Product Description
Its extended battery life promises to last a 'whole day' according to its product description, and claims to offer up to 11 hours of video playback, 26 hours of music enjoyment, and eight hours of gaming before running out of charge.
Those browsing alternative tablets may consider the Lenovo Tab 10.1in 128GB Wi-Fi Tablet, currently on offer for £119.99 on Argos. Or, for those with a higher budget, Argos is also selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ 11in 64GB Wi-Fi Tablet for £209.
But shoppers adore the discounted DOOGEE Android tablet, which has gained a very strong 4.5 star rating out of five, and over 1,000 have been snapped up in the last month.
One pleased shopper wrote: "This tablet is an absolute gem! It's fast, responsive, and handles everything from streaming to gaming with ease. The display is bright and colourful, and the sound quality is brilliant. I love how lightweight and slim it is—very easy to carry around.
"The battery lasts all day without needing a top-up, and the 16GB RAM with 128GB storage (expandable to 2TB!) makes multitasking a breeze. I've had zero issues using it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality Android tablet. I'm really happy with this purchase!"
Yet a less satisfied shopper said: "Wish I hadn't bought it. After three months, I've had a chance to get to know it and I wish I'd known then what I know now. It takes over 8/10 hours to charge, and that's with a fast charging cable.
"A lot of the apps no longer work as they should and in general it's not fit for purpose. I have obviously missed the return window so it's a lot of money to lose. I've written this review to hopefully prevent anyone else making the same mistake."
But another happy customer wrote: "Sleek with its metallic design, this 11-inch beauty combines style with functionality, fitting into my school bag as easily as gossip from the P&T meeting. It features 16GB RAM and 128GB storage, and when the kids start talking about new apps, the 2TB expansion option is really useful!
"Navigating through apps is a breeze thanks to the octa-core processor, although I sometimes wish the screen resolution was sharper, especially when streaming ""The Great British Bake Off."""The battery life is impressive, meaning fewer charges and more time for after-school adventures. In the end, the U11 offers a mix of practicality and performance, making those lesson planning sessions or Netflix binges a bit more enjoyable. It's a solid all-rounder for a budget-friendly option."
The discounted DOOGEE 2025 Android 15 Tablet is available on Amazon HERE.

Amazon's £160 smartwatch with 'refined style' dropped to £36

Shoppers were full of love for this affordable timepiece that does so much for a discount smartwatch Amazon shoppers have been praising a smartwatch that was discounted by more than £120 during a sale. People loved the fact that its "sporty and rugged design" made it "perfect for daily use or workouts" Normally £159.99, the Military Smart Watch by Atheewon is discounted by a massive 80%, cutting the final price down to just under £35.99. Built with a "rugged" look, this military-style smartwatch is "built to endure the toughest environments", Amazon claims. It boasts being "shockproof, drop-resistant and scratch-resistant" with a remarkable level of protection against "daily wear and extreme conditions". The online listing suggests that the device can stayed powered up for days after just two hours of charging. The device offers all you'd expect from a smartwatch for a fraction of the price of leading models like Apple and FitBit, like call, text and social media notifications. The watch comes in two colour choices - midnight retro blue (which is discounted) or casual black (which is full priced). For the fitness fanatics, the waterproof watch offers a range of features to make training and tracking progress effortless. With more than 110 programmed sport modes, it "analyses data in real time to help optimise training results and achieve exercise goals easily", Amazon adds. There are similar devices on the market for people wanting an affordable way into the smartwatch world without spending hundreds of pounds. For example, Sports Direct is offering this Karrimor Smart Watch (£19.99, down from £49.99) and the Reflex Active Series 23 Smart Watch from Currys (£39.99). But, Amazon shoppers have been praising this "sporty" watch. One said: "It brilliantly combines robust design, technical performance and sporty versatility. "Whether you are sporty, adventurous or simply a fan of smart gadgets, this smartwatch will accompany you everywhere, while enhancing your wrist." Another added: "I liked this smartwatch as soon as I unboxed it. "It has a sporty, rugged design, perfect for daily use or workouts. The strap is comfortable and adjustable, and the round screen is clear, even outdoors." A third posted: "This is my first smartwatch I never thought I needed one, but it has been a total game changer for exercise I've used it for more than 3 days without a single charge, and it's still running perfectly. The battery life is amazing!" And, someone else wrote: "The watch is really smart and has tons of workout variations, so you can choose exactly what you want to focus on. It keeps me motivated and active. Totally worth it!" But, not everyone was impressed. A shopper who left a one star review claimed: "I spent hours trying to get this paired and synced to no avail. "Ended up giving up out of frustration. If it's this hard to pair the watch and get it to work properly then forget it. "I don't need that kind of frustration. I'm returning the watch for that reason." Someone else penned: "Nice watch but step counter doesn't properly for me. Some days doesn't register at all and I know I've walked 3 or 4 miles." A separate individual suggested: "The two 'buttons' on the left are not even buttons. They are just part of the plastic casing. "I can't imagine an £150 watch having fake buttons?"

Amazon to buy startup focused on AI wearables

SAN FRANCISCO, July 22 (Reuters) - Amazon (AMZN.O), opens new tab has reached a deal to buy San Francisco-based Bee, a startup making an artificial intelligence-enabled bracelet to listen in on and transcribe conversations. Bee's $50 wristband can analyze and distill what it records to make summaries, to-do lists or other tasks. Amazon confirmed the deal on Tuesday following a post on LinkedIn by Bee CEO and co-founder Maria de Lourdes Zollo. The deal has not yet closed and Amazon declined to provide terms. A spokesperson said Amazon will work with Bee to give users more control over the devices, which are set to automatically transcribe audio but can be muted. "We imagined a world where AI is truly personal, where your life is understood and enhanced by technology that learns with you,' said Zollo in her post. She did not immediately respond to a query on Tuesday. It was not Amazon's first foray into wearables. The Seattle online retailer marketed a line of wrist health trackers called Halo but ultimately killed the project in 2023. It also has a line of smart glasses embedded with Amazon's virtual assistant, Alexa, under its Echo brand. ChatGPT parent OpenAI bought former Apple (AAPL.O), opens new tab designer Jony Ive's AI device startup called io for about $6.5 billion. Other startups have made early attempts at AI wearables, with mixed results. In her post, Zollo thanked Amazon devices executive Panos Panay, suggesting Bee would join his group when the deal closes. Much of Amazon's AI development is being conducted in its Amazon Web Services unit. Bee was founded in 2022.

Tech stocks drag on Nasdaq as investors monitor corporate profits, US tariff talks

July 22 (Reuters) - The Nasdaq was pressured by falling megacap stocks on Tuesday, a day before major tech results are due, while investors assessed a spate of second-quarter corporate earnings and watched for signs of progress in U.S. trade discussions. At 11:25 a.m. ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (.DJI), opens new tab rose 53.78 points, or 0.11%, to 44,372.37, the S&P 500 (.SPX), opens new tab lost 6.56 points, or 0.10%, to 6,298.48 and the Nasdaq Composite (.IXIC), opens new tab lost 100.59 points, or 0.48%, to 20,874.05. Heavyweight tech names were the biggest losers. Amazon (AMZN.O), opens new tab fell 1%, Meta Platforms (META.O), opens new tab shed 1.1%, Nvidia (NVDA.O), opens new tab was down 1.6% and Broadcom (AVGO.O), opens new tab lost 2.3%. The S&P's technology sector (.SPLRCT), opens new tab led sectoral losses and dropped 0.9%, cooling from a record high in the previous session. "Traders are just trying to position a little... because it's (technology) had such a big run. Some might be hedging a little bit before the earnings," said Max Wasserman, senior portfolio manager at Miramar Capital. Some underwhelming corporate results also dimmed sentiment. General Motors (GM.N), opens new tab saw its second-quarter profit skid 32% to $3 billion, with the automaker blaming hefty tariff costs for carving out $1.1 billion from its results. Its shares lost 6.9%, while peer Ford (F.N), opens new tab dipped 1%. Tariff actions also weighed on RTX (RTX.N), opens new tab and the defense company slashed its 2025 profit outlook, sending its shares down 2.2%. Lockheed Martin (LMT.N), opens new tab did not fare much better — its second-quarter profit nosedived nearly 80% after booking a hefty $1.6 billion in pre-tax losses. The ever-evolving nature of tariff headlines also had investors on edge as the August 1 deadline set by U.S. President Donald Trump for most countries approaches. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced plans to meet his Chinese counterpart next week, potentially discussing an extension to the August 12 deadline set for tariffs on imports from China. Meanwhile, trade negotiations stalled, with optimism for a breakthrough deal with India waning, according to Indian government officials, and as the EU weighed new countermeasures against the United States. Focus will shift to results for Google-parent Alphabet (GOOGL.O), opens new tab and EV-maker Tesla (TSLA.O), opens new tab as they kick off quarterly earnings for the "Magnificent Seven" stocks on Wednesday. Alphabet's shares dipped 0.4%, while Tesla edged up 0.5%. Elevated earnings expectations for these stocks are already priced to justify their stretched valuations, leaving little room for disappointment. "Unless you get real bad news or something that indicates a slowdown in the rate of growth, you could see a selloff," Wasserman said. The healthcare sector (.SPXHC), opens new tab jumped 1.2% to lead sectoral gains after declining for the last three sessions. Meanwhile, Philip Morris (PM.N), opens new tab fell 8.2% after reporting second-quarter revenue below expectations. Of the 89 S&P 500 companies that have reported second-quarter earnings so far, 78.7% surpassed analyst expectations, according to data compiled by LSEG. After last week's mixed economic data, traders have all but ruled out an interest-rate cut from the U.S. Federal Reserve next week. They now see about a 60% chance of a reduction in September, according to the CME's FedWatch tool. Advancing issues outnumbered decliners by a 2.17-to-1 ratio on the NYSE and by a 1.51-to-1 ratio on the Nasdaq. The S&P 500 posted 15 new 52-week highs and no new lows, while the Nasdaq Composite recorded 45 new highs and 36 new lows.
