging that the last 11 years under BJP rule have caused serious harm to India's democratic institutions, economy, and social harmony.
Kharge further alleged that the BJP government has 'weakened' constitutional institutions and 'attacked' their autonomy.
In a social media post on X, Kharge wrote, 'In the last 11 years, the Modi government has caused severe damage to Indian democracy, economy and social fabric. BJP-RSS weakened every constitutional institution and attacked their autonomy. Whether it was stealing public opinion and toppling governments through the back door, or forcibly imposing one-party dictatorship. During this period, the rights of the states were ignored and the federal structure was weakened.'
The Congress President alleged that the government had created an atmosphere of 'hatred, threats and fear' in the society and claimed that the exploitation of Dalits, tribals, backward classes, minorities, and weaker sections had increased, citing the Manipur situation.
The social media post reads, 'There are continuous efforts to spread hatred, threats and fear in the society. The exploitation of Dalits, tribals, backward, minority and weaker sections has increased continuously. The conspiracy to deprive them of reservation and equal rights continues. The unending violence in Manipur is the biggest proof of the administrative failure of the BJP.'

Kharge also attacked the BJP government over economic policies for the country, adding that this government's major schemes like Make in India, Startup India, Stand up India, Digital India, Namami Gange, 100 SMART Cities have 'failed.'
The post reads, 'BJP-RSS made the country's GDP growth rate habituated to 5-6%, which used to be 8% on average during UPA. Instead of the promise of 2 crore jobs every year, crores of jobs were taken away from the youth. Due to inflation, public savings were the lowest in 50 years, and economic inequality was the highest in 100 years. Demonetisation, wrong GST, unplanned lockdown and by hammering the unorganised sector, the future of crores of people was ruined. Make in India, Startup India, Stand up India, Digital India, Namami Gange, and 100 SMART Cities all failed. Railways were ruined. Only the ribbons of the infrastructure built by Congress-UPA were cut.'
Concluding his remarks, Kharge said, 'The Modi government has wasted the last 11 years in rubbing the ink of dictatorship on every page of the Constitution!' (ANI)

Congress shouldn't allow BJP to usurp saffron colour, says Prithviraj Chavan amid ‘saffron terror' charges

Appealing to his own party leaders to not term terror as 'saffron terror', former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan on Friday (August 1, 2025) said that the Congress should not let the BJP usurp saffron colour. '14 Crore Maharashtrians revere saffron, not because of BJP, but because of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj,' he told The Hindu. Hitting back at Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, who said there never was any Hindutva or saffron terror, he asked, 'Who was Nathuram Godse then? Who killed Comrade Pansare or Narendra Dabholkar? While terror has no colour, acts of terror need to be recognised. What is the colour of terror in Manipur?' He said that the current government had failed to give justice to the victims of terror attacks. 'There have been acquittals in the 7/11 train blasts and in Malegaon blast. What will you tell the victims? Who did it? Someone has to be accountable. The government should go in appeal against both the orders. Where is justice otherwise?' he asked. Mr Chavan said that as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra before 2014, he had sent a proposal to the Centre to ban Sanatan Sanstha under the stringent UAPA. ATS policeman's statement questioned He questioned the timing and the content of a former policeman of Maharashtra Police who has claimed that he was asked to arrest Mohan Bhagwat after the Malegaon blasts. 'How can you trust a former inspector? Can an inspector be privy to such high level discussions? What is the basis of his statement? Also, this is not the first time he has said it. When Fadnavis became the CM in 2014, why didn't he say anything about it?' he asked, calling the timing of the statement conspicuous.

Telangana Dy CM dedicates 1st unit of Yadadri Thermal Power Plant

Nalgonda, Aug 1 (UNI) Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said the 4,000 MW Yadadri Thermal Power Plant will be fully dedicated to the nation by January next year. Speaking after dedicating the first 800 MW unit to the nation on Friday and laying the foundation stone for an integrated township at the project site, to be developed at a cost of Rs 970 crore, Bhatti Vikramarka termed the event 'historic' for meeting the state's power needs. He said the project was delayed for nearly two years due to the previous government's failure to secure environmental clearances, which increased costs significantly. 'After the present Congress government came to power, clearances were obtained in just two months, and two units totaling 1,600 MW were completed by setting weekly and monthly targets,' he explained. The Deputy CM announced that employees working at the remote site would be provided with world-class educational institutions, corporate-level medical facilities, and local welfare measures. Free education and healthcare will also be extended to local residents who cooperated in the project's construction, along with ambulance services and road development. He assured that those who gave up land for the project would receive jobs by August 15 and full rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) benefits. Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy praised Bhatti Vikramarka for his dynamic supervision, stating that the Yadadri project, once stalled, is now progressing rapidly and will benefit the state's power supply within two years. Praniti Shinde Refuses to Apologise for 'Tamasha' Remark on Op Sindoor After PM Modi Takes Dig Congress MP Praniti Shinde's 'Tamasha' comment on Operation Sindoor sparked outrage across party lines, but she's not backing down. Even as PM Modi condemned her remarks as an insult to the 26 lives lost in the Pahalgam terror attack, Shinde doubled down: 'We'll apologise 1000 times to the victims' families, but never to the BJP's andh-bhakts and trolls.' Shinde further questioned the lack of transparency in Operation Sindoor, asking how many terrorists were neutralised, whether jets were lost, and what India truly gained. The BJP called her stand disrespectful to the armed forces. #operationsindoor #pranitishinde #tamasharemark #congressvspm #pmmodi #pahalgamattack #loksabhadebate #modivscongress #modivspranitishinde #andhbhakts #bjpcongressclash #indianpolitics #breakingnews #trending #mediaoptics #nationalsecurity #operationmahadev #modispeech #bjpvscongress #parliamentdrama #expungedremark #toi #toibharat #bharat #trending #breakingnews #indianews 9.8K views | 2 days ago
