She gave him Rs 45,000 when he was in need—He came back to kill: How garment shop helper butchered employer, son in Delhi's Lajpat Nagar home

NEW DELHI: A woman and her 14-year-old son were murdered at their south Delhi home on Wednesday evening, allegedly by a man who had taken a Rs 45,000 advance from her and stopped returning calls after falling out over repayment, police said. The suspect, identified as Mukesh, was arrested hours later by police in Uttar Pradesh while trying to flee by train. Police believe Ruchika Sewani, 40, and her son Krish were killed with a sharp object after she confronted the accused over the money. But Mukesh allegedly stopped reporting to work and avoided her calls. 'He agreed to return the money and a phone, but flew into a rage after being scolded by a woman,' a senior officer said, citing Mukesh's initial statement. The killings were discovered late on Wednesday night after repeated calls by Kuldeep to his wife went unanswered. He then sent a staffer from his shop to check on the family. The worker found bloodstains near the gate and called Kuldeep, who alerted police. Police broke open the gate to the ground-floor flat and found Ruchika dead in one room and her son in the bathroom, both with deep neck injuries. Neighbours said they had heard no noise due to the air conditioning running in the house. CCTV footage showed the accused leaving the building soon after the time of the killings, which reportedly took place between 7 and 7:30pm, shortly after Ruchika returned home from the shop. Her son is believed to have come in from cricket coaching minutes later and tried to intervene, but was also attacked and chased into the bathroom. An inter-state alert was issued for the suspect and he was caught at Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction railway station in Uttar Pradesh. Police are still looking for the murder weapon and are investigating whether the suspect had tampered with CCTV equipment before entering the home. A case of murder has been registered.

‘No Fear Of Traffic Police': Wrong-Side Driving In Bengaluru Triggers Anger

The video was taken near the Shell petrol pump in Bengaluru's Seegehalli. Driving on the wrong side of the road has become a growing problem in many cities and Bengaluru is no exception. A recent video from the city has gained attention online which shows a white SUV driving on the wrong side of a busy road without any hesitation. The video was taken near the Shell petrol pump in Seegehalli. It shows the SUV driving on the wrong side of the road. The car even occupies the right-most lane and heads straight into oncoming traffic. Other vehicles on the road can be seen adjusting their path. The video was posted on X by a user who wrote, 'Wrong side driving is a new norm in Bangalore. Even cars, buses and trucks. This KIA driver was driving on the wrong side of the right most lane. This occurred in front of a shell petrol pump in Seegehalli, Bangalore." The user also tagged Bengaluru Traffic Police in the hope that action would be taken. Wrong side driving is a new norm in Bangalore. Even cars, buses and trucks. @BlrCityPolice @blrcitytraffic @DriveSmart_IN This KIA driver was driving on the wrong side that too on the right most lane. This occurred in front of shell petrol pump in seegehalli Bangalore. — navin agrawal (@agrawalnavin) July 2, 2025 Soon after the video was posted, many people started commenting on the post. Most were angry and frustrated with how often such things happen in Bengaluru. One user commented, 'We need to take so much effort to report these for action from the police. All this for a Rs 500 fine. This won't stop them from repeating it. Fines and enforcement need to be stricter." Another added, 'No fear of traffic police. We should dismiss and send all the traffic cops home, saving taxpayers' money." 'Same problem at Shell petrol bunk in Thanisandra. The divider opening is directly in front of the Petrol bunk's exit. So, people drive on the wrong way to enter the petrol bunk and create traffic jams," someone pointed out. 'You stop them and they will justify why they are driving on the wrong side. This is what will happen when enforcement is so lax," a person said. A frustrated individual wrote, 'I can post 100s of wrong-side driving vehicles videos everyday from my dashcam but what's the use? I was interested earlier but no one cares, I lost all hopes. This menace is increasing every day and no action plans to stop this." 'Heavy penalty and license suspension should be imposed. It's a risk to others' lives. How can someone be so ignorant!!" read another comment. This isn't the first time such reckless driving has been caught on camera in Bengaluru. In December last year, a similar video had caught everyone's eye. It showed a passenger bus, full of people, driving on the wrong side of the road. The incident took place on NICE Road, between the Bannerghatta junction and the Electronic City toll booth. First Published:

"The accused used to book movie tickets online and visit theatres. Using his mobile phone hidden in shirt pocket, he recorded the movie. Later, he shared the pirated video with his handlers via Telegram," the police said. In return for sharing videos, Kiran's handlers would pay him $300-$400 per film in cryptocurrency.
